[ And, stupidly— he doesn't have much to say in the way of anything after Vietnam makes her statement, which would have served him fine in every other situation back in his own world. People didn't expect smalltalk from him, or for him to explain himself in terms of more personal matters; those things were irrelevant, and he doesn't care to say much about what just happened if Vietnam doesn't ask.

But, still. There's a runner of stiffness as he makes his way to the Gardens, weaving through whispers of ghosts that chant 'murder' (thanks guys, real reassuring).

When he finally breaks the silence, it's only to say:
