![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

Your first day will go normally enough, even if some things at work or school will behave a little oddly. Nothing too major, but enough to give you a sense of unease through the day.

Stop that!

[ Shut up, Yang! Just let him lie on your floor. ]
I'll stay here until it gets dark, but what do we do 'til then?
no subject
[ can you imagine her chinhanding, because she totally is. ]

[ Boring now that HOMRA's gone. ]
It's a place called Earth and I live in a country called Japan. In Shizume City, to be exact. [ But almost everything about it was... dull. So he'll talk about this. ] Mm, there are people in Japan called Kings, yeah? There are seven of 'em. Gold, Silver, Blue... [ His brows furrow. ] Well, the rest don't matter. Red's the best one.
[ He says it with a grin. ]

Your aura... that's why it's red?

[ If one could put a dozen more exclamation points here, he would. He gives the air a punch! ]
Yatagarasu, HOMRA's vanguard! That's what they call me!
no subject
[ yep, of course she's genuinely enthusiastic about this. ]

[ There seems to be more to that, but he stops there. He's oddly quiet. ]

Ah, sorry, I just— [ Tears start rolling down when he speaks, but he rubs his eyes to dry them and tries to hold himself together. ] Nevermind.
...Hey, Yang. I don't wanna talk about it anymore.

Even now, when on a whim, she reaches out to try and brush Yata's tears away, and her fingers pass right through him with no resistance.
... It's lonely, like this. And she hates seeing him sad when there's nothing she can do, except nod (which he can't see). There's something painful about Yata right now, and she doesn't dare ask, but-- ]
... Hey. Can you close your eyes for a second?
no subject
They're closed.
[ But he peeks through one eye... ]
no subject
Eyes closed or not, he'll feel two gentle, warm puffs against his eyelids and then her voice comes again, further back. ]
When you open your eyes again, you'll have happier sights coming to you soon. That's a Yang guarantee.
no subject
Okay. Um, can I open them now?
no subject
[ One she can't do much about just yet, but she's pretty sure she can find a way to make him smile sooner or later. She's got that much confidence. ]
no subject
Oh, haha... I knew that.
[ He thought she was going to do something else... but he can't tell her that! ]
Thanks.

I'll owe you something good when I'm not like this.
