It is a quiet day in mostly reconstructed Cerealia. The robots are busily running into walls that were not there before, the Cybuddy bees are buzzing...and CERES has still not said a word. Attempting to contact them still gets the User Offline error. Strange...

But who cares if CERES is offline? After all, they are the cruel and tyrannical captors. A Cerealia without them must be better than a Cerealia with them. So there's nothing to worry about on this fine, peaceful day. Or, at least, that's what it seems like, when suddenly there's a voice in everyone's head. A chosen few may recognize the voice, for they will have heard it before, but to the vast majority, it is brand new.

Looks like someone has been saved, and a reward granted... and no, you don't have a single choice in the matter.

Your heroism will be remembered, lost and stolen souls.

You have saved me, and so now, I shall save you.

All of you.

//SCENARIOS.EXE

PHASE I

[ day one ] It happens so quickly. One moment you’re in the colony, going about your daily life, and the next, you’re… floating. A moment later, every player character from the colony is transported with a wisp of fresh air to...somewhere very very different. The distance is far, but it is covered in what must have only been a scant moment, and it’s clear somehow, especially to air characters, that it was Caeli’s doing that brought everyone there.

There, naturally, being right in the middle of the jungle.

Everyone is then unceremoniously dropped. You may land on a tree, or in a patch of poison mushrooms (no really, look out for the colorful plant life, it’s probably poisonous) or in the river. There are some strange insects of all sorts and types, some of which have some uncomfortable side effects if you’re bitten, such as swelling or the uncomfortable urge to go hug the nearest person, and there are strange flowers everywhere, some of which glow only in the dark of night or the shade of trees. It is dreadfully humid, however, and a little hard to breathe--unless you’re of the air disposition.

Either way, you’ve certainly landed somewhere fantastical, so take some time to get used to your surroundings. It shouldn’t take too long to find everyone else, hopefully.

PHASE II

[ day two ] Of course, this far into the jungle, and making this much noise, it was only inevitable before some company was attracted.

Some are clearly dangerous, some are peaceful as can be and some are somewhere in between; approach at your own risk.

Either way, these monsters are all drawn to larger groups of people and a lot of noise, so it may be best to keep quiet...though the ones that keep their distance may be even more concerning.

Everyone is certainly being stalked at one point or another in the jungle -- and at night, there are eyes watching from the darker parts of the trees.

PHASE III

[ day three ] But perhaps if you follow some of those monsters deeper into the woods, you will stumble across an old, run down village of sorts. It looks as though time and the jungle has overtaken it. Exploring it will reveal plenty of homes that were clearly lived in however, by families and by people of all sorts.

There are empty rooms, covered in dust, and a central village fire, long gone out.

Small knick-knacks and various objects can be found… if you want to steal from the dead, you know. It’s a little rude. It appears they led a simple, peaceful life, however; most notably, there is no technology to be found.

And if The Bridge catches you doing it, she will look incredibly sad and ask you to put everything back in its proper place before she goes back to looking very irritated at Caeli. You may overhear words about how this “isn’t the right place” and Caeli’s unrepentant, “It is only a few hundred miles”. Looks like something went a little wrong in the transportation process.

Time to camp out for the night, perhaps. And your CereVices don’t get any reception out here, so no surfing the internet for you. If you try to connect to the internet, for some reason the device starts playing a song. Was that programmed…?

PHASE IV

[ day four ] By the fourth day, it’s pretty clear that you’re going to be stuck here for a bit. Pestering Caeli or Maris gets nothing, while the Bridge still can’t be approached for pretty good reasons. So… you’ll just have to make the best of it while they figure out their next approach.

Time to figure out how to camp with few supplies and even fewer nice places to sleep. Maybe try to make a fire (though it’s incredibly difficult, considering how muggy it is here) or try to find some bugs to eat (ew gross).

Of course, you can try hunting, but the prey doesn’t look too friendly, so be careful not to become the prey yourself. The same goes for fishing, it seems.

Some of the trees are poisonous, some of the grasses will cause unfortunate rashes, and some vines will lash out to grab at people (especially colorful ones); basically, this is an entirely untamed alien jungle, so it may not be the fun camping trip you'd like.

Time to work together to survive out here, at least for a little longer.

It’s your time to shine. This is Person Versus Wild.

PHASE V

[ day six ] On day six, the jungle goes utterly silent.

The monsters and animals disappear. The extra friends poof away hastily and suddenly. Maris and the Bridge fall silent (though Caeli admittedly continues floating there as ever). If anyone approaches them to ask, they'll just say that "she is coming".

And soon, she does appear. She moves slowly, lacking in feet; they are roots, as though that of a tree. Nonetheless, she has no troubles with moving forward, slow bit by bit. She does not speak, not at first, and behind her, trotting lightly through the woods, there is another. Both feel strongly of spiritual energy, just like Maris and Caeli. And eventually, after observing the people gathered, they can be spoken to.

