It is a quiet day in mostly reconstructed Cerealia. The robots are busily running into walls that were not there before, the Cybuddy bees are buzzing...and CERES has still not said a word. Attempting to contact them still gets the User Offline error. Strange...

But who cares if CERES is offline? After all, they are the cruel and tyrannical captors. A Cerealia without them must be better than a Cerealia with them. So there's nothing to worry about on this fine, peaceful day. Or, at least, that's what it seems like, when suddenly there's a voice in everyone's head. A chosen few may recognize the voice, for they will have heard it before, but to the vast majority, it is brand new.

Looks like someone has been saved, and a reward granted... and no, you don't have a single choice in the matter.

Your heroism will be remembered, lost and stolen souls.

You have saved me, and so now, I shall save you.

All of you.

//SCENARIOS.EXE

PHASE I

[ day one ] It happens so quickly. One moment you’re in the colony, going about your daily life, and the next, you’re… floating. A moment later, every player character from the colony is transported with a wisp of fresh air to...somewhere very very different. The distance is far, but it is covered in what must have only been a scant moment, and it’s clear somehow, especially to air characters, that it was Caeli’s doing that brought everyone there.

There, naturally, being right in the middle of the jungle.

Everyone is then unceremoniously dropped. You may land on a tree, or in a patch of poison mushrooms (no really, look out for the colorful plant life, it’s probably poisonous) or in the river. There are some strange insects of all sorts and types, some of which have some uncomfortable side effects if you’re bitten, such as swelling or the uncomfortable urge to go hug the nearest person, and there are strange flowers everywhere, some of which glow only in the dark of night or the shade of trees. It is dreadfully humid, however, and a little hard to breathe--unless you’re of the air disposition.

Either way, you’ve certainly landed somewhere fantastical, so take some time to get used to your surroundings. It shouldn’t take too long to find everyone else, hopefully.

PHASE II

[ day two ] Of course, this far into the jungle, and making this much noise, it was only inevitable before some company was attracted.

Some are clearly dangerous, some are peaceful as can be and some are somewhere in between; approach at your own risk.

Either way, these monsters are all drawn to larger groups of people and a lot of noise, so it may be best to keep quiet...though the ones that keep their distance may be even more concerning.

Everyone is certainly being stalked at one point or another in the jungle -- and at night, there are eyes watching from the darker parts of the trees.

PHASE III

[ day three ] But perhaps if you follow some of those monsters deeper into the woods, you will stumble across an old, run down village of sorts. It looks as though time and the jungle has overtaken it. Exploring it will reveal plenty of homes that were clearly lived in however, by families and by people of all sorts.

There are empty rooms, covered in dust, and a central village fire, long gone out.

Small knick-knacks and various objects can be found… if you want to steal from the dead, you know. It’s a little rude. It appears they led a simple, peaceful life, however; most notably, there is no technology to be found.

And if The Bridge catches you doing it, she will look incredibly sad and ask you to put everything back in its proper place before she goes back to looking very irritated at Caeli. You may overhear words about how this “isn’t the right place” and Caeli’s unrepentant, “It is only a few hundred miles”. Looks like something went a little wrong in the transportation process.

Time to camp out for the night, perhaps. And your CereVices don’t get any reception out here, so no surfing the internet for you. If you try to connect to the internet, for some reason the device starts playing a song. Was that programmed…?

PHASE IV

[ day four ] By the fourth day, it’s pretty clear that you’re going to be stuck here for a bit. Pestering Caeli or Maris gets nothing, while the Bridge still can’t be approached for pretty good reasons. So… you’ll just have to make the best of it while they figure out their next approach.

Time to figure out how to camp with few supplies and even fewer nice places to sleep. Maybe try to make a fire (though it’s incredibly difficult, considering how muggy it is here) or try to find some bugs to eat (ew gross).

Of course, you can try hunting, but the prey doesn’t look too friendly, so be careful not to become the prey yourself. The same goes for fishing, it seems.

Some of the trees are poisonous, some of the grasses will cause unfortunate rashes, and some vines will lash out to grab at people (especially colorful ones); basically, this is an entirely untamed alien jungle, so it may not be the fun camping trip you'd like.

Time to work together to survive out here, at least for a little longer.

It’s your time to shine. This is Person Versus Wild.

PHASE V

[ day six ] On day six, the jungle goes utterly silent.

The monsters and animals disappear. The extra friends poof away hastily and suddenly. Maris and the Bridge fall silent (though Caeli admittedly continues floating there as ever). If anyone approaches them to ask, they'll just say that "she is coming".

