[He really wasn't expecting Stahn to react so...desperately. Leon had known Stahn would react, because Stahn always worries about the safety of his companions. Stahn is always there to try to help or save the people who he thinks are his friends and it's just like Stahn.
Except... there's desperation behind those words, and that grip is tense, and the reaction came so quickly, and Leon's startled enough to look up at Stahn, hair falling into his face as he does, and...
It's a mistake, really. Looking Stahn in the eye for the first time since he snapped at him is a mistake. There's so much there--so much emotion, so much concern, so much of Stahn being Stahn, and Leon's stuck there for a moment, as if stunned. Why... does he keep hurting Stahn, anyway? How does he stop doing that? He'd thought with his death that all of this was over...that the feeling of disappointing and hurting Stahn was in the past now. That nothing would make him hurt him again.
And yet. Here they are.
And he clears his throat awkwardly at the realization (he doesn't like this, he wants Stahn to smile, he doesn't want to keep disappointing him--) before abruptly trying to pull away.]
I'm fine. [He shoots the robot a glare even as he brushes himself off, scoffing in a way that's almost a little too forced.] ... Let's keep going.
