But merely being crazy is not a reason. And what does that have to do with being a bastard or not?

Having connections is a weakness. [ however, kanda's tone is more indifferent than truly warning or at all emotional. ] They'll get to the Order any way they can, including threatening others.

[ and as for her extremely literal understanding of his explanation, kanda just sighs explosively and shakes his head. sorry, veronica... ]

Because others will try to hurt you through them? But what of the connections you make where you will protect each other from harm? Surely those are a strength and not a weakness. [She's not sure what to make of how indifferent he sounds about it.]

Have you been threatened before? [Since he obviously knows about the Black Order and Akuma wanted to destroy it.

As for that sigh....she wonders if it's because he doesn't know the reason.]

If they can't take care of themselves, then it's a weakness.

They can learn, and I am certain that they will.

And I have never personally been in a war. [She was a princess and those tended not to get put in a place where they could be in danger.] But I am sorry that it has happened to you, nonetheless. It should not have.

[ he pauses, looking at her. shouldn't have? a war is a war no matter the reasons behind it, and he was always made to be a soldier. ]

Still happened. [ a shrug. ] Even if it wasn't supposed to.

Just because it has indeed happened does not make it right.

[And she can say this so easily probably because she's never been in a war and all she had were ideals and an innocent (but unshakeable) belief in things like justice and doing the right thing.]

I think it matters more simply because I do not get it. I wish to understand.

[Her tone is much more neutral though, seeing as how he seems to be getting angry again. She won't push if he tries to move on.]

[ kanda's easily aggravated at the best of times, and right now he's on edge. he makes an tetchy noise and turns away, ready to leave without further comment. ]

[She's simply watching calmly as he turns away, without first giving her an answer. She really had been serious about accepting the consequences and she's sure she hasn't done anything wrong.]

What...is the matter?

[She doesn't know if she'll actually get an answer or if he'll just continue and leave but it's worth a try, at least.]
