[Not too long ago, a monstrous tsunami toppled the colony of Cerealia and left the city in ruins. Today…. the city is still in ruins. Watch your step! Hopefully you weren’t headed anywhere important today because--]

You there! Where do you think you’re going?!

[-- you’re about to be dragged into something much bigger than getting a sandwich or your CyBuddy’s hair appointment.

You’ve been spotted by Natalia and you are about to get an earful.]

Once Natalia gives the spiel to whatever poor bystander was walking about, they’re given a hardhat along with their instructions. Then they’re set off to work and they have quite the range of places that they can see to attend to.

I » THE RUBBLE The Residential District took the hardest toll after the tsunami. Where a block of apartments once stood, there’s now only rubble and ruin – as well as fallen pieces of the platform that had just added salt to the wound. Those in this area will be given face masks as well, to accommodate for the dust, and are tasked with moving the rubble over to a sectioned off area that will be considered a new scrapyard. Take a look at the fallen tech if you’d like, just be careful not to exhaust yourselves too much!

II » THE SCHOOL Plenty of the water has receded from the school area, but it would appear that the remains of flooding are still in effect. Try not to turn the halls into a slip and slide just yet! Even though the whiteboards beg to be written on, you’re obviously here to do work…. right? Well, there’s probably something about visiting a school that can make people itch to feel young again anyway.

III » THE APARTMENTS What apartments remained have a high chance of dealing with water damage, especially those on the bottom flowers. They’re just begging to be revamped. Maybe you even find an empty one that you like and decide to claim it for yourself! Aside from that, Natalia’s left paints upon paints for a mural on the outside of the building if you feel like doing some benevolent vandalism. Please don’t draw any genitalia.

IV » THE SKYBRIDGES High above the city, others are still put to work. The standing building in the residential district (and those that are eventually rebuilt) need a more convenient way of movement, Natalia’s decided. So here’s where people are building sky bridges to connect the apartments – but for the love of god, watch your step up there or else we’ll be dealing with cleaning you up off the cement too.

V » THE GYM The once magnificent place for GAINS and and PROTEIN and BROSEPHS honing one’s strength and maintaining the temple of one’s body unfortunately caved in during the disaster. Entirely. The place is another pile of rubble and rock, but if nothing else, exercise equipment has been ordered and people who hopefully know their way around a gym have been placed in charge of restoring the gym to its former glory. It’s like its own workout just to fix it!

VI » THE SANCTUARY Hidden away in the Residential District, there’s a new, nondescript building. Upon even stepping into the premises, you’re asked to leave your CereVice at the door. However once you’re determined unbugged by CERES, there’s much hustle and bustle in here. Wire work is being done to maintain generators, tests are being run, and then there are some people making sure that the curtains match the color scheme of the couches. At least there’s apparently a buffet provided inside for all volunteers! Chill during your break time. You’ve earned it.

[ Well. Natalia sure was... convincing, which is to say that Adolf is surprised, again, by her resourcefulness and the enthusiasm with which she's thrust his duties at him. It's not exactly a bad feeling to be entrusted with something that he considers, ultimately, a good cause, but it's taking some time getting used to the idea of using his powers in a way that he isn't exactly accustomed to—

—which is, incidentally, to be a human battery.

In the grand scheme of things, he supposes, this isn't too bad.

So feel free to have your character notice that there's a very tall blond man huddled by the generator with his hands essentially stuck in its sockets (that can't be safe), or maybe kneeling next to it and inhaling what looks like... white powder. Not sketchy at all?! If you look closely, whoever is watching might notice that his eyes change color from green to chemical-blue, or that said eyes are softly glowing; again, not weird at all, right.

And if he notices someone watching, he'll tilt his head, maybe ask: ]

[ The generator, he means. But maybe he doesn't notice you, and continues to look like a grown-ass adult with a death wish. ]


c. 【　APARTMENTS.　】

[ After a long day of sitting in front of a machine and watching it run (how exhausting), the eel is walking back to his joke of an abode when he passes by the apartment that's currently in the progress of being repaired. It seems busy, with the bustle of people reaching for paints and hurrying back and forth with armfuls of powertools and furnishings; now he feels badly for essentially having been inside all day instead of helping with some of this grunt work.

