[Dotanuki waits until Rei is still, then stares for a moment when it looks like the kid just had a heart attack and died on the spot he's so frozen stiff. After waiting a second to make sure he didn't just kill a human out of fright, he squares off and slices through the main vine that seems to be holding Rei captive. A few whacks at the supporting plants and the entire tangle comes free with a snap.

Unfortunately, it may dump Rei unceremoniously on the ground. Sorry, bro.]
