![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

iii-i ... LMFAO
Sadly, that also means he doesn't notice anything off. Instead, he just reaches into his breast pocket and pulls out a small pad of paper and a pen. On it, he writes in an elegant script: ]
I cannot hear.
ZZZZARA
TIME FOR TECHNOLOGY TO SAVE THE DAY. Out comes the CereVice again (which this rude shit will later use to laugh at Ciel's message with), and he types out a message quickly, with well-practised ease. Apparently Oz has adjusted very quickly to technology here?!]
Your ears were damaged?
[By a rude shrieking ghost or something, perhaps??]
no subject
Zara looks sheepish for a moment, but then responds in kind, though it takes him a few moments to type out a message. ]
Yes. I don't know what happened.
Was something the matter?
no subject
Not with me. So many strange things have happened that I wanted to see if everyone else was okay.
[Like the totally caring person he is and all!!]
no subject
Unfortunately, no. Almost everyone in my home is afflicted with something.
[ except Elza, that lucky lion. ]
You are well?
no subject
Very! I feel better than ever.
It's a shame about the others, though.
no subject
It is. I cannot tell what is wrong with them.
no subject
But this works out better for Oz's rudeass ghost, at least, so he sure isn't complaining.]
Deaf, maybe? Some people seem to be blind, too. Or are they behaving strangely?
no subject
[ Zara is not sure how else to put it. Apparently, Nesso is still around, but completely invisible and untouchable. He can be heard... but that doesn't do much for Zara. ]
no subject
Oh? That's a shame, too. I wonder if he's tried to contact you?
no subject
He's able to speak with one of my roommates. It's merely difficult due to my deafness.
[ which sounds... absolutely bizarre. All he can do is shrug sheepishly at Oz. ]
no subject
It sounds inconvenient for both of you. I couldn't even imagine how frustrating it would be, following someone around without them being able to hear or see or touch you.
[Ghozt shrugs too, though it's less sheepish and more nonchalant.]
It would be better for everyone if this passes quickly, right?
no subject
I imagine so. He can speak to our other roommates, at least.
Yes, I hope this passes quack lye.
[ ... wait, what. ]
I meant quickly.
[ thank goodness autocorrect is there for technologcially-impaired zara ]
no subject
But because this ghost is feeling like being a little shit, it will helpfully ease Zara's concerns with some information!! Information always makes people feel more at ease, right??]
I heard that when things go wrong here, it can last weeks.
no subject
[ woah, stop the presses. Understandably, Zara looks very alarmed by that suggestion - he looks up from the screen to Oz and his (somewhat eerie) smile, concern written all over his face.
Weeks without hearing? How is he supposed to cope with that? ]
no subject
If they hold to the same pattern, anyway. Maybe it'll last longer this time.
no subject
[ you can practically see Zara wilting... actually, you kind of can, since his ears droop. There's no way he can go on like this for that long. ]
no subject
Isn't it better to be prepared for the worst? After all, we don't even know if this will be reversible.
no subject
[ he didn't know Oz was such a cynical kid. ]
no subject
[WHAT IF IT'S STRAIGHT UP IMPOSSIBLE what then nerd??]
There's no way of knowing for sure. You might just be stuck trying and failing
no subject
There's no typed reply this time; just a puzzled stare. ]
no subject
Is something bothering you?
[Zara probably doesn't need to hear what he's saying to understand the gist of it, though... It's pretty obvious in his expression and the way he holds his hands out to the sides, an open WHAT OF IT PUNK sort of gesture.]
no subject
What's gotten into you?
no subject
He holds up his CereVice again, but it takes a second for him to type anything out since he seems to be distracted by something slightly behind and off to the side of Zara, TRUE HORROR MOVIE STYLE. The smile that follows is pretty unpleasant-looking.]
Nothing
I'm just preparing for the worst case scenario
Maybe you should too?
no subject
To bet on the worst is to set yourself up for failure. You should concentrate on finding solutions instead.