BONUS

[ day ??? ] After spending some time in the jungle, emotions might be running a bit amuck. And those emotions might bring some unexpected...friends. Yes, let's go with friends.

Because if a character is typically grumpy, gloomy, stoic, lineface, or anything along those lines, they may find themselves followed by a bright, happy bird. That bird feeds off of those emotions, and will just cheerfully follow around any lineface character for as long as possible. Or until they smile. The birds are otherwise harmless, chirping happily every now and then and following them around like a friendly shadow.

Happy, cheerful, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, energetic characters, on the other hand, will soon find themselves followed by... a different friend. Or maybe a handful of them. It depends on how cheerful they are. Either way, these creatures feed off of happiness and fun, but they will also chew on hair or an ear if they're allowed to get that close, making horrifying, chittering noises as they follow anyone who is in a good mood.

[ Sitting up, the little fox sword moves his head, then wiggles his fingers. From there, a shake of his upper body as he loosens up. His hair (and hairears) flopping about. ]

I don't think so. [ His sword is fine, after all, so he is also fine. Kogi takes a moment to size up the situation, taking in the environment, and comes to the conclusion that: ]

... so we're outside now, huh? Was it because of that spirit?

[ Kogi could sense it. ]

Aren't you pretty?

[ Yosuke has, blessedly, found the fire, after getting himself separated from Yu for the moment. It's the aroma that tips him off, of course, but when he sees the smoke and, eventually, the blaze, he quickly makes his way over. A fire means someone's around, right?

He grins a little when he sees Rei, relieved to no longer be so lost that he's completely away from anyone else that might be familiar. He rushes over, trying to scrub some of the dirt off of his face as he goes. (Which, you know, doesn't work - only sort of pushes it around a little. Damn jungle...!) ]

Hey! Oh man, am I glad to see you...!

[ Kogitsunemaru is certainly intimidating in his own right and Mikazuki is relieved to see that the beast is uninterested in a fight and thinks perhaps it's one of the more docile creatures? Whatever the case, he's sighing and thanking the Heavens that Kogi didn't have to get hurt on his behalf. Though the immediate danger is gone, there is still the issue of Mikazuki being stuck.

He's kicking his legs a bit and trying to wiggle himself free but as before, it only serves to make his sides hurt from digging so much into the tree. So he's going to try to stop moving -- yet he keeps kicking his legs and waving his arms. After a second, Mikazuki calls out for Kogi and makes grabby hands towards the little fox so far away from the crescent moon. ]
Kogiii...can you get me down?

I did not say that you had to leave and then reappear...

[But oh, whatever. There is very little point in even trying. He swipes the back of his non ruined hand over his brow, because damn, the sweating wont stop.]

So are you exploring too?

...for all we know, it could be poisonous.

[It hops suddenly at the word poison. Coincidence? Maybe.]

Besides, it would feel rather creepy to actually eat it. Like eating one of the stray cats from back home. It's annoying. Not a criminal.

[It's because of his heel lifts......

BUT OOPS he sure didn't mean to agitate these weirdass bug things further. He's just an accidental doom-bringer, isn't he?]

Smack 'em super hard! Like, into a tree or a rock or something. [This may kill them. That may be why they aren't bothering Kashuu as much.]
aslyfox: (29)

[personal profile] aslyfox 2015-10-03 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
[ Huh. Well, if the vines are faster than the dangling sword spirit, then that's no good for Kogi. He's not exactly the fastest, but he's definitely not the slowest. ]

I see. Well! I guess I'll do this for you and not for the Vine, you know?

[ Did he just...? No, no. It's okay. Kogi swings his blade at one of the vines but he's really surprised when they left up Namazuo, like they're using him as a shield?

Fortunate for both of them, he's able to stop himself. ]

What?! That's cheating?

[ Ugh, treacherous plant life?! ]

[At least he doesn't have stinky dog breath. A true blessing...]

Seriously? Aren't wolves supposed to do really well up in the mountains?

[Mostly because he mountains he's thinking of double as forests but still.]

[They're trying to surround Milla and spirit her off to the sparkly world of happy birds and fashionable swords...]

I really wouldn't! [Why is "I won't cook you" such a strong selling point though honestly, that's just sad. He makes a little huffy noise when the birds ignore Milla too, and just decides to flounce his way over so he can be by them since they apparently won't come to him!!]

Geez... They really don't listen to anything, huh? But you got these super cute ones! I got some really creepy things following me earlier, y'know? I want one of these instead!

[But he's speaking in past tense and there doesn't seem to be anything following him currently...]

Yes... me too.

