Welcome to the CERES! You are now under arrest!

Did you think the glitches were over? Boy, were you wrong! Through the last remnants of the digital kerfluffle, the latest batch of recovered code has manifested in CERES' computer systems as the guilty parties. Yes, that's right, all incoming arrivals are now placed on the wanted list, accused of having committed the heinous crime of creating and releasing the gorg0n virus all over Cerealia. These vicious twelve have been working together all along and conspiring against CERES, and it's now up to everyone to figure out if the new arrivals are truly guilty or if they are as innocent and confused as they claim.

In the meantime, CERES has dispatched assassination droids to stop the accused and bring them to justice via disembowelment. So while CERES rushes to stop the droids from committing murder, characters are perfectly welcome to a.) soil themselves b.) fight off the droids c.) run while soiling themselves or d.) cry a lot. e.) ask for assistance!

"ASSASSINATION MODE: ONLINE
OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE THE ACCUSED
TIMEFRAME: 24:00 HOURS

JUDICIAL UNIT-00345 DISPATCHED"

//SCENARIOS.EXE
PHASE I
[ 00:01 ] It's a minute passed midnight, and the newest sets of recovered code are being spat out of ViViD and into Cerealia. Before the joyful reunions begin, an announcement starts blaring through everyone's computer screen, TV sets, devices, billboard screens, and so on. The image flashes with twelve names and twelve pictures along with a list of crimes each person has committed. They continue to flash again and again throughout the colony, alerting everyone of these heinous criminals. It's up to anyone if they want to engage them or stay far, far away from these perverts and miscreants.

As the arrivals begin to explore, they will see themselves plastered on just about every screen imaginable.
PHASE II
[ 2:00 ] It's still dark outside, hardly anyone out and about. It's the perfect time for an assassination attempt because that's when the information is received and processed by Cerealia's judicial system, but this isn't a job for any ordinary donut-eating cop. No, this is far greater than that. They bring out the big guns.

Twelve assassination droids, clad in armor and carrying katana, are immediately dispatched and sent to take out each of the accused at any cost. Characters are welcome to do any of the above choices while veterans to Cerealia can assist the arrivals, assist the droids, or just sit back and watch others suffer. It's completely up to you. They can also run into the droids on their search and try to interact with them.
PHASE III
[ 7:00 ] Your friendly CEO has finally gotten his ass out of bed, but by then, who knows how many people are left alive? After hearing of the kerfluffle, he decides to issue a cease and desist on the assassination droids, and instead, has his investigation units step in to confirm that the new arrivals are not guilty of any of the crimes and charges listed under their name. They will be pulled aside for painful, painful questioning before being released to explore as they wish.

To make up for all the damages and trauma incurred from the near-death attempts, Julius will also be giving the new arrivals a settlement of 20,000 credits each, so go out and party.
PHASE IV
[ 12:00 ] By noon, the incident has been cleared up with little to no blood spilled (hopefully). New arrivals are welcome to explore and enjoy their new living arrangements or possibly lie in bed and just cry some more. Either way, welcome to the magic that is Cerealia. The CEO will announce that the last of the virus has been officially cleaned up and taken care of, and he'll be issuing a video with a public apology for all.

BONUS
[ why:o'clock ] Among the police droids dispatched, there will be a rehabilitative droid in a dinosaur suit, looking to cure the criminals of their improper behavior and their moral indiscretions through the power of LOVE and HUGS. It was developed after the researchers in CERES did extensive research on other worlds and found that this mystical creature was capable of creating worldwide joy and cheer. It will be chasing those who are on the Wanted List exclusively, but it will not stop at just them. Your character will be accosted and hugged whether they like it or not.

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's arrival experience and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you!

[This is really, really sad. A grown man fighting a fluffy dinosaur would be sad in any circumstances, really, but when he's losing? He probably needs some help.]

They're not ones for reasoning, unfortunately. If you let it do its task, it will probably leave you alone!

[Says the guy standing far, far back, hopefully away from the android's range. Look, he doesn't want to be touched any more than Sousei does, and can you blame him?]
deontology: (V.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-15 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[This is how far he has fallen on this horrible, horrible day. But honestly, he can't just...chop off its head. It's not actually committing any crimes, aside from irritating the hell out of him.

As much as he'd like to, he can't claim that as a crime.

But his gaze shifts over to the other, who is standing very sensibly away from this robot, and his voice is flat and calm, as if he wasn't holding off an android with one arm on its face.]

The others I've come across have attempted to kill me. I don't intend to trust this one either.

[Even if he looks none the worse for wear... well, they have swords. Sending androids with swords after him was a gross underestimation.]
changeably: (Now it's night)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-15 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's fair enough, and Cynbel nods in sympathy. But this sad show really can't go on, so they'll have to find another way to handle it.]

Oh! Well, if they're being dangerous, then you might try making sure it can't move. Perhaps tying it up would work?

[That seems like a decent idea to him, but it doesn't satisfy his robot grudge.]

Or you could break it, but they might ask for money to fix it...

[No, no, now we're in terrible idea territory.]
deontology: (X.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-16 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Tying it up would work, if he had something to tie it up with. Where is the Yamainu when he could actually use them? Come on, guys, now would be a great time...even if then they'd see how far their captain has fallen. But you know. Whatever.

For his part, rather tired of fending off this costumed monstrosity, Sousei just neatly sidesteps it, allowing its momentum to carry it into a wall.

