It's okay. You don't really need to wear your armor at home, Tanuki-san. [ he watches in concern as dotanuki straightens and rubs the mark himself. ahh.. he feels so awful about it.. ] I'll get you something sweet. Jack-kun will forgive me if I give you one of his ice-creams. [ look, something sweet always helps an injury, right?

he starts to respond to the idea of practicing at home--no way, there's not enough room to do it normally, right?--but the mention of his hair has his ears going red. he touches a few strands self-consciously. ]

Does it look weird? Kashuu-kun really wanted it..

[He shrugs.] Just what I normally wear anyway. [ALTHOUGH ice cream sounds good, hmmmm. He nods at the suggestion and lowers his hand. He's been wanting to try that stuff, but didn't want to take it in case one of the other swords saw him.]

You didn't actually have to let him do that, you know. I didn't think he'd actually ask you.

Well.. he really wanted to, and it's just hair..

[ he goes to the freezer, opening it up and getting one of the ice-cream bars out, peeling the wrapper off. he offers it to the spirit, then, stepping up on his step-stool and then hopping up to sit on the counter-top. he tugs the spirit toward him again, then, peering at the mark once more. ]

I think I should put something on that, anyway. Are you sure it doesn't hurt..?

Sorry. [He does feel a little bad that this was technically all his fault. Haru seems a little put out by it all and that makes Doutanuki feel bad. He hadn't realized that was what Kashuu had been doing when he'd suddenly started texting, but he really should have. He follows Haru into the kitchen, chewing on his bottom lip.] For what it's worth, it doesn't look bad.

[He takes the ice cream when offered and lets Haru pull him closer, but turns his head to the side so the saniwa can't fuss over the mark. Even if it hurts, the pain is fading already and it isn't like a bruise will do anything to him. If he'd bruised Mikazuki's face or (god forbid) Kashuu's face, then it'd be a big deal, but his? There's already so many scars, it hardly looks out of place.]

S'fine. No one's going to notice it anyway.

[He sticks the ice cream into his mouth and abruptly stops everything to look at it. THAT is not the taste he expected??? It's really good??? Holy crap, modern world, why have you hidden this from him??]

It's not your fault. [ there's no need for him to apologize. and anyway, the general consensus so far seems to be that it looks okay, so no harm, no foul.

he makes a disgruntled little noise when the spirit turns away, especially at the comment. ] I notice. I don't like for you to get hurt any more than I like for any of the others to get hurt. [ please accept haru's earnest feelings, donut......... he loves you very much, okay.

still, he's distracted from his displeasure by the other man's reaction to the ice cream, mouth quirking up faintly. ] It's good, right?

[Iiiiit actually is, but Haru either doesn't know or is just trying to make him feel better. He isn't sure if he should say anything or not. Nor does he know how to react when someone actually values him, so he simply keeps his head turned away and tries to bite at the ice cream.

BAD IDEA. THAT IS COLD.

Dotanuki grimaces, closing one eye, but manages not to make a sound.]

Cold.

[ haru doesn't smile, because of course he never smiles, but that quirk of his mouth grows a little. ]

Yeah, you have to be careful. You'll get brain-freeze. [ he reaches up, gently pushing dotanuki's fringe away from his brow. ] Small bites. Licks are better, really.

[HNNNNGH his mouth hurts, wtf is this???? BETRAYAL!!!

He didn't ever think "brain freeze" was something he'd need to worry about. When the initial kick starts easing off, Dotanuki relaxes and looks at the ice cream bar while Haru pushes his hair out of his face.]

It'll take too long. Cold stuff melts, doesn't it? Like snow?

Not that fast. I mean, unless it's really hot out.

[ he can't believe he's teaching one of his swords how to eat ice-cream. just when he thinks he's taught them everything they need to know.. ]

You can take small bites, too, or stick part of the top in your mouth and suck the melty part off.

[He stares at the bar in his hand, then sticks it back in his mouth to try Haru's advice. Okay, so he still wants to bite it because it's cold and it's food and food is meant to be bitten??? But sucking on it works, too.

He's quiet for a few moments as he tries this new method, then he looks at Haru and because he has the best manners of any sword, he talks with his mouth full.]

S'takin' a long time.

[It tastes good, Haruji!!! he wants to stuff it in his face like the other food he likes.]
