![]() Welcome to CERES Research Tower’s latest event! For all you new folk queuing outside of the conference room where you were just made to sit through a lovely power point presentation, you will be asked to stay a bit longer and test out some games in their Game Testing Center. It’s a giant space located in the basement level filled to the brim with cubicles for everyone to sit in and enjoy their newest array of pop-up games. The games themselves will be in holo(gm) form and will feature suggestions from CEO’s post, including a simplified, 8-bit version of Tetris, Baseball, Soda Smash, etc. Characters can control the game through moving their fingers and tapping them against the holo(gm) screens. Surrounding the cubicles will be tables of food and more food for characters to partake in. It’s all safe this time. No mind-altering candy corn or gut-exploding Knight Burgers. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the party. For those who have been in Cerealia for a while, they should have received an invitation to the event and an offer of 1,000 credits just for participating. So come on down and bring a friend or ten! Meanwhile, CEO has a small welcome for everyone-

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest event and intro post AND OUR VERY FIRST OVERFLOW. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing what's going on right here and feel free to consult the FAQ if needed. Please leave any lingering questions in the OOC post, and we'll answer them as soon as we can. If this post goes into overflow, we will make a new one to deal with the ever-hated captcha! Worry not! |
Elliot Nightray
Regardless of that Lily puts her focus onto the Nightray know his name from memory. This boy was Vincent's adoptive brother, not the one she threatened. That was one of her first mistakes when she arrived in this world. Vincent was rather quick to correct that error. Still the person before her does seem concerned.]
I tried to let him know he was mine...he wanted me to leave, I don't wanna.
[Then he says the name of the person and she zones in on him. There is a spike of danger. He was Vincent's brother...did he want to separate them?]
...yes. Are you?
no subject
He is genuinely concerned, just like he was when those children in Isla Yura's mansion came swinging at him with the full-blooded intent to decapitate him, but he admittedly doesn't handle yanderes very well??? It's all too transparent at the shock momentarily transposed over his features before he levels out the larger portion of his utter incomprehension to reply in full coherence.
ANYWAYS, now that he's found a convenient loophole to dodge that emotionally-charged question: ] Was Vincent the one who inflicted that injury on you?
no subject
Regardless she fixes her gaze onto Elliot, ready to summon her chain if he seems like he might take what's her's. Luckily for the other he asks a better question and it causes her to loosen up, even just a tad. Still watching him she nods her head in reply before she speaks, working on trying to wipe some blood away from her eyes.]
Yes...he was being weird. [Well...more than usual.]
no subject
He's truly out of the loop, because as far as he's concerned she's just some misguided child with a penchant for hanging with the wrong crowd. But considering he'd already seen such a large outcropping of people arriving from their world lately, maybe he'd finally rout out the answer to these crazy shenanigans once and for all.
Awkwardly, Elliot searches his pockets to retrieve a hankerchief and pass it over to Lily, who's clearly having a fine and dandy time wiping her face free of blood. ]
That doesn't make sense. In all the years I've known him, I've never seen him react violently to a child once.
[ LITTLE DID HE KNOW ... ]
... Weird how?
no subject
The loop was so much harder to understand. Lily was happy with the Baskervilles though, they were her family...she loves them. After all her real family wasn't something that many would ever want to deal with.
For a moment she stops wiping the blood away, instead she reaches and grabs the handkerchief. Unfolding it she presses it to her face and gets the blood away from her eyes.]
...He's a Baskerville...he's my friend and mine.
[The little bit about violence towards children is lost to her for the moment.]
He told me I should leave.
no subject
[ Not that he's all that aware of the company Vincent keeps or that his brother's a literal psychopath, but it's just like Elliot to jump to conclusions without proper evidence or much of a lead beyond plain instinct. He just casually averts his gaze while Lily dabs away at her face, hastily shoving his hands into his pockets. ]
I'm sure he had a reason. My brother isn't one to present himself unreasonably. If you'd like, I could ask him myself for the reason he turned you away. At the time, he may have merely been preoccupied with other matters.
no subject
[This man was sharp...she is more cautiousness now about him being around her friends. She doesn't want him to get too close, it will create problems for her. Whether they are adoptive family or not! For now she focuses on her face and pulls the hankie away when she gets most of the blood off.]
He came out of no where tell me to go. No. I can do it.
feel free to ignore, i'm so sorry ;;;;;
[ Hands caught at his sides, he turns back at last, staring evenly at her. It occurs to him that he still doesn't know much about her, in all truth and honesty. ]
Suit yourself, then.
[ And with that he's off down the street because the last thing he wants is to get in the middle of some internal dispute — Vincent would hate the intrusion, and that girl, in her current state, seems more inclined to throttle him than pay him any real heed. ]
You're fine!!! <3
[Honestly she was too but it was weird, he was mean to her but never like this.]
...huh?
[She watches as he turns to leave. There was a sinking feeling in her gut, he might try to go towards her friends. She can't have that! So she starts to follow him.]
i'm so not but you're so kind?!?!
[ Ha, ha, ha.
He tacks on his frustration like an addendum. Normally he would pursue something like this, but Vincent helped him decide what course of action he wanted to take at the eleventh hour, gave him a choice when there shouldn't have been any at all. Anyways, it's better if he brings Leo around first — given the strange way they've spoken of each other as of late, he'd know what the hell's up with everyone nowadays.
In the same regard, he pulls up short as soon as he spots that girl still traipsing along the wake of his shadow until he pivots, sharp on his heel, to accost her. ]
... What? Do you need help getting to the hospital?
[ ELLIOT, NO, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU SHOULD TALK TO CHILDREN ... but he is a big baby about everything anyways, so ... is this really unexpected ... ]
Liiies <3 You are amazing!
[But he's also her friend, not yours Elliot. Remember that!
The sudden turn nearly makes her fall over before she grounds herself. Looking up at him, there is still a haze to her gaze before she looks around them. Then back to Elliot. It was true, she didn't know where the place was nor did she really want to go there. It wasn't something that seemed like fun.]
Never been to one.
no subject
[ Completely ignoring the first portion of her reply, he sure does latch onto the latter, because the disparity of a girl covered in blood and her insensibility to anything resembling professional care is just too disconcerting for a Victorian nerd. ]
I'll take you there, then. Even if your wounds aren't as terrible as they appear, they should still be examined properly first before drawing assumptions. Follow me.
no subject
[This man is so excitable...for a moment she's not sure how to respond to the reaction. Lily was usually the one to bounce from one thing to another it's a little weird to have someone else do it.]
Okay? ...What will they do there?
no subject
What else?! They'll look after that gaping wound in your head! You can't be serious — if you leave it out in the open like this, it'll surely become infected. And I'll be damned if I stand idly by while you bleed out on the streets.
no subject
...are they scary?
no subject
I don't know. My family has our own private physician, and I've never been in inordinately bad health before.
[ Save for Sablier and everything that subsequently came after, but whatever. ]
Are you scared? There's nothing to be afraid of.
no subject
I've never needed to see one!
[Baskervilles really didn't get sick as far as she knew...]
N-No! [In reality she kind of is, she has not idea what to expect.]
no subject
[ OBVIOUSLY. ] Then that's something that's changing today. Is that clear? I'm not leaving you here by yourself.
no subject
[She is still unsure but if he won't leave.]
Promise?
no subject
[ THAT SETTLED, he sets their sights on the hospital — he's been here for quite a while, so he's more than acquainted with the general radius. Even if she isn't that shocked by the wound bleeding out in thick rivulets down her forehead, he is. Having a moral backbone sucks. ]
no subject
[The hole was already pretty much closed but there was some blood remaining despite what she wiped away.]
