![]() ViViD has opened up a new world that new arrivals will be pulled into while frequent players will be invited to check out. This particular setting is the new beta world that CERES is constructing in time for the Hallow's Eve celebrations and festivals. It's a world inhabited by the undead and several ghouls and monsters of typical horror lore. Inside, one will encounter werewolves, lichens, vampires, succubi, incubi, specters, mummies, and so on. They will be on the prowl and eager to attack, but players need only concern themselves with getting through and getting out. At first, players will awaken outside of a large manor supposedly owned by a wealthy noble who is rumored to be practicing strange alchemic experiments within. Many know him simply as The Count. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves being greeted by their guide at the start screen:

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |
I
Or... he was eager to help. Zara goes from worrying he's gotten there too late to slowly coming to a stop nearby and staring down, sword drawn, at the girl covered in adorable round wolves, looking somewhat confused. ]
... Do you... need help, young miss?
no subject
Goodness - please, sir!
[She's feeling awfully unproductive sitting here in a pile of round werewolves, as sweet as they are. So she extends a hand in his direction, waiting for it to be taken.]
no subject
You seem very popular.
no subject
Perhaps so, though I'd prefer receiving their attention in a less... slimy way.
[So much werewolf saliva. So much.
Though now that she's standing, she's taking a proper look at her savior and registering the.... ears..... and before she can really help herself, the words escape her mouth-]
Oh my!
no subject
-- Is something the matter? Are you hurt?
[ ... he's not sure how she'd get hurt by those things, but you never know. Maybe she took a bad fall. ]
no subject
Ah, no, I'm fine, sir. Thank you....
[ . . . . Are they normal for him then? Is he part of this simulation and this imaginary world? Honestly, Natalia really should be better at being delicate but she doesn't think it's very polite to make assumptions of another person so well, she eventually just asks-]
I beg your pardon, I'm being terribly rude. I suppose I'm merely surprised - I've never met someone with ears like yours.
[Well there you go. Direct as can be.]
no subject
Oh, that... Fufu. No offense taken. I'm a member of the Rabbits race. [ he bows his head once, respectfully. ]
Zara Skeens. I suppose your world doesn't have my kind in it? Although, to be honest, there aren't many of us left in my own, either.
no subject
I see. I'm afraid that Auldrant lacks any of your people, Sir Skeens.
[Which is kind of a shame. She's rather sure that Tear would find them wonderful.... and adorable. But in return to the bow of his head, she merely nods in acknowledgement. Princess habits.]
My name is Natalia. Though I do wish we could've met under better circumstances, it's been a pleasure. Thank you for all your assistance.
[Though the wolves continue to jump at them... and she makes a vaguely disgruntled face.]
Might I propose that we take our leave from this location? Perhaps they won't follow.
no subject
While he's not particularly bothered by the tiny wolves, he doesn't mind leaving them, either. ]
"Zara" is fine, Miss Natalia. I'm just a servant, after all. [ he half-smiles. ] But yes, that's fine. Maybe we should try heading towards the manor?
no subject
Then "Natalia" is fine, Zara. I'm an equal to you here, after all.
[Conveniently leaving out exactly what her position is, but whatever. Half the point. Still though, at the mention of the manor she turns to find it in her line of sight again before nodding and beginning to walk toward it without much hesitation at all.]
That sounds like a good idea. Then let's proceed!
[alright steamroller princess just don't fall again]
no subject
[ he's not about to fight about it. if he ever finds out she's a princess though........
Zara follows after her, picking up his pace enough to walk beside her, and speaks again after a few seconds of silence. ]
May I ask you something? In truth, I'm looking for someone... A girl around your age with long, blonde hair, pale skin, and green eyes. She shouldn't be left alone.
no subject
I can't think of someone I've met like that just yet.... is she a companion of yours?
no subject
[ is this the only reason Zara even went into ViViD? It sure is. ]
It is my problem, however.
no subject
[It's enough to make Natalia feel sad in return. She's never been particularly close to any of her attendants, headstrong princess as she is, but it reminds her a bit of Luke and Guy's relationship. Attendants always seem to be such worrywarts....]
I understand your concern. If I see anyone that matches that description, I'll be sure to let her know that you're looking for her.
no subject
That's all I can ask for. Thank you. Her name is Fiona.
no subject
[Though it does bring up a few more questions. How does he know to look for her even though they'd all been told that their worlds were destroyed? Tilting her head, she can't help but voice her curious, direct as always.]
So you haven't bought into the information that they presented to us? [About aliens and all that.]
no subject
... Not yet, no. It's simply too outrageous for me to accept right away. [ he'd think himself pretty gullible if he did. ] That, and I don't know enough about what's going on to fully understand it... Once I've researched the technology here more, perhaps I'll have a better idea of how probably their story is.
[ first off, understanding what a computer is. And data. ]
no subject
Ah... In truth, that has never been one of my strong suits. [She always had the technology buff named Guy Cecil around to bully into giving her answers explain the situation to her.] Do share what you find, Zara? Of course I plan to share whatever I discover in turn. I refuse to stand for an agency that will attempt to feed me lies - if that's truly what they are.
[absolutely indignant. also stubborn. her true colors shine through]
no subject
[ ... eventually. It depends on the nature of what he uncovers. While he doesn't have any desire to lie or keep things from his fellow kidnappees, he has to prioritize the safety of the Galland family. But he doesn't intend on leaving everyone here in the dark if they truly are being tricked, either. ]
... I've yet to see if it will be one of my strong suits. With any luck...
no subject
[Though from the edge in her voice she doesn't sound too happy about that either. If their worlds are or aren't destroyed, then what's the purpose of having this many people right off the bat? Especially when everyone else seems just as confused too.]
Hopefully we'll be able to work together.
no subject
[ a pause. Actually, on that note. ]
Your world has no technology like this one, does it?
