It’s been a few days in the jungle now and hopefully you haven’t managed to die just yet – after all, the fun’s just begun.

On the seventh day of trekking the wilderness, each character who has Earth in their heart will suddenly find themselves pausing in the middle of the day. They begin to feel the pulse of the earth right beneath their feet. They feel the energy radiating from the ground and the trees above them begin to rustle even with the lack of wind at the moment.

Then without warning, the ground beneath their feet seems to suddenly open. At least they don’t have time to be scared as they suddenly lose consciousness after falling for a few seconds.

Don’t worry. It’ll get better. When they wake up, they hear the following message along with the rustling of nature –

Wake up.

There is something you must see.

And there, you may remain.

//SCENARIOS.EXE

PHASE I

[ day one ] Now, hopefully you’re not the type who takes their sweet time waking up. You’ve once again been dumped into a random part of the jungle but there’s really no opportunity for you to relax. You’ll quickly find that you’ve been lumped into two groups: the Unlucky and the Extremely Unlucky.

For the Unlucky, you’re going to feel your equilibrium just about ready to go as soon as you open your eyes. You’ve barely been caught on the edge of a cliff, resting on the slope and the slightest movement could send you careening over the edge. Get it together, grab the edge before you end up with the others—

The Extremely Unlucky have been dumped unceremoniously right into a pit of quicksand. The more they struggle, the more they sink, and they can feel the thrum of energy in their veins of what appears to be the very ground itself welcoming them into its embrace. What’s that? You’re not ready to go yet? Well better hope that the Unlucky get it together in time to save you.

PHASE II

[ day one ] Occidi still remains nowhere to be found, but those of the earth affiliation will find themselves imbued with a natural sense of direction and where to go. It’s as if the very ground beneath their feet has been marked with an unseen path and they automatically know to follow it in a certain direction. But where are they going? Who knows.

Those brave enough to follow will find themselves led to a hole in the wall – literally a giant carved out tunnel into the face of a cliff side. Just be careful, it’s rather dark inside. Anyone who wanders in will find themselves going up, down, apparently in spirals and it’s hard to say whether you’re below or above sea level anymore. Yet it’s hard to mind since the walls of the place are lined with beautiful, reflective crystals that gently emit their own light. It’s a natural wonder—

Up until you touch one of them anyway. Coming into contact with one of the crystals will lead to its intense amplification of the vibration. It shakes. It shakes and shakes and shakes violently and – what’s that sound? The sound of the tunnel collapsing behind you? Ah. Better run then.

Try to avoid any of the holes or unstable ground or cliffs. Who knew spelunking could be so dangerous?

PHASE III

[ day two ] Occidi is finally seen again out in the forest and it’s made clear that the invisible path that the travelers were drawn to was meant to lead to her. She nods once in acknowledgment of your progress and then turns and continues to walk. She will not answer questions if called out to. It will not take long for it to sink in that the entire forest is quiet, there is nothing stirring in this part.

At least, until characters look too long as the trees. Then, it all begins to slowly come alive. The leaves shake gently as the trees wake up out of their slumber, their roots stretching gently out of the ground as they rouse, and the groan of their trunks as they move slowly in response to Occidi’s presence.

They do not answer questions, but they speak freely. They whisper, “All will return to Occidi” and “The Bridge has come back to us”. They inquire, “But where are your families?” and “What are you?” Yet they continue to muse to themselves, mumbling at passersby without answering their responding questions.

Walk quickly. Those who dawdle for too long, looking to make conversation with the trees or otherwise, will begin to suffer from hallucinations of seeing their families within the forest, gravely injured. The hallucinations stumble and grab onto each character, begging them, “Don’t leave me.”

And you really don't want to stay in that forest when night falls, or you probably won't ever come back out -- but there will be one more moving, whispering tree amongst the forest.

There are hints that there are people living here, but it is impossible to find them amongst the moving, writhing branches and ushering trees; you may catch a glimpse of wide eyes from a greenish face beneath leafy hair if you look, but they'll disappear quickly soon afterwards, protected by the trees. It seems they've heard about a little happening in the jungle and they're not all too willing to chat now.