But while he's musing— he notices that someone is either holding a little too much (are you comically holding a Jenga of things in your arms? you bet he'll notice), or straying a little too close to one of the open paint buckets on the ground. A recipe for disaster.

So this is where he'll be striding over to steady whoever is in danger of death by tools or paint, with one hand on a forearm or a shoulder. If you're truly clumsy, you might bring the both of you down; who knows!! ]

► The Rubble_
[Sayo was in a surprisingly agreeable mood when Natalia came up to him and recruited him into the reconstruction effort. His task was simple, clear out the rubble and let people know where to go.

So people would see Sayo lifting up and moving the rubble away. If anyone's struggling, he would offer to help lift it.]

Can I help you carry it?

[Don't worry, he's stronger than he looks.

OR

For people who just arrived and came to help (either willingly or via Natalia's decree), Sayo would notice them and walked over.]

[Sure, Sayo might be stronger and have more stamina than a normal human his size, but he still have his limits. Once he get too tired to work properly, he's at the sanctuary and slowly making his way towards the buffet. Slowly, because he's curious about the interior and is memorising the details.

Be careful of the possibly shortest volunteer and don't bump into him by accident. Or maybe do that.]

[ Yang may have an assigned place and, for the most part, you'll find her there, but she's also keeping herself busy around the colony today. And because Natalia's such a thoughtful person and left so much paint right there, she's gleefully taking advantage of it and going to town on one of the outside walls.

Which really just consists of flicking paint in various fun motions until it begins to vaguely resemble a sunset. On fire. If you tilt your head a bit. And there's a corgi because why wouldn't there be a corgi, but worry not, the corgi isn't on fire. It's just a corgi.

[ V. gym ]

[ Here's where she's supposed to be, and here is where you're most likely to find her. Maybe a teenager with long blonde hair looks a little out of place here, but stick around, and you'll see her carrying rubble on one shoulder without so much as faltering. She might be recruiting her fellow volunteers in a game of 'Who Can Clear Out This One Corner The Fastest' or she might be asking where this exercise bike or weight-lifting machine is supposed to go.

Either way, she's tackling this cheerfully. ]

[ PEACE AT LAST. If she's not hijacking the buffet table, she's bringing some food over to anyone who looks particularly exhausted...

Or she's face-down on the closest couch. If you come close enough, you can hear her mumbling: ]

VI: THE SANCTUARY

[If you really wish the sofa and curtains to match, you'd better knit everything yourself like a proper nineteenth century servant. Or so Kevin would have told you, if he were not taking a short break from the hard knitting and patching work and enjoying a more pleasant activity. Namely, working on flower beds in front of the nondescript building. After all, who has ever heard of a sanctuary without flowers?

And so, if you happen to come to the sanctuary, you may notice a very pleased angel butler with his hands deep into the soil. Honestly, who cares if he is so discreetly cheating with his powers to make the seeds grow a little faster? They are just broccoli florets. And everybody loves broccoli, right?]

Now, little ones... [He chirps warmly, joining his dirty hands in prayer.] Grow healthy and abundant so we may one day chopp you all in little pieces in the name of delicious soufflé, oh praise your hallowed fibers! May our Lord be with you! Amen. ❤

[Look, just because his ahoge is under a hardhat... doesn't mean it's not Hinata. Okay? Okay. It just means you can't locate him by that distinctive silly antenna of his. However, he's the type of person to take up this work with gusto, because he'd planned to be doing some anyway. It's why he has work gloves, sleeves rolled up, etcetera.]


II. THE SCHOOL

[Ahh... look at his workplace. It oddly stings to see it like this, hence why he's going about work here with even more determination than you might've seen him going at before.

If you're here as well and heading off to do some more work, how lucky that you're with a guy who knows the area well:]

[Or, if he CATCHES YOU WRITING ON THE WHITEBOARDS!!!!:] Oi... what're you doing? You know we have to clean that off later, right? [You know that feeling, the one like being caught by a teacher doing something you're not supposed to? Yeah. That's what feeling you might get.

IV. THE SKYBRIDGES

Hinata never put himself as someone who was afraid of heights, but he might just change his tune. That being said, he seems to have fashioned himself a harness of sorts out of rope as he works. But if he sees you without anything and just working without a care:]

VI. THE SANCTUARY

[There's a figure sitting slumped on one of the couches, his head hanging to one side, uncomfortably resting on his own shoulder... yeah, it's Hinata.