And soon, she does appear. She moves slowly, lacking in feet; they are roots, as though that of a tree. Nonetheless, she has no troubles with moving forward, slow bit by bit. She does not speak, not at first, and behind her, trotting lightly through the woods, there is another. Both feel strongly of spiritual energy, just like Maris and Caeli. And eventually, after observing the people gathered, they can be spoken to.

BONUS

[ day ??? ] After spending some time in the jungle, emotions might be running a bit amuck. And those emotions might bring some unexpected...friends. Yes, let's go with friends.

Because if a character is typically grumpy, gloomy, stoic, lineface, or anything along those lines, they may find themselves followed by a bright, happy bird. That bird feeds off of those emotions, and will just cheerfully follow around any lineface character for as long as possible. Or until they smile. The birds are otherwise harmless, chirping happily every now and then and following them around like a friendly shadow.

Happy, cheerful, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, energetic characters, on the other hand, will soon find themselves followed by... a different friend. Or maybe a handful of them. It depends on how cheerful they are. Either way, these creatures feed off of happiness and fun, but they will also chew on hair or an ear if they're allowed to get that close, making horrifying, chittering noises as they follow anyone who is in a good mood.

undaunts: (you can call me ruby rose)

jaune, nora.

Great work, guys!

[She doesn't really need to intrude on their team dynamic; Jaune seems to have it covered in the leadership department. So really, since it's 66% team JNPR and 33% team RWBY, she's willing to make this concession.]

What now, Jaune? I'll follow your lead, okay?

[You can be a good leader, after all--she knows it.]

[ It's no wonder that Jaune's pathetic swings at the beast's leg didn't do much if even Nora's attack couldn't break it all the way. Still, the mark is good enough to injure it, and if they double their efforts on the leg Jaune couldn't damage, they'll likely stop it from stampeding altogether. Plus it would be cool to see Nora and Ruby team up... like what kind of attack name would they come up with? Team RWBY always has these cool codenames for team-ups. Come to think of it, Jaune never had one of those codenames either-- wait, this isn't the time for that. ]

Attack the other leg at the same time!

[ It isn't the best plan, and he trusts Ruby enough not to coordinate her too much. He's good at taking the initiative, but Ruby is probably even better, he figures. Having said that, Jaune sees his chance to jump on one of the tusks while the monster had been down. ]

I'll distract it!

[ The beast rises up again, with Jaune holding on to one of the tusks. He reaches for the handgun in his pocket that Rin gave him and aims carefully clumsily at the creature's eye. ]

Oooookay, I got this... j-just don't look down.....
heartboop: (Nora: I HAVE A PLAN! TRUST ME!!)

[personal profile] heartboop 2015-10-10 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Nora springs back towards where Ruby is, face full of determination and looking really in the zone of the battle. She looks to Ruby and smirks. ]

Exciting, right?! [ This is the best fight she's had in a long time! Focusing back on the task at hand, Nora swings Magnhild so she could turn it into its grenade launcher form and starts shooting at the leg she just attacked, trying to open up that small wound she made. It's almost like chipping away at a brick wall. ] We're gonna need more firepower than this if we wanna bring it down!

[ She takes notice of what Jaune is trying to do, raising an eyebrow at the gun he has. ]

Where'd you get that from? [ Yes, lets have a lively conversation while taking down a gigantic bull-like monster. ]
undaunts: (this was my calling)

[personal profile] undaunts 2015-10-11 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
[50 shades of red--

Okay no, that's terrible, ignore that. Either way, Ruby's going to follow those directions in her own way, launching herself forward via means of a well-placed rifle shot as Jaune distracts the creature. She flings forward, using her momentum to swing the scythe around in a large, sweeping crescent shape.]

Hold oooon, hold on--

[Her scythe connects, slicing deeply into the flesh of the monster, even though the leg is much too large for her to cleanly slice through the leg. Either way, if they can get both back legs down at the same time--]

Nora, get it now!

[Ruby prepared to fire her sniper rifle, timed to do so at the same time as Nora's strike; she assumes that the added force will allow her to cut through the rest of the muscle of the leg.

Hopefully while Jaune is still....holding on.......]

Er, and don't fall, Jaune!

[ It didn't take long, but Jaune had already shot it in the eye before he lost control of his hold. He's now hanging upside down as the beast thrashes around, only holding on with his legs. This is... it's okay..... he's still got this....... ]

Just do i-- [ He suddenly vomits. Watch out below, ladies!