PHASE IV

[ day three ] Finally, finally Occidi will come to a stop deep in the forested areas. Here, there are buildings made out of tree branches, perfectly built so as to not harm the trees or their surroundings. It's clearly a central village area, though there are still no people to be found, and the village itself is a bit of a mess; with scraps of metal scattered around the clearing, and burn marks on the trees.

Occidi won't answer any questions as to that, merely saying “Mine once lived here. But look at what was done to the others…. Not even the help of others could salvage what happened here.” Her normally level and tempered voice carries a string of anger.

Without another word, she disappears, leaving all here in the area. There are heaps of sheet metal scattered amongst the debris. After enough digging, one will be found bearing the emblem of CERES.

On the other hand, poking around the village itself might yield something interesting; deeper into the jungle, in an old, building made next to a giant tree, there appears to be a shrine of some sort. There is nothing odd about that, of course. But the shrine is covered in what was once old blood, and there are crude knives stacked on the shelves around it.

But there's nobody here to answer any questions about that.

Welcome to your new home.

[He speaks uneasily.]

That... may have been the case.

B-but... who could have cast it?

[The only other ninja was Uchiha Sasuke... and his bloodline did have strong genjutsu types. But, he had no reason to cast a genjutsu on them.]

... I cast a dispelling jutsu when I first saw Sh--the apparition but it didn't go away. I thought it was real, but if you saw apparitions too then maybe the dispelling jutsu didn't work.... or maybe it wasn't a genjutsu like we know it.

You know, I've met robots before, but you're the first one who talked.

[He hasn't said much. But he's talking and that's something.]

[personal profile] bruiserprincess 2015-10-26 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
There's gotta be a clear place eventually.

[Somewhere that wasn't going to fall on them. Even if they can't make the surface.]
bruiserprincess: (Default)

[personal profile] bruiserprincess 2015-10-26 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Not bothered by people who are already dead.

[The evil bit... she wasn't really keen to get into that. But admitting her parents were dead was simple enough.]
bruiserprincess: (Default)

[personal profile] bruiserprincess 2015-10-26 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
You're welcome. I'd have to be a seriously messed up person to just leave you there.

[She could help. So she should help. It was that simple.]

Nothing.

[The word escapes with a little more force that he intends and he shoves his sword back into its sheath. He can hear the voices again, starting at the edges of the trees. Someone is calling for help, pleading for Dotanuki's assistance. But Ishikirimaru isn't moving and he isn't about to go darting off into the woods because he hears things. Even a spirit knows better than to do that.]

...We should go.

[He turns, forcing himself to move forward and to ignore the glimpses of others through the trees.]

[Stopping himself, Hinata shifts his gaze over to him with a concerned frown.]

Are you okay to?

[Tadashi's moving somewhat gingerly there.]
particularity: (f ✣ don't you think?)

[personal profile] particularity 2015-10-26 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, that was a thing.

Hinata's thinking something like that as he steps out, peering warily up the passage, where the boulder came from.]

...It's probably just the one, right?

[It'd be really dumb if that happened twice in a row, okay.]
bropane: (the way i do)

[personal profile] bropane 2015-10-26 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[ everybody comes first before his own well-being. ]

I'm fine, it's okay.

[ he's not, but his body language only vaguely suggests it. ]
prosecutory: (♘ and I discovered that)

[personal profile] prosecutory 2015-10-26 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
No. [His voice his firm, and his jaw set.] There is no evidence to prove that for certain. My theory is that the other spirits took the rest of the colonists away. Occidi "claimed" us.
prosecutory: (♙ we're here; it's so far away)

[personal profile] prosecutory 2015-10-26 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Something attacking? Here?

[Edgeworth lowers his sword but keeps it out, beginning to look around, his senses on heightened alert. But there's nothing else except the trees. Even Occidi was out of sight now.]