[One moment, he'll try to get himself out from this bush. Which ends in in rolling out and lands on the ground, crouching down as he try to regain he breath. It's still a bit hard to breathe here. He doesn't even care if he's getting his legs and hands dirty like this.

Although there are some leaves in his hair from the bush. He looks up at her.

Phase II: Camping Alone

[It's late at night, and Zero is alone in his make-shift camp. There's no fire, no light. He doesn't need either. His vampire side regulates his body temperature and his eyes can see perfectly in the dark. He's spotted some of the things waiting out there, so when he hears a noise nearby along with an audible heart beat, Zero stands up.]

Who's there?

Phase III: The Village

[Zero stumbles across the old village and starts to explore hoping to find someone familiar. It isn't until hours later that he finally hears the sound of another human being and leaves one of the huts he's been exploring to go find them. Maybe they'll know where everyone else is.]

Phase IV: The Vines

[He's learned to be weary of some of the plant life when some of them leave rashes on his skin. His healing ability takes care of them within minutes but that doesn't make them any less annoying. While Zero navigates through the jungle abode he steers clear of a plant that had left him a particularly nasty rash and instead goes straight into the arms of a more vicious cousin. While moving around the plant, a vine snatches him from below, grabbing onto his foot before another slides across his throat in an attempt to choke the life out of him.]

Phase V: The Bloodlust

[When he's brought here, Zero does not have his blood tablets with him, so on the sixth day the bloodlust finally raises its head breaking through his self-control. It happens when he's nearing the edge of a campsite. The scent of fresh blood hits him like a truck, finally breaking his control of the beast. It's all he can do to pull away, heading deeper into the jungle away from the smell before he's forced to his knees near a large rock. He grabs at it, fingers digging deep as he tries to keep the bloodlust at bay but it's no use. It's been too long and he---

--CRACK!--

[The loud sound of the rock cracking under the pressure of his fingers is heard throughout the silent jungle and a large portion of it crashes to the ground. Without a point of support Zero falls to his knees a second time, his hands clutching at his throat.]

[well, roxas wasn't really planning on interrupting anyone's staring contest—more like he just wants to get through the area and back to where he's been camping out for the time being.

but he's stopped pretty dead in his tracks when he gets hushed.]

Um... [okay? roxas is not quite sure how to handle this situation, so he just stands there, waiting. and looking between the two of them in confusion. and possibly getting ready to summon his keyblades, because he's not sure how long that creature will be docile for when they're just... staring at each other.]

O-okay!

[He remains absolutely, completely still. Of course, he does so with his face fixated into a terrified expression, but what are ya gonna do. He tries not to look at Zoro's movements and instead closes his eyes. If this is where it all ends, I'd rather not see it coming.]

Hey... Can you give a guy a little more advance warning next time, Miss Airbender?

In a strange way? Yes.

[They do have tentacles, and weird face bits, but there's just something sinuous in their motions. She doesn't want to disturb them or anything but watching them? Goodness, it's fascinating.]

They're almost like an octopus and a giraffe mixed together with a lizard. It's really, really just unreal. I wonder why they grew like that?

[He's relieved to be reunited with the ground, quickly putting his hands on his knees and taking deep breaths.]

It was safe, yes... I think my being alive was my first hint there. But I don't know if I'd call that fun. [He shakes his head.] I've never been good with heights, and I don't think plunging makes it much better.

But... Thank you, Korra.

Some spirit-y stuff. [Though she waves a hand at him, like it's no big deal, it's obvious she's pleased that it even worked at all.]

My friend back home can sense other people's spirits, and I was trying to find you that way. It took a couple of days, but I finally did it. Sorta.

[Yep, that kills her laughter pretty quickly. She crouches beside him, feeling a little guilty now.]

Sorry. I wouldn't have done it if I'd known heights bothered you. [Kind of hard to remember that playing around like this isn't normal when you hang around the likes of Jack, Hiccup, and Hiro.]

I promise I'll warn you next time. [Shifting closer now.] Are you okay?

[Usopp had been on his own way back to camp, but by the time Rinne nears, he's currently standing stock-still in a small clearing, staring straight ahead at a clump of bushes. he swears he'd seen eyes reflecting the dim light, and a vague shadow that suggested something big and probably man-eating, so, naturally, he doesn't dare move]

[so focused on the impending danger of the mysterious animal in front of him, he leaves his back completely unguarded. when Rinne happens to bump into him, there's an immediate throwing up of arms, and a scream (a manly one, obviously)]

AAAAEEEEEEEIIIIII!!!

[turning prepared to meet his earthly demise, a look of infinite relief washes over Usopp's face when he sees it's just some red-headed kid, probably in much the same boat as he is. the relieved expression is short-lived, because the next second he's screaming again, albeit more in annoyance than fear this time]

Jeez! DON'T SNEAK UP ON PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!
