[ Said straight-faced, so dry it has to be a joke.

He snickers, which kind of ruins it. ]

If there's more than one we'll split up. Less likely to get skewered together.

[ He pauses, craning his neck in the direction of distant noises, and turns, putting a hand on Kuramochi's shoulder to push him if he doesn't follow.

He lowers his voice a little. ]

I think it's far enough off we're fine, but better safe than sorry.

[ Nothing's dramatic when you're the one killing the mood, Miyuki. Kuramochi's face is probably obvious with his thoughts as he gives a frown at the other's laugh.

Instead of saying it out loud, he goes to focus more on the current situation as he looks over at the direction Miyuki's looking at too. ]

...Yeah, you got that right.

[ There's a part of him that's hoping it wouldn't have to get down to that, but he'll prepare himself for the worst case scenario. He follows closely to Miyuki as they start moving. ]

So you ran into anyone else?

[pickoffs]

[ Now that he's noticed the noises, they're basically impossible not to notice, keeping his nerves on edge until they've put enough distance between them and whatever nasty thing with a dozen legs and two hundred teeth was moving around. ]

Nobody we knew, but yeah, I've met some people. You?

[ His curiosity has a little hope to it, but Kuramochi seemed too surprised when they met to have seen any teammates. ]

Same here. No one we know.

[ He doesn't really like this situation, because that means so far it's just the two of them from their world. Grose. ]

But I've ran into a bunch of other people too.

[pickoffs]

Who picked what got backed up, because you'd think they'd pick better people than just us...

[ Seeing as both of them are assholes.

He nods. ]

Me too. Taught me how to use this stupid thing, even. [ He rocks his wrist up and down to move the spear across his shoulder so it's obvious. ]

Don't ask me. I'm surprised they decided to keep you too.

[ Mister Useless-outside-of-baseball. ]

Whoa, someone had the heart to help you out? I thought you'd be the first one to get killed by those weird guys.

[ Is he being sarcastic? Maybe. Who knows. ]

What, you don't think they wanted to have someone around who doesn't kick people all the time?

[ Mister 'I'll-fight-my-own-ass'. ]

Maybe it was my good looks? Or they're just not as heartless as you, don't want to see a helpless teenager get himself shredded.

[ He laughs. ]

Don't make it sound like I just go around kicking people all day. I only kick idiots!

[ And don't even get him started on you talking about your own looks. He's just not going to comment on that as he listens to Miyuki laugh for a while... ]

...Maybe you should get killed by one of those monsters at least once.
