//event009.EXE Always Believe in the Heart of the Cards Except When They Tell You to Kill People Welcome to CERES Research Tower’s latest event! For all you new folk queuing outside of the conference room where you were just made to sit through a lovely power point presentation, you will be asked to stay a bit longer and test out some games in their Game Testing Center. It’s a giant space located in the basement level filled to the brim with cubicles for everyone to sit in and enjoy their newest array of pop-up games. The games themselves will be in holo(gm) form and will feature suggestions from CEO’s post, including a simplified, 8-bit version of Tetris, Baseball, Soda Smash, etc. Characters can control the game through moving their fingers and tapping them against the holo(gm) screens. Surrounding the cubicles will be tables of food and more food for characters to partake in. It’s all safe this time. No mind-altering candy corn or gut-exploding Knight Burgers. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the party. For those who have been in Cerealia for a while, they should have received an invitation to the event and an offer of 1,000 credits just for participating. So come on down and bring a friend or ten! Meanwhile, CEO has a small welcome for everyone- “Good Morning and thank you all for coming! We have been expecting you. We hope you will enjoy what we’ve put together today. Ever since we got your feedback on << RAINBOW NARWHAL MELEE >>, we’ve been developing new games for all of you to enjoy. We’ve also tried to draw in some things from your worlds. We hope to hear more feedback from you in the future. In the meantime, feel free to sample our food, generously provided to us by TGICERES, a moderately-priced family restaurant located in the Shopping District."

//SCENARIOS.EXE PHASE I [ xxxx ] Music lightly wafts from the speakers as the showroom opens. Julius Vincere, CERES’ CEO, delivers the opening announcement before leaving the room. He’ll be watching through all the video cameras placed around the room, so be on your best behavior! You will be guided to one of the many cubicles where you will sit and wait for a screen to pop up with a game. Once that game is defeated, another will pop up and another and another until your character gets hungry/has to pee/is so done with this shit. PHASE II [ xxxx ] Among the game rotations is a simple 8-bit fortune telling game starring Aria, the fortune teller. Come be enchanted by her mysterious wiles as she reads your future. She will do some 8-bit arm motions before summoning a ring of cards that will float around her. Characters will be encouraged to pick a card -any card. Once one has been selected, it will turn around slowly and unveil a card from the major arcana. Aria will then give your character their fortune, and that will be that. End of game. Onto the next! PHASE III [ xxxx ] You’ve left the testing center, and the evening has passed. As you wake up to perform your normal daily tasks, a niggling urge emerges at the back of your mind. It’s faint at first, just a whisper of a suggestion that pokes at your brain like a mosquito bite. However, that bite starts to grow bigger and become infectious. As the day wears on, you find that one little suggestion escalating. The next day is even worse. It starts to dominate your every thought, making you carry out actions you never thought yourself capable of. Who is this person in the mirror? Who have you become? PHASE IV [ xxxx ] By day three, the impulse is now a full-blown addiction. It’s set into your psyche completely. You’ve become something else entirely –the embodiment of the card. You will be acting out everything without anymore resistance, and it won’t stop until the clock strikes midnight. That’s when you’ll reel back to your senses, and when it’ll all have felt like the worst dream ever. Or a nightmare really. BONUS [ whyo'clock ] Among all the games present, there is also an 8-bit version of CERESLearn. Yes, you remember the magical game that won your hearts over not too long ago. It will come complete with the same rules. You choose a subject, you choose an 8-bit teacher among the three (Astor), (Hilda), or (UN-Zippy), and you watch them as they try to erotically teach you what you want to learn. Is that an 8-bit boob or her arm? Who knows? But beware… as you may remember, these teachers house a very terrible secret. They will transform into an 8-bit giant bug that will chase around your protag as you guide them to run away with your finger, but you can also flick the bug on the holo(gm) screen to send them away for good. Those who figure out that little cheat code will immediately receive a special real-time shoulder rub as a reward from a robot that looks eerily like a carbon copy of their teacher of choice. [ Remember to apply proper warnings on threads with trigger-y or inappropriate material and do let a mod know if your thread careens off into maiming or canoodling so we can lock the log. ]

[Phase 1/2]

[This whole ordeal has been very confusing. But as Rock Lee understands it, he has to listen to these strange people in order to save everyone who is precious to him.

The hologram games are fascinating and mind-blowing for the youth. Even aside from the potential fun, he wants to be as diligent as possible, so he remains in his cubicle and keeps playing the games, animatedly pressing at the holo-screens and growing inreasingly excited as he does so.]

Ah... I never imagined anything like this! I must master it!

[Of course, he'll also have his share of rash moments resulting in flunked games, at which point he will loudly cry out in defeat.

Later, Rock Lee's eyes will be glued to the screen as his fortune is delivered...]

[Phase 3]

[Rock Lee begins to adjust to this new life and all of these unbelievable sights. But it's not long before he starts becoming aware that the true best sight around is his own mirror. That green jumpsuit which he typically love so much - he feels like he's getting in the way.

So as Lee wanders through the local areas, he'll be doing so with the sleeves and pant-legs of his jumpsuit rolled up. He will also be doing push-ups, sit-ups and jogging laps in a variety of random areas... but that's actually normal for Lee anyway.]

