[Phase I]
[Freddie has no magic or superpowers. He doesn't even know how to wield weapons, except for a gun, and he doesn't like those very much. Plus he doesn't even own one here. And what good would a gun be against something incorporeal anyway?

Armed only with his old camera and a notebook, Freddie is hiding from all the chaos as best he can. This was horrifying, but like back home with monsters, Freddie's also enthralled. He wants to know what's going on, and that means some good ol' fashioned scientific observation.

However, there's just too many ghosts out there, and although Freddie's usually good at keeping aware of his surroundings, he doesn't see the ghost that's quickly coming up for him from behind. He's too busy taking photos that he doesn't even know if he can get developed here. Unless someone steps in to help, he's a goner.]

[Bonus]
[Supernatural things are alive and well in Freddie's world, but ghosts aren't something he's ever encountered, and they're only rumored to be true. Not only that, since he's completely mundane himself, armed only with the mind of a cryptozoology encyclopedia. The ghost vacuum device is very welcome. Now it's time to repay all the people that have been bailing him out.

Of course, this is still all very terrifying. Freddie will run at ghosts, weapon forward, and yelling in determination. But as soon as a ghost turns to him to fight back, he freaks out and backpedals, wildly swinging the vacuum in its direction and hoping for the best.

Turns out he still might need some help.]
