There is a lot that just happened and he's not going to forget it. Not when that long-disused yet present part of him has finally awakened, buried ideas have resurfaced, and he doesn't know the difference between what this place was making him do and what his subconscious actually wanted to do. If it was the books...were they only controlling his hands, or his feelings as well? Are his desires truly his?
There's no way to know until he can be sure that he can keep his hands to himself of his own free will, that he has full control of himself again, and then, only then, can he think about what he wants. Whether to leave it be, or dig up one of those buried ideas and see if he can make anything of it. If, in the cold light of day, he can look at the cook and still feel that need, then...maybe.
