![]() A few weeks prior to December 26th, an invitation went out to all whom already reside in Cerealia. In delicate, curling script, it read: You are cordially invited by Natalia L.K. Lanvaldear to a Winter Ball to be held on the Eve of December 26th in the Gardens. Dress in your best attire and enjoy a magical evening of dance and fine cuisine. What do you mean we should fuss about worlds being destroyed? Get into the holiday spirit, you scrooge! And in regards to the new-comers: whether you have been wandering Cerealia over the course of the past few days and managed to receive one of the later waves of invitations or have simply suddenly appeared in the gardens with nothing but the (hopefully…. appropriate….) clothes on your back, welcome. The gardens have been transformed through the work of

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post! This one is player-run and all the basics have been laid out for you here. Absolutely feel free to come up with your own prompts, I just attempted to set the scenery! For your convenience, I whole-heartedly welcome questions and inquiries being directed to my attention here and I'll answer them to the best of my ability! |

So this small woman in a dark dress comes up to him and just holds out her hand, almost discreetly, to the side for his glass.]
no subject
He has no idea who she is, of course, but what really matters is that she's there and she's not even questioning his skill or trying to save him. No, she's just analyzing the problem and offering up the easiest solution.
He passes the glass over simply, and in the next movement, neatly slides his sword from its sheath and, with a flick of his wrist, severs the branch at his wrist. It's a neat, simple movement, no extra maneuvers wasted. And then he sheathes it again, nodding to her.]
Thank you. That was helpful.
no subject
She holds his glass safely in hand, not that it even took long at all, since he made clean work of that branch in just a flash. Her eyes widen a little in approval, before she holds his glass out for him to take it again once he had settled down.]
You are very welcome. I was able to witness such impressive work.
no subject
I can't say being stuck in that position was particularly impressive.
[even if his swordwork is pretty solid.]
no subject
A-ah, no, I meant your skill. That was impressive. Being in such a situation on the other hand was unfortunate. But I am glad that it is over.
[For now. She shoots a quick glance towards the tree.]
no subject
I had a very skilled master. [naturally....
as for the rest, he just nods towards the path, further away from the trees.]
Walk that way--there are more properly trimmed trees. [that will presumably not try to grab them.]
no subject
A skilled master and a skilled student. Then the world is truly blessed. [Since she can really appreciate hard work and a good fighter. Now if only she knew that this was the same Sousei that Tenka was talking about, because that would explain everything.
She nods as he quietly indicated the path, and starts to head in that direction, after waiting for him.]
Alright. I am surprised, it didn't seem like there was going to be a problem when we inspected the area.
no subject
I suspect that this place attempts to cause as much trouble as possible. In that case, the trees may have been perfectly normal when you inspected it, or acted as though they were.
[so troublesome...]
It is no fault of yours.
no subject
There's half a scowl at his suggestion, because it sounds Very True.]
That sounds legitimate. I hope others will be safe. [Since it's not like they can watch everyone.]
no subject
Either way, for now, he tilts his head.]
I suspect they will be, but if you are concerned, it would be sensible to set a watch in the gardens.
[by the trees....
but sousei, then people can't escape prying eyes to ~canoodle~]
no subject
She looks back at the trees now they are a safe distance away from them.]
That would be wise. Perhaps security can be requested to keep watch there. There doesn't seem to be trouble anywhere else.
[Too bad for those people who wanna get their game on and get lucky. They can share with the vines.]
no subject
The main part of the ball does not seem to be afflicted with anything, no.
[so it'd just be...these outskirts.]
I will keep an eye on those I find as well, while I am out here. [and not.....making a break for freedom.]
no subject
Mm, it would be a shame for it to affect the rest of the ball.
[She nods, with her own...offer?! Which probably means he won't be able to run at all.] I will do the same. I am unfortunately unarmed, but I will be fine with fists alone.
[Her feet can't do shit in this dress.]
no subject
...You are...going to punch the tree branches.
[does he have this right
your plan is to
punch trees
have you ever punched a tree before? That shit hurts.]
no subject
She doesn't even seem to be unfazed by his comment. Hey she's strong enough.]
Were they very strong? [Because if she couldn't rip them to shreds, she'll need another option.] I would borrow some of the cookware, but I wouldn't want to blunt a kitchen knife.
[No wait...she gets it now. Oh ho ho slightly embarrassed.] A-ah, it is not a very well thought out, I know.
no subject
Do you normally use a weapon? We are not so far from the Residential district.
[You could just...go get it..... he can hold down the fort.]
no subject
But he's super responsible, all should be fine!]
I do...well, it is large, but I have been gifted another which is small enough to conceal. [Unlike him who has his sword by his sword, she needs a place to put it. Probably against her leg.] I could go get it, but would it be okay to leave you alone for a few minutes?
[inb4 Tieria's fire happens while she was gone.]
