Of course! It's not only that... when I learn everything I need to, I'll be able to do more, and then I might be able to sometime teach someone else...

[His tail swishes lightly.] See? And you'll make sure I don't accidentally burn down our home.

Do you know how to put out a fire?

With water? Sometimes sand, or blankets...

[Elza did you know that electrical fires are different...]

... We should see if there are fire extinguishers here.

[ and she'll gently nudge him onwards. ]

Fire extinguishers?

[Oh uh okay he'll let himself be nudged along.]

They're big red things that you can spray to put out fires!

[ she has never actually used one. ]

Big red things...?

[He doesn't even know how to start to visualise that...]

They're like giant cans-- [ wait do they have cans?? ] Um, I'll see if I can find one!

This really is quite the adventure you're taking me on. [Learning about ALL KINDS of new things.]

But you're not learning it alone. [ and finally, she comes to an excited halt by a fire extinguisher hanging on the wall. ] Ah-- this thing!

[lionly]

Thank goodness for that. [But he blinks at the fire extinguisher... And reaches out to tap it with the point of a nail.] This can put out fires?

[immobileyes]

Yes! I think you just have to squeeze that handle.

[lionly]

[It feels metal... but the handle isn't...]

I suppose I shouldn't squeeze it right now? [Thankfully Elza is an intelligent, rational... lion so he doesn't just go grabbing things willy-nilly.]

[immobileyes]

You definitely shouldn't!

[lionly]

Got it, I won't. I'll save it for a fire.

[He laughs quietly.] Hopefully we won't have one of those too soon.

[immobileyes]

Everyone's gotten a lot better with the appliances, so I think we won't have to worry.

[lionly]

That's thanks to you and Zara, I think. Me and Nesso... Nesso especially, of course-- [But there's a fond note in his voice and he's obviously saying it to tease him, though Nesso's well out of earshot.

... Maybe royals have a harder time with it. Or knights?

That could be it. I don't spend much time at home, so...

[He laughs, scrubbing a hand over his hair.] There was never a need for me to learn these things. Now, if we were out having to camp somewhere, no problem, but...

You can just think of it like camping inside! You're really smart, Elza, so I'm sure you'll get it soon!

[Y-you can't win him over with compliments...! Except no he'd never think that he's just busy blushing rn and looking pretty pleased in an embarrassed way.]
