[Oh, that wasn't the blood he was talking about but that other cut is important to note too, he supposes.]
Well I'm glad you're...?
[Okay, is what he wants to say. But Hawke launches into her story of how the blood and cuts happened in the first place before he can finish.
The more she describes, more and more questions are raised on Larry's end. However, he can't seem to find the correct phrasing for those questions. She was at an insult restaurant? She was insulting a dude's love life and the girlfriend was suddenly into her? And she beat the crap out of the guy and his friends and sent them to the hospital?
Aside from the look of genuine shock, confusion, and slight horror on his face, he doesn't seem to act on anything Hawke said. This is officially the weirdest date he's ever been on, period. At the same time though, he feels like he's getting to know Hawke way more quickly than should be expected on a first date let alone the first couple minutes, and the main thing he's learned is that well...this woman is not to be messed with.
He finds it astounding how Hawke could be talking about sending people to the hospital and then smile so...wonderfully, not moments later. It helps him force a smile himself, trying to get over his shock. He nods, holding out the flowers and candy bag.]
They sure are. These too- they're candy hearts with color meanings! I hope you like 'em.
[He has to mentally psyche himself up as the conversation goes. He can't let himself be intimidated, no matter how crazy this date is. He's supposed to be a pro at this!]
