Who: Kashuu Kiyomitsu
adornmental & you!
When: Slightly before and during the event
Where: Apartments + around town!
What: Kashuu deals with forgetting stupid things, being cold forever and memory shares
Rating/Warning: Memories of sword death and emperor death and probably some other deaths, it's time for a death party
A, swordhaus:
[SO, sometime before the wispy spirit animals show up but after the elemental effects set in, Kashuu can be found... freezing his ass off. It only took him the better part of a day to figure out what was triggering his weird flashbacks, so now he's sitting by the open window with a fan in as few pieces of clothing as possible (which is still a lot, honestly), eating a popsicle. He's definitely shivering... Maybe he went too far in the opposite direction?!]
This is so stupid! This is seriously the worst—! [But you know what will keep his soul warm even in the face of hypothermia? Salty, salty complaints. MMM, YES.
Anyone wandering by either in the apartment itself or walking past the window will be dragged into this salt session, either with a jealous look and a:] What, are you warm? [Or, a sympathetic look to anyone else who seems to be trying to become an igloo, and a peace offering of another pospicle.]
B, park/dojo:
[The wispy animals have shown up! Kashuu's already tried and failed to talk to his, but he does at least have some control over it, being a spirit himself.
Granted, he has to actually be paying attention to it in order for perfect control to be A Thing, and he can't devote his attention to it 24/7...
So here are the perfect times to bump into his little fox friend; either when he's doing his best to lead a class in the dojo despite all of the tomfoolery going on, or when he's on his way to or from said building and trying to plan the rest of his day out on his phone. His attention is gone and WHOOSH, SO IS THIS SKITTERISH FOX. That catches his eye, at least, though maybe not quite fast enough--]
Woah, hey— Watch out!
[AND THERE HE GOES, TOO, tripping over this fox that he can't even touch. Congrats, you get a double whammy of being knocked to the ground and then slammed with a memory.]
C, shopping district:
[By now, he's bumped into enough people that the lovely memory loss side effects are starting to show...
On one hand, he got off pretty lucky?! He hasn't forgotten any people yet, or significant events - as far as he knows, anyway. On the other...]
Ow—! Ugh... Sorry, sorry. [He may have just crashed into you/a store mannequin/a display case, because he's wearing some pretty tall heels but he sure doesn't remember how to walk in them gracefully anymore. NICE.
His sad, sad fox is still tailing him around out here too, of course, though he's getting a little irritated now that he's put two and two together. This thing needs to stop touching people?! Just, stop! Just stop!! While he's picking himself/you/this mannequin arm off the floor, he gives it a miffed look, even though it's already darted off again.]
This is your fault, y'know. Just calm down for like, five seconds!
WILDCARD:
[Hit me up with any scenario that floats your boat!]
[ooc; If we haven't plotted anything out yet, just let me know if you want a good or bad memory! If there's nothing specific you want, I'll just reach into my paintrain grabbag and give you something random. I'm down for memory swaps too, of course!]

C IS FOR C-SHOPPING
Until something crash? The noise got his attention, temporarily breaking his focus away from his fox as he looks over. Oh, Kashuu knocked over a display. What happened? During this brief moment, Sayo's fox skitters away and over towards Kashuu...]
Kashuu-san?
[Sayo's quickly moving over, checking on his comrade out of concern. He'll find his fox again in a bit.]
PICKS UP SAYO TIME FOR SHOPPING ADVENTURES
[Glancing over toward the sound of his voice...! WITH EMBARRASSMENT because geez, he just can't remember how to walk in heels, he can still remember that he should know. He's kneeling down, collecting the various hats that have fallen off of this Hat Display™, and his own fox has trotted off for the time being. He doesn't seem to have noticed Sayo's either, yet - he's mostly just focused on rapidly picking this mess up so no one stares.
It's too late.
People are staring.]
Uh— Just, like, gimme a second-- [SPEED CLEANING.]
SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES AND REVENGE
Probably why he didn't see his fox slowly moving closer. Since Sayo's not looking at it directly, it can move closer and closer. And then it kind of walks through Kashuu's legs...
—He's looking up at a noble looking man with a wary, cautious gaze. In the man's hands was an unsheathed tantou, holding it carefully with a thoughtful gaze. Then, the man started to speak.
"When I was young I thought about crossing this mountain again when I'm old, it's because I'm still alive at this age now that I'm able to do so."
Hearing those words, especially the reference to those mountains ("Sayo no Nakayama"), made the spirit blink for a moment. And again when he saw the smile forming on the man's face, as look at the tantou with a faintly familiar expression. He saw it before, on the late mother's face at her family, before that incident...
Fondness? Love?
"Your name shall be Sayo Samonji."
There's a strange feeling inside of him, Sayo Samonji wasn't sure how to feel about this new name of his—
Meanwhile, outside of memory land, a certain tantou looks over at Kashuu after he finished picking up enough hats and stacking them into a small hat tower for him to carry.]
Are you ready to put them back?
DONT SHOP FOR THAT SAYO
Which is to say-- Even though this memory isn't traumatic or explosive, suddenly tripping face-first into someone else's past is still pretty disorienting. A lot about the way Sayo is experiencing feelings is familiar, too; it reminds him of how things were back when he was still trying to figure out how human emotions worked. A lot of confusion, a lot of not being sure about things.
The name comes, and he understands what he's watching, at least - even though the person is completely unfamiliar to him, it's easy enough to piece things together now. So this is that man--
And then, before he can focus on much else, the memory is already dispersing, leaving Kashuu disoriented and sitting there with a handful of hats.]
—Did you-- see that? Just now...
BUT WHERE ELSE CAN HE GET THEM
... See what? I haven't seen anything just now.
[Beside Kashuu's disastrous hats problem.]