He'll just watch it as it sets to standing back up then, rather flatly--]

If they did not wish for their creations to be broken, they should not have set them on us like this without warning or explanation. [That much he feels strongly about.

So when it next comes at him, he'll avoid it again, and then bring his still sheathed sword down on the legs, one after another. There's a truly horrible metallic noise, but at the very least, the robot can't stand up and go after them now. It's...kind of a pitiful sight, on the ground like that.]
changeably: (Just can't be satisfied)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-16 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pitiful on its own is still better than the nonsense that Sousei was participating in just before, so that's just fine with Cynbel. He had his hands over his ears while Sousei breaks the poor thing's legs, but he lowers them once it's over and blinks in surprise.]

That was very impressive!

[He claps, politely, as if that whole thing was a show put on for his amusement. But he stops after a few seconds, because there's a more serious issue at hand here.

Basically: do the robot owners have insurance?
]

But you may want to run, before they catch you. The oddness of the machines recently is because of some criminal, and breaking them might make you more suspicious!
deontology: (V.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-16 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Th...anks...?? He's not particularly interested in praise of his skill, nor is he interested in being a show, so aside from the slightest of bows of his head, he doesn't respond to that.

More importantly--]

I am not going to run from the consequences of my actions. [Why would he even do that. This is how un-criminal he is.] They have no evidence against me, as I've committed no crime. If that does not matter, then my actions will also not matter.

[Basically if they're set on calling him a criminal even without evidence, they'll call him a criminal no matter what he does, so...yolo.]
changeably: (My pulse is beating fast)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-17 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Huh. What a stubborn, straight-laced sort of guy. Cynbel doesn't meet many of these too often, mostly because he tends to set them off with how mouthy he gets, so this is a treat.]

Is breaking the belongings of the people in charge without permission not a crime where you come from?

[Don't get him wrong, here. He doesn't think Sousei was at all unjustified in what he did. He just doesn't enjoy getting in trouble for that kind of thing, and if there's a place where you can get away with it, he'd love to visit.]

Even so, it will be easier to continue on without being bothered if you aren't here when they investigate! If you weren't wrong, you don't have any need to stay and explain yourself, after all.
deontology: (VIII.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-17 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes...have fun with his killjoy attitude. Breaking the belongings of the people in charge, huh... Somehow, that actually amuses him, though it doesn't show on his face. Breaking the belongings of the people in charge? Isn't he guilty of that crime a hundred times over at this point, with the Orochi and how they're dealing with it?

Sometimes, the people in charge have things that need to be broken.]

Probably. [He doesn't care.] I won't stay here long regardless. If there are others that can't defend themselves, then... [well.] I'll be breaking more belongings.
changeably: (Now it's night)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-20 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well...

[He pauses, tapping his chin with one finger as he thinks this over. Should he dissuade Mr. Straightlaced, or not? Is it worth it?]

So long as you don't get caught, I won't say anything about it. They don't deserve any help keeping their machines intact, when they can't even control them properly.

[So, he's kind of agreeing to be an accessory in Sousei's crime. Whether this is a good or a bad idea remains to be seen, but there's no love lost between himself and the robots.]
deontology: (VII.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[You probably...shouldn't......but of anyone, agreeing to be accessory to Sousei's crimes of all people is probably pretty safe and tame.

Probably.

But in response, Sousei simply inclines his head, understanding.]

Very well. ...It is appreciated. [Just that he's not going to go blabbing and trying to get more trouble happening, since other people have been Problems.

He still has to go help other people, but he can at least pause for this.]

...My name is Abe no Sousei. [Nice to meet you, not-as-troublesome-as-you-could-have-been.]
changeably: (Bright the sun)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-21 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's not very good at following the law or judging people, honestly. He just happened to get lucky this one time. It's probably going to encourage the bad decisions, in the long run... Oops!

Because he's being treated politely, he doesn't see anything wrong with this, so he smiles.
]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Sousei.

[He puts one hand on his chest and bows shallowly, straightening up before continuing.]

My name is Cynbel Lightfoot.
deontology: (XVI.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-22 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, don't make him smack you around for really bad decisions, because he will.... That was a slightly unusual bow, but it matches the unusual name.

In this unusual place.

Sousei should probably stop judging things by his own standards at some point, he's rapidly realizing. There's a pause while he works out that name. Cynbel...Lightfoot. Right. Okay.]

Very well then. [They've exchanged pleasantries, and now he should probably keep moving.]

Perhaps we may talk again at greater length when this has been resolved. For now, however, I believe I should continue.

[You know, murdering assassinbots, causing property damage issues, etc.]
changeably: (Default)

[personal profile] changeably 2014-10-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
[By this point, Cynbel's practiced enough with Japanese names (because there sure are a lot of people from that land around here) that his pronunciation is pretty good. He can let Sousei take his time with Cynbel's, just to be fair.]

Oh, certainly. I wouldn't want to keep you from your task.

[Smashing robots is a very, very valuable public service in his eyes, so he won't hold Sousei up, if he needs to be going.

He backs off, moving to walk towards an exit, waving a hand as he goes.
]

Until next time, Mr. Sousei. In the meantime, do try to not get arrested!
deontology: (XVII.)

[personal profile] deontology 2014-10-25 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sousei doesn't acknowledge the wave by waving back (that would be way too simple clearly) but he does nod in response to both that and the comment.

And then, easy as can be, he turns on his heel and strides off.

Onwards to more property damage...!!]