[Phase 4]

[For the first time in possibly ever, Rock Lee has left his jumpsuit at home. And he walks around wearing... just a pair of green shorts. (Just a little more covering than this. This is it - this is what feels right for Lee. He'll be exercising in overtime at various locations throughout the city. And when he meets people? He will greet them simply by silently flexing a muscle in the person's face. Or, one can find him lifting or trying to lift any of a number of heavy objects.]

This feat of strength... is a simple endeavor of youth!

[One can also find this man at the Ceres Food Market, where he is stocking up on various kinds of oils with his newfound money. Every now and then, he will hold up two different brands as if trying to appraise which is better.]

Phase 4

::After one of those feats of strength being demonstrated in the park, clapping can be heard from a nearby bench.::

That was pretty impressive for a human! Way to go!

::Prussia is sitting cross legged and... looking really human himself. So. What an odd way to phrase that compliment. At least he appears utterly unfazed by what Lee is wearing. Though that's the Sun influencing him, because ordinarily he'd be mocking the shit out of him right now.::

[Rock Lee smiles at the applause and presents some flexing in his general direction.]

Thank you, sir! I worked hard to become impressive as a human! In fact, I will perform any feat for you!

[ He may be eagerly waiting his fortune, but clinging to the base of the machine is... a teenager girl? She's sprawled out in what seems to be obvious defeat with puffy red cheeks. ]

[Rock Lee gasps as he turns to face the confused girl.]

What?! No! That can't be! [His own impending fortune is forgotten for the moment. Sad girl!]

Ah... That is a very interesting guess, sir! But please do not be concerned! As long as I wear this jumpsuit... I am sure that I will keep away such unfavorable fashions!

[Meanwhile, as Fuuka was walking around the area, she couldn't help but just...stare at him.]

Um...okay then? But aren't you going to get cold? I know you're strong but I'm afraid you could get sick!

[She said before trying to look around if there was anyone else who might be worried like her. But then again, it seemed like he wouldn't be the type who would listen. However, that didn't stop her from at least attempting to find a clothing store nearby! Put on some clothes, she can't even look you in the eyes without getting embarrassed!]

That is nothing to worry about. [He goes on with cheery confidence.] I do not mean any offense, but don't seem to be very sure of my strength, Miss! True strength... is stronger than cold or illness! I have warm feelings in my heart, so your worries have no need. I am enduring!

[Inaba's not the type of person to actively help others, though when she notices him scream in defeat, she feels as if she kind of has to help him. Just so that he won't complain even further...]

[His response is just a little muffled because he has his head pressed against the desk in shame.]

[ At first he thought it was a figment of his imagination, that a certain loudmouth is yelling somewhere down the cubicles he's working in. As Naruto continued to test more things, the yells from that certain cubicle is starting to irritate him even further, and not to mention getting even more familiar.

It was not until Lee's 5th or 6th yell of defeat that Naruto just barged in his cubicle with— ]

[ so milla walks by the first time, and rock lee is playing, awfully concentrated. the first cry of defeat. he sounds and looks invested, so milla sees fit to ignore him. she walks by the second time, food that's... not quite good in hand. rock lee's still there, rock lee still cries out in defeat, and she still sees fit to ignore him. then the third time she walks by. then the fourth.

and after the fifth time she just can't handle it anymore, so of course she walks to the entrance of his cubicle and: ]

How are you still doing this?

Guts! [He cries out as he aligns tetriminos on the screen, without looking away from it.] I'll never give up, Miss!

[ Well, at least someone's enthusiastic here. Then again, Rin's died an insane number of times at CERES trail. He can't keep everyone alive. They keep dying from alien attacks or space diphtheria. It's aggravating, and he's gritting his teeth and trying not to hit the screen in frustration. ]

Come on! Just let my crew live. Why do you keep killing them off!?

[ He keeps thinking of the crew as his teammates, so it's doubly worse. It's always Momo that dies off first, too.

His hands slowly loosen from the screen as he glances at the guy next to him who sounds embroiled in a victory of some sorts. He also has a haircut that's eerily similar to Ai's... it's a little jarring. He leans over to try and get a curious glimpse at his screen. ]

Oi, which game did they stick you with? I can't get passed this one. I've been on it for almost an hour now.

[ And what's with that weird get-up -he also wants to ask. He doesn't look like the type of guy who'd be good at this sort of thing... ]

"Baseball!" It is the third game I have cleared so far! [He says, cheering loudly.]

Ah, you need help with your own game? [Then he nods more solemnly.] I... I am sorry to hear about your crew...

[Why the hell is there an arm in his face? Why the hell is there another person in this world just as fixated on strength and training as Akihiko? This is terrible.

Scowling, Shinjiro takes a clear step backwards from the offender, hands shoved deep in his coat pockets in an attempt to not shove the guy out of his way.]

Stop shoving your arm in people's faces and go put a shirt on.

[He sounds more irritated than genuinely angry, at least.]

phase 3

[ At least watch out where you're jogging, Rock Lee..!! Heung Soo's walking with quite some packages in his hands - comes with the job, after all - across the street, so he can't quite see where he's going very well.

And combined with the other guy jogging around.. well, it ends in a near-collision. Thankfully, considering Heung Soo didn't feel like picking up all of these again later. ]

Aish.. [ Muttered under his breath, and then he turns his head to try and look at the other guy. ]