HOW ABOUT NOWHERE?!
[He's so tired of this place. He's tired of this place and its shenanigans. He wants to step off this wild ride!!]
I'm pretty sure I just saw - uh. Well, you. I mean, it was definitely you, and I think it was real.
[What a roundabout way of saying "so I think I just saw one of your memories".]
WHERE IS NOWHERE?!
Sayo just blinks, before he frowns a bit.]
... What did you see?
[Give him the details, all of it.]
what a deeply philosophical q..
That said, he closes his eyes for a second, briefly recounting the images he'd just seen.]
—Someone who was talking to you. [That stood out first and foremost, since it's not like any of their wielders could actually see them.] And he said he was gonna name you after those mountains. He said he was gonna cross 'em again, too.
the q for the ages
Name me after those mountains? [He... knows which mountains, but the most important part is what Sayo's saying next.] But I don't have a name.
[He's just... a nameless Samonji sword.]
no subject
...You don't remember it? It's Sayo, y'know. Sayo Samonji.
[He wonders if Sayo remembers anything about that conversation, or if it's just all evaporated into nothingness... Hopefully just for the time being.]
no subject
Sayo Samonji...
[He shake his head. Nope, he doesn't remember. But the fact is that he doesn't remember being named—was he ever named? Or is this a trick?—and Kashuu's telling him about this is worrying.]
... No, I don't. Is that really my name?
[It sounds nice, but the associations... What kind of weirdo go for that?]
no subject
Kashuu's expression is pretty dead serious, at least, so it probably doesn't seem like he's just pulling his leg for shits and giggles.]
Yeah, it is. I just saw where it came from and everything but we've always known you as Sayo. ...I mean, like - the ones who met you at the Citadel, anyway.
no subject
probablydefinitely suffer if he do this for shits and giggles. So it's not hard for Sayo, even if the name gives him an odd feeling, to believe him.]... I believe you, but... I don't remember it. [He's trying to think back to his citadel days. Do anyone of them call him by that name in his memories?] Who named me?
[Might as well learn who was the weirdo's responsible for it.]
no subject
That's pretty rough, though. Some people have forgotten pretty vital things or things that are important to them, but he's never seen anyone forget their own name yet.]
Um— [HE ALSO DOESN'T KNOW THIS EITHER. It's far enough in the past that he's not brushed up on the history, and even though Sayo's mentioned the name before, it doesn't immediately spring to mind. So instead:] Well, he looked pretty noble, and-- [Just gonna describe what that guy looked like. He knows Sayo will understand exactly who he's talking about.]
...I think he loved you a lot, too.
no subject
Lord Hosokawa Fujitaka...?
[You know. That explains so much about the name. He looks down at the (still?!) scattered hats.]
... I believe it's him. He did ask for me a lot...
[The persistence in his requests to the castle lord pop up into his mind for a moment.]
no subject
Hosokawa sounds familiar. You're probably right about that... But you seriously can't remember being named, huh?
[Less a question and more an exasperated statement. He sure is tired of this place yanking on everyone's chains.]
no subject
That's right... I was in the Hosokawa clan for a while. [A "while" being one or two generations. A spirit's sense of time is a little off from a human's. Whether Kashuu can see it or not, there's a frown on Sayo's face.] And I don't remember being named... It's strange.
[Out of all the things, why that memory? Why that moment? He looks up at Kashuu.]
I don't know why I don't remember that memory, out of all my other ones...
[Wouldn't his darker memories be more of an easier target? Did CERES get bored of flaunting his memories??]
no subject
Nooo idea. Is there ever a reason behind the stuff they do? If there is, it's gone way over my head, anyway.
[Assuming there's rhyme or reason at all. In some things, there certainly are, but he thinks moments like this are more or less up to the roll of fate.]
Where's your animal now, anyway? You should keep an eye on him so you don't forget anything else.
no subject
My animal? I'm watching him since he appeared.
[And then this happened. Sayo glances around for it. It takes him a moment to find the fox... sitting on a hat? He blinks at it and it moves over towards another hat. Sayo follow its movements, blinking at it.]
He's over there on that hat. [CAN KASHUU SEE HIM. But the hat itself looks rather fancy. Ichigo Hitofuri-fancy.]
no subject
[POINTING... So it's probably apparent he can't actually see the animal, but he points to the right one, at least. That sure is a fancy-looking hat.]
But yeah - those guys are behind basically all of this, I think. Every time they bump into someone else, the whole "I'm gonna barf and I can't remember stuff and you saw a memory" thing happens. Suuuper inconvenient, especially 'cause no one else can see yours but you.
no subject
[Time to... slowly take a single step closer to The Fancy Hat and the fox only Sayo can see.]
Is there a way to keep them from running off? [Maybe Kashuu knows a method?! Sayo doesn't want to trouble anyone else with his darker memories. Take another step closer...]
no subject
[Granted, even concentrating isn't always fool-proof... Kashuu's fox has bumped into approximately 500000 people in one day even though he tries to keep as close an eye on it as possible.]
no subject
[Time to concentrate and focus! What should he think? Focus on the fox and think "stay there"?
Closer and closer... fox isn't running away. Wait, is it sleeping on the hat? Sayo stops in front of it.]
... It's not running away. [Yet.] ... Should we buy the hat for it? I don't know if it likes it.
[It's a fancy hat, but have a nice blue design... As much as Sayo can see when the fox is on top of it.]
no subject
[He can't tell it's sleeping on it, obviously, or else he'd be like buy that shit immediately. But it's not like an extra hat could hurt!]
It'd be a cute accessory for you once all this is done, too.
no subject
The fox's not running off.
Until laterAnyway, now that he's holding it, Sayo's looking at the hat and the fox in his hands. He looks... mildly conflicted?!
WHAT'S WRONG...]
