And...you are far too kind Okita-senpai! Haha, though I am said to be the most beautiful, I will admit when it comes to working at a teahouse... [ Vague hand motions here since jiji isn't sure what he's supposed to be doing half the time but he somehow manages to be pretty popular in the teahouse despite that. ] well I'm not certain how they want me to "entertain".
[ He hopes that Okita will fill him in on this! For the most part, Mikazuki explains to Okita (as he stands still and prepares himself to be dressed) that he usually ends up just chatting with the customers about this or that and that's all that they seem to need from him. Which is just fine with him and he makes pretty good tips too! But he does feel as if there is something more he should be doing? Unless entertaining is really just happily talking? He supposes that Okita must know better than he does though and as his kouhai, he will listen intently to any advice he has. ]

Without a word, he sinks into a deep bow and holds it for a moment or two - it is all he can think to do to show his deep respect now that he's already acted so familiar and casual. He certainly doesn't want to make Mikazuki uncomfortable and self-aware in any way by suddenly becoming overly formal and awkward.
Then, he simply focuses on starting to dress the spirit, trying to think of how to best answer the question. He had asked as much himself when he first arrived, so he has some idea how to answer in a way that makes it easy to grasp.]
Well, people often go to tea houses because they feel lonely, or like people don't pay them much attention, I think. So they go there because that means they are sure to have pretty, pleasant company who won't ignore them or make them feel uninteresting. Or maybe they just want to spend time with someone nice without obligations. [That is what he'd taken away from his conversations with people about his job, anyway. It has certainly worked for him, thinking about it as providing pressure-free companionship and validation.]
It's no wonder that you've been doing well. You're very charming, and all people really want is to be treated like they're interesting and important, see? It helps if you seem a bit like you're flirting with them too - somehow I don't think you'll have problems doing that either.

He's careful to stay still amidst their talking, only answering when Souji moves from one section to the other or just finishes up tying sashes together. ] You would guess right, aha. The tea house sometimes feels like a host club on some days...though I don't do anything quite like that. [ Frankly speaking, Mikazuki enjoys the company as much as the customers probably do which is why he may be so highly requested. He seems to have a genuinely fun time when he entertains and his charms and habitually flirtatious attitude probably help a lot. Not to mention his beautiful face but of course he is well aware of all this. ]
Ah but, you are my work Senpai! When you get back to working at the tea house I would be very pleased to learn from you. [ It's obvious that Mikazuki is still over the moon that he technically has a superior. He's had masters sure, but there's just something so endearing about having a work friend and it's Souji Okita of all people! He thinks that he'll enjoy working at the tea house much more now. ]

Slim fingers move quickly, performing his task neatly, tightening sashes and gently righting the fall of fabric. It's strange, because he's never really cared that much about outward appearances, aware that he is beautiful like he's aware of the sky above him, taking no personal pride in the matter. But nonetheless he finds tasks like this very enjoyable; it's fun to help people at the tea house with their clothes, to learn how to paint Kashuu's nails, to comb Hijikata's hair at home. There is an element of care and attention in it which he thrives on.]
Honestly, I don't really understand the difference between the two myself. [He laughs, shaking his head.] But then again... I don't quite understand this sort of thing in general. I mean, I used to go along to Shimabara with the other men at times, but- [He shrugs, going slightly pink.] -well, I've never seen the point, that's all.
[He'd found it pleasant to sit around and drink tea with the working women and men, to join in some of the games, but it was hardly something he'd go out of his way to do. And the more physical aspects that the establishments offered didn't interest him at all - what was the point, with people you didn't know at all?
He does light up a bit at the thought of working together with someone from home. As someone who is used to living very closely to all those he works with, that is something he has missed rather sorely.] I shall look forward to it, and try to get more healthy as soon as possible. I think this is something I'm a lot better at teaching than I am when it comes to fighting - where you, of course, are my respected senior by far. [He laughs lightly, taking a step back to admire his handiwork so far.]

[ Leave it to an old man to enjoy the little things life has to offer. In general he just enjoys having Souji around actually, even if they had just barely met. Mikazuki finds himself utterly charmed by the other and likewise thankful for his help in dressing him. He seems to be pretty good at it judging by how Mikazuki is looking himself over with a content smile. There's nothing quite like being dressed from head to toe in beautiful garments, he thinks. ]
Ah but, as much as I would like to work with you as soon as possible... [ He delicately sets a hand on Souji's cheek once again, smiling pleasantly and beautifully like he usually does. ] your health is more important. Humans can be so fragile sometimes, [ Though Mikazuki quickly adds thatfrom what he's heard of Souji Okita, he can more than take care of himself but even so. The tachi laughs quietly and removes his hand from the other, pressing it against his own chest instead. ] haha..it makes a sword like me want to protect them.
[ He'll quickly move the topic along after as he doesn't want to keep things somber. ] After we're done here, perhaps if you feel well enough...would you care to take a little walk with me?