... He seems to be out for the count. Please don't draw on his face. Or do, I guess. He's still under a zen earth effect so it was startlingly easy to just doze off here.

Especially when this guy tries not to make a habit of sleeping in open areas. Whoops.]

[This one here has never actually been to school, so this is all new to her. Though she looks like someone who probably could pass as a high school student, but alas, this is far out of her expertise.

At least she's good at heavy lifting, cleaning, and she has homemade treats set aside!!]

This hall? [She looks down said hall.] I see, and then where does one go after? [Why are schools built just so you can get lost?!]

[Hinata trails off. He rubs at his temple with a thumb.]

[Oh, here's a familiar tiny sword. He didn't see him, distracted to a degree that's unusual. So Naoki's a little worn out (elementally), but he'd come out today all determined anyway to do stuff.]

[This Naoki punctuates by placing his hands on the back of her shoulders and leeeaning some of his weight on her. Of course he came out to do some helping today. Not even tiredness can stop him, in the long run.

[WORDS. ALL WORDS. She probably would be able to figure it once she sees it, but it would take a little longer since she'd have to match his directions to environment.

[ Such a coherent response, Yang, but sure enough, there it is. She manages to turn her head enough to the side to speak, curling her fingers into the cushion. ]

[Naoki chuckles and pushes his thumbs against her shoulders.]

Then, I'll be your surprise masseuse today. Where's bothering you the most? [He will knead it out!!]

[ She is a mass of tightness today, how fun. It's why she's speaking in disjointed sentences.

Or maybe just because she knows Naoki's touch and it also happens to be her favorite. ]

[He rubs at her shoulders with warm palms in-between the kneading before heading to her lower back. His eyebrows hike up slightly as he touches, testing with rubs of his thumbs.]

Whoa... you really are super tensed up.

I was doing a ton of hauling today. Nothing's too bad, but--

[ Except she's groaning into the couch again. No, it doesn't hurt. Her muscles appreciate this. ]

[Naoki hums and pushes his thumbs up along her lower back, to either side of her spine. This only gives him a liiiittle pause to be doing in public, it's fine, besides her feeling better is more important.]

But you're definitely feeling it. Hopefully I can keep it from sticking around for tomorrow.

[ Yang sighs out now, carefully, letting the tension leave in her exhalation. As always, he knows just where to press. ]

But you're not too worn out, Naoki?

[ Because of course she's going to ask. ]

[He still feels the drag of tiredness, but being able to do stuff like this makes him feel good, so his spirits are better.]

[ Look, she wasn't planning on helping out (read as: she's bad with construction work, why did anybody dare rope her into this!!!) which is why she's sneaking around the school like a naughty little brat because let's be honest here. She missed going to school after everything got waterlogged so she might have ended up doodling a bit.

But she definitely jolts in surprise when she hears the familiar voice though. Busted... ]

[ There's a bit of amusement in her tone, a small quirk of her lips, but look, with all of these hardhats around (Inaba not being one of them-- yet, at least) she couldn't help but want to leave a message to mess around, possibly spook someone later. Looks like that plan failed, though. ]

[who's that holding blueprints and barking out orders about what to do and where to go? why it's flynn! broken arm still in a cast (SO close to getting it off. SO close.), he's got a clipboard in the other hand. natalia had given him the task of overseeing the apartments and that's what he'll do. everything's going to be perfect down to the very last detail!

only after everyone has already been told what to do does he realize a missed detail: the mural. shoot. some people might be working on it already, but still too few for it to get finished in a timely fashion. maybe you're one of the people working the apartments or maybe you're a passerbyer minding your own business. either way, you're getting flagged down by flynn.]

Excuse me! Could I ask for your assistance for a moment?

[even a workaholic like flynn has to admit that breaks are nice sometimes. granted, this break likely comes only after working his butt off far longer than necessary, but better late than never. as soon as he's inside, he'll be making a beeline for the buffet before helping himself to the tasty food.

and then begins mixing the tasty food in sacrilegious ways. sriracha sauce on the pancakes? you bet! actually, make that sriracha with chocolate sprinkles. tasty! it should give the pancakes a perfect spicy, yet sweet kick!!]
