Who: Shiho Sannomiya
good_ideas & Peko Pekoyama
perfectstrike
When: 02/03
Where: Casino
What: Peko asked Shiho to examine a couple weird bits of evidence from the tour for her! Time to find out what they've learned.
Rating/Warning: None as of yet!
[Mid-afternoons at the casino tend to be slower than evenings or mornings. It's the time between the people who are there right from the start of the day to the ones who come as soon as they can leave work to lose the money they just earned. Peko, in spite of some of her shadier ties, isn't much one for gambling, but as a dealer for the casino, it does make it a bit easier to meet with people and have it not looked at too closely.
...Though, with Hinata's revelation regarding monitoring devices in their eyes, Peko supposes it doesn't matter as much these days. But old habits die hard.
Peko's not hard to find upon entering the casino; the bright silver braids and sword bag tend to be distinctive, no matter what she's wearing. On this occasion, it happens to be a typical vest-and-pants combination one might expect from a casino, a deck of cards in front of her. Since it's getting closer to the time she'd told Shiho to meet her, she's doing her best to glare away any potential customers from her table to make sure they'll still have space to talk. It's not that hard with a glare like hers.]

As she nearly always did when going to a job, Shiho was dressed in her The Children's uniform since it was the only thing she owned that was both a reminder of home as well as bulletproof, fireproof, shockproof and waterproof.
She sauntered into the casino with wide, innocent eyes, looking as if she were taking in the bright lights (and that she had somehow just gotten lost or something if anyone thought to ask) even as she catches sight of Peko and makes her way over.]

Peko meets her eye and nods once, retrieving one of her many decks of cards and starting to shuffle it. There's nothing overly fancy or flashy about the movement; it's enough for her that the cards be out of order.]
Detective, [Peko greets quietly, continuing to shuffle the deck even as she dips her head as she might as a sign of respect to any guest.] It's good to hear from you.

She slides into a seat at the table, giving Peko a friendly smile and a nod.]
Pekoyama-san. It's so nice to see you again.
[There wasn't a written report or anything because that was too much of a hassle. But Shiho had brought back the evidence in plastic bags all in a professional-looking envelope (unlabelled).]
why does dw keep going back to my default icon... pls...
Were you able to uncover anything?
[She was able to get some information from Hinata regarding the oil, but not the deed. Not that she has any intent of sharing that unless Shiho tries withholding information.
But with the cards sufficiently shuffled, Peko cuts the deck and lets it sit between them.]
Was there a particular game you would like to play?
maybe DW just really loves your default icon?
Shiho has nothing to withhold though, especially as she'd been able to see glimpses of what had happened on that tour from the things that had been brought back. She props her elbow on the table and her head on one hand, looking nonchalant and bored. Her free hand traces absently (purposefully) over the felt top of the table, keeping track of the people around them and making sure to stop when she knew someone was looking too intently at them.]
That black stuff? It's just plain motor oil, no DNA or anything.
[She smiles, because she couldn't sit her all day without doing anything, right?]
I've always wanted to try playing blackjack.
IT MUST...
[Truth be told, Peko's not surprised to hear that, just nodding once. Again, Hinata had taken it upon himself to use the school labs, but the secondary confirmation is still useful. Not only does it establish Shiho's credibility, but it also means that the CERES school lab isn't prone to giving out false information in spite of the user's intent.]
Blackjack is not a difficult game. Are you acquainted with the rules already?
[Peko waits with her hand on the deck for Shiho's answer.]
It probably also wants you to use it more often.
[But what was most interesting to her was all of the emotions and memories on it. Though she knows that Peko had been more interested in the Mosley Vomit.]
And I know the rules, so you can just deal the cards, if you want.

[It was a long shot for the deed, and really, Peko wasn't expecting anything at all to come of it. As she deals the cards, she tilts her head slightly, waiting for the other girl to elaborate.]

-that it might have been someone involved with the deed before it got destroyed. You guys didn't step on this though, did you? Because there are traces of that, too. As if someone was really, really angry with the deed.
[Shiho already knows her answer, but she still puts on a look of interest as she tilts her head before reaching for the cards.]

[Even though what with England and Jaune, they had made quite a mess of just finding it, alone. Fortunately, Peko had been able to keep it in the end and prevent it from undergoing even more harm.]
--Though that's interesting. As far as I was aware, that deed should have been a digital copy. How can something digital carry that kind of information?
no subject
[A fire-breathing someone.]
Maybe it has to do with the fact that we're also code?
no subject
[Interesting... she shakes her head.]
If the information we uncovered in the virtual diaries is correct, it could be that the deed is in the state it is in due to the "fire elementals" taking offense to Vincere's propositions.
no subject
And "fire elementals" would match pretty well with the evidence from the deed itself.
[Shiho looks down at the cards dealt in front of her, drumming her fingers against the felt top of the table. (And reading what the next few cards would be, even if that was shamelessly cheating. She knew she would have to take at least 2 more cards in order to win.)]
Hit.
