[ There's a sinking feeling in his stomach when he thinks that Namur has died, but it quickly disappears when he's distracted by the dragon actually flying. That, he's less used to. A giant snake monster can't fly, but this dragon can. He holds on to Hiccup, and doesn't mind at all when the creature's dive calms and they find out Namur is totally fine.

When they get to the door Grell has made for them, he gets off the dragon, holding on to the edge of the hole rather than Hiccup. Riding on a dragon is fine and all, but he's pretty sure he prefers staying on the ground. But still, the ground might disappear again, so just in case he holds on to the metal edges of the hole. ]