I don't see anything.
prosecutory: (♙ the mistakes)

[personal profile] prosecutory 2015-10-26 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Edgeworth's brow furrows, but his frown is one of concern, albeit not too much of it. He's just trying to keep a level head in this situation, refraining from rash judgments.]

When and where did you last see him?

[Edgeworth nearly trips as he keeps up the pace, but he recovers, focusing on getting away from this place, focusing on the fact that earthquakes are not eternal, this shaking will stop...

It works; after the rumbling and crashing of rocks behind them (he doesn't dare look), everything is quiet, and the only thing trembling now is Edgeworth's body. He breathes in and out, attempting to stay calm and to take advantage of this brief respite, and watches Sousei. ensuring that the other man isn't out of his sight.]

[ ugh... that question just reminds him even more of his death. ]

I don't know how long it's been, to be honest. [ he doesn't know how long it's been since he died... ] But he should've been in our camp.

[he obviously didn't realize that the whole chest-beating thing could have come across as something metaphorical. Cue him looking a little more confused, a little more embarrassed. He knows how to tease, but this was happening backwards!]

Aha! Well, I told you I'm a sword. I'm made to be wielded and used! [he loosens his death grip on the other end a little, still reluctant to let it go completely.]

See, that's my original form you're holding.
notsmall: pixiv id 3414718 (i'll be the watcher)

[personal profile] notsmall 2015-10-26 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm fine! [he smiles proudly, as if he didn't wake up falling off a cliff just a few hours ago.]

You two look very tired, though! You're not badly hurt or anything, right?
notsmall: pixiv id 3414718 (of the eternal flame)

[Iwatooshi's breathing steadies and his laughter subsides, allowing him to stand himself back up to properly converse with his rescuer. He brushes dust and gravel off of his robes, and then inspects the weapon for damage rather than his body.]

I did! ...did the same happen to you or something?
notsmall: pixiv id 3414718 (and say goodnight)

[personal profile] notsmall 2015-10-26 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Iwatooshi huffs, shrugging.]

You're right. They are just trees, after all. Remarkably rude trees.

This is getting more and more perverted sounding as we go!

[Always willing to take it the extra mile.]

But I'll have you know that I know how to use one of these!
popsometags: (it's not the luxury that matters.)

[personal profile] popsometags 2015-10-27 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't say they're just trees, but I don't see an upside to talking to them, unless they answer our questions.

[ Which it doesn't seem like they would-- plus, why talk to trees, really. ]
trashcubes: (cutest garbage man ever)

[personal profile] trashcubes 2015-10-27 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh?

[He perks up with interest at that. What were these other robots like?

...There's probably no chance that any of the robots she's met was one that he's been looking for recently, but--]

...Eevaa? [The question comes out all the same. Did any of the robots you've met before have a name like that?]

[ the last time he'd seen Doutanuki, he'd been mostly cloaked in darkness - the sword comment puzzles him for a moment until he remembers their previous encounter. So this was the man from before. He was certainly an intimidating fellow... or sword, evidently. It's odd to hear him describe the visual capabilities of what should probably be a hunk of steel, but he won't bother questioning it. ]

Ah, I see. Like a personal dagger... of sorts. [ except a human. ] They have human forms like you do, as well?
sewayaku: (EGH)

[personal profile] sewayaku 2015-10-27 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I've spoken with him before, yes. [ he made Zara pick out phone charms for him and then tried to sell him a tie. Good times were had by all, probably. ]

For your sakes, then, I hope that he's safe.
sewayaku: (ojoo somo...)

[personal profile] sewayaku 2015-10-27 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ what a coincidence, neither was his!! he even got parasites for it, nice. Zara offers him a rather sympathetic look, although it's far more knowing than it is reassuring. ]

She said something similar to me. I'm not sure what it means, however... She also spoke to me of our homeworlds, and our comrades.

[ the second part, he says with some hesitation; however, if he's going to tell someone, it may as well be the levelheaded and responsible Sousei. ]