At least the distraction worked. ]
heartboop: (Nora: it's MAGNHILD TIME!!)

[personal profile] heartboop 2015-10-12 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
[ Vomit Boy strikes again...he'll be alright, surely!

Nora sees the wound more open than before and slams down onto the ground to create a slope before shifting Magnhild in a way that she could stand on it and shoots off a grenade. The force propels her forward towards the leg, and she narrowly misses a tusk swinging around towards her. It passes by her side, leaving a nick on her face, but otherwise, she makes it to the leg. Making a twisting somersault, Nora give her all and swings Magnhild from the side, connecting with an explosion of pink thunder and lightning.

Time to take this behemoth DOWN!
]
undaunts: kia keyworded some of these, don't expect coherency (IT'S CLOBBERING TIME)

[personal profile] undaunts 2015-10-12 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Ewwwww! [It's a squeal, but nonetheless, Ruby stays focused on the monster. Nora's hit connects hard, and at the same time Ruby fires her rifle, letting the momentum carry her (and the sharp edge of the scythe) right through the monster's leg.

With both legs taken out at once, the monster stood no chance of staying upright; it crashes to the ground with a groan, and Ruby skids to a stop a ways away from it.]

Get it now...! [Jaune can you stab the monster or are you too busy vomiting everywhere.]
beaconed: (pic#8915918)

[personal profile] beaconed 2015-10-13 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
[ Wow, he was supposed to be the distraction only!! But at least he stopped vomiting once the monster crashed down along with Jaune. He tumbles away momentarily like a rag doll when he hits the ground, but quickly recomposes himself just like he had to do it against the Ursa. ]

O-Okay, we'll end it together!

[ He quickly wipes his mouth before charging at the beast, and once he's in range he leaps toward it's forehead, flying in the air all dramatically and in slow motion, and thennn

just

stabs it unceremoniously. It likely only did about 2% damage, but he gets bonus stats in bravery. P-Please help him finish it off! ]
heartboop: (Nora: TALLY HO!)

[personal profile] heartboop 2015-10-13 10:27 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nora rolls under the beast to avoid getting squished, using a grenade or two to make sure she cleared herself from the fall. She sees Jaune leap in such a cool way and gives a wide, gaping grin!

Only to see him stop short of finishing it off. Well, he looked totally heroic! She'll be sure to tell Pyrrha of this day if she comes back. Now that his sword is just a big nail sticking out, Nora takes it upon herself to leap up onto the forelegs of the monster. With a running jump and a shot of pink Dust and lightning, Nora leaps and brings down Magnhild upon the hilt of the sword, driving it deep into the beast.

It had better be dead, now!
]
undaunts: (okay but what if we don't)

[personal profile] undaunts 2015-10-14 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
[10/10 bravery points for Jaune, especially after having just lost his lunch. Either way, it seems to have done the job; the monster is properly dead, sword buried deep into its head, Ruby just walks back over to the corpse, skirting Jaune's vomit carefully (ew).]

Hey so...that went well!

[Yeahhhh!!]

Yay, go team!
beaconed: (072)

[personal profile] beaconed 2015-10-15 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
[ Yeahhh! ]

All it cost me was a sword.

Man, why can't their corpses disappear like back home...

[ The gross factor is gonna kick up when he needs to pull his sword out somehow. Ah, the price of victory! ]
heartboop: (Nora: smiling)

[personal profile] heartboop 2015-10-18 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Nora jumps down, barely missing the pool of vomit, and skips over to them. She's certainly feeling pretty great on her high of victory! ]

Why not just pull it out? [ She doesn't see the problem with pulling out a sword from a big, dead beast.

She looks at the beast they took down, giving an impressive whistle.
]

I'd say, that went WAY more than well! [ Taking out her device, Nora tries to find the best spot to take a selfie, which is a few feet away. It doesn't capture all of it, but the head has to at least be in it. Once she finds it, she'll beckon the others to join. ] C'mon, victory shot!
undaunts: (okay but what if we don't)

[personal profile] undaunts 2015-10-19 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's...definitely not something you can leave behind. Get to it, Jaune!

[Go...fetch that sword from the gross corpse.

Life definitely was easier back when monster corpses just disappeared--but oh, then there's a selfie. Ruby's a little awkward and uncomfortable about it, but she plasters on the best (awkward) grin she can.]

Eheh, um...right! Victory! Yay!
