![]() ViViD has opened up a new world that new arrivals will be pulled into while frequent players will be invited to check out. This particular setting is the new beta world that CERES is constructing in time for the Hallow's Eve celebrations and festivals. It's a world inhabited by the undead and several ghouls and monsters of typical horror lore. Inside, one will encounter werewolves, lichens, vampires, succubi, incubi, specters, mummies, and so on. They will be on the prowl and eager to attack, but players need only concern themselves with getting through and getting out. At first, players will awaken outside of a large manor supposedly owned by a wealthy noble who is rumored to be practicing strange alchemic experiments within. Many know him simply as The Count. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves being greeted by their guide at the start screen:

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |
did someone say pakkuman
viking-napped. viking-napped by said approaching figure who he realizes now is a very, very fast man. very fast man he's struggling to keep up with, his metal prosthetic "squeaking" as he runs. ]
You're what?! [ he manages between gasps. ] There are-- [ an exhale, as he increases his volume ] --There are much better ways to introduce yourself than kidnapping!
no subject
[ He silently agrees, though. Meeting a person for the first time should be special and formal.. depending on the person, really.
In any case, Zura gives one last yank before releasing his hand from Hiccup's wrist.
And although he's a criminal, kidnapping isn't his cup of tea.
...Usually. ]
Follow the dots; take your tee-pee with you. That's a proverb you need to learn.
[ no it isn't. and it has nothing to do with anything. ]
no subject
this entire conversation already feels like a trip, actually. ]
Katsura! All right! [ he's got that now. that's about the only thing he's got. ] Would it kill you to make a bit more sense?!
[ i am a viking and what is any of this ]
And why are we running?
no subject
Ch-ch-ch.
[ SHOOSHING. and by that he's placing a hand over Hiccup's mouth lopsidedly, sort of smushing him a little. ]
A foolish man carries tee-pee on his foot when leaving his place of solitude; a wise man comes carries it in his pouch.
[ the fuck. he's talking about toilet paper and a bathroom. ]
—You wouldn't happen to have a large dot in your inventory, would you?
[ sure, he they could keep running until they came across one to make Blinky-kun vulnerable, but they may need to make a dash for it. ]
no subject
Anf a not creepy man keeps hif handf to himfelf.
[ oh, great, he's following a crazy person. maybe he should run in the other direction. but, well, there's that thing they're running from that he's getting no explanation about sooo. then again, does that thing even exist? does anything exist? is any of this even real?
pushing katsura's hand away now. ]
Uh, no. How does anyone have a conversation with you?
no subject
[ Katsura puts his hands on his knees and sort of hunches down, tucking a piece of hair behind his ear. He seems to be really studying their environment.
..
He might also be trying to be more level with Hiccup. ]
The point of this game is to no get eaten and eat the ghost instead. We need to find a big dot first.
[ what's that.. over there?
It's red and round and... oh my god.
Zura's brows lift. ]
Ah, cherries. 100 points.
[ there's a tempting sound in his voice....... ]
no subject
at this point, he's just barely following. at least he's figured out what they're running from. another ghost.
he's so surprised! (no, he's not). cue the serious, hushed tone, now that he knows there's actual danger. ]
I'll refrain from commenting on the fact that ghosts are usually very non-edible given that they're... invisible, [ he just commented on that fact, as he peeks over to wherever katsura is looking ] but didn't you just say we need to focus on eating the ghost and not... cherries?
[ maybe he's just hungry. maybe that's why he used "eating" in place of "beating" the ghost. either way, katsura must be stopped. ]
Go out there, and it might find you before we get the chance to find that "big dot".
no subject
[ At Hiccup's statement, Katsura's arms cross over his chest. ]
You're learning. Sometimes it is not worth it to be so greedy. I suppose our next option is to run like the dickens until we find what we are looking for.
[ old saying for a moderately young guy, but you know. He's dated. ]
—ah, is that going to be a problem, shorty-dono?
[ he noticed that little prosthetic you've got there. ]
no subject
... of course there's other things that don't but, you know, baby steps.
speaking of steps, hiccup lifts his metal leg as katsura's attention moves to it, jumping a few centimetres backward as he attempts to hold his balance. ]
You think this thing'll slow me down? Come on. [ foot down now. he's got experience running from things, having one less good leg isn't going to affect that... yeah.... ] Good foot, bad foot, what's it matter as long as one goes in front of the other?
[ a pause. ]
Though, uh. You lead.
[ given he has no idea what katsura's looking for. er, what they're looking for. apparently they're "we". now. ]
no subject
[ With that, Zura picks up the pace. He's pretty quick and moves smoothly— he runs a lot, okay. When you're a wanted criminal, you learn to run, and run fast.
They're running along little dots now. ]
Following this path could take us to a dead end or lead us to what we need. There is nothing we can do right now but hope for another means of escape.
[ THANKS FOR THE REASSURANCE. are all the dead Asians here this helpful?? ]
no subject
when things are left to hope things aren't good. hiccup runs as quickly as he can, trying his best to stay right behind the totally useful dead asian. when you're a small toothpick with a buff dad who likes getting into trouble, you also learn to run fast. ]
Well, that was helpful.
[ looking down at their feet-- ]
Aren't these big dots? Can't we just grab one of-- [ tripping over one of them, though he continues to run. a sharp breath. ] --these.
no subject
Katsura eyes all the little dots, running carefully along their side before looking over his shoulder at his little viking companion. ]
Not big enough. We must eat them, too.
[ Zura makes a sharp turn, and then: ]
Ah! That looks like one ahead!
no subject
not for hiccup though, everything is still confusing and everything hurts. well, not everything, mostly his brain.
he's really questioning whether or not he should've followed this guy, but it's too late now. sharp turn made as he tries to position himself to look beyond katsura, into the distance, and-- ]
Wow, that is-- [ breath in, breath out. ] --bigger. You're right. It's bigger.
[ and he's tired. ]
Let's just--get it, now!
