Who: Alisha & Mikleo [personal profile] patrimony & [personal profile] a_meebo
When: IC 5/1
Where: Zestiria apartment
What: Mikleos gives a naive Princess some baking lessons.
Rating/Warning: Nah.

[ Alisha feels fortunate to not only hear the Seraphim once more, but to be able to communicate iwth them once more. It's a little odd that she was recieving lessons from Mikleo like this, but she's certainly grateful to have a chance to do even this much. She never had a chance to do anything like this back at home, so why not take the opportunity while she has it? It'd be a good learning experience. While it wasn't cooking persay, who's to say that she won't want to bake some sweets in the future herself? And, she really is learning from the best.

As of now, they're in the apartment's kitchen. The technology here is still peculiar to her, but she trusts that Mikleo's gotten the hang of everything new in this room by now. ]

I truly do appreciate you taking the time to do this, Lord Mikleo.

[Mikleo loves the oven. And the mixer. And the blender. Basically, any of the technology needed to make cooking and baking easier? He loves it and has made sure to get familiar with how they work.

Familiar enough to teach Alisha how to bake with them, at least. He'll consider it a show of his gratitude for her help during Sorey's disappearance.]

It's not a problem at all, Alisha. Shall we start with butter cookies? Those might be the easiest way to get the hang of the oven and mixer.

Yep. That's the one.

[The water seraph approaches the oven, moving so that she can see what he's doing.]

So, first we'll set the oven to the temperature we need. Recipe books will usually tell you what number to have it heat up to, so I'd rely on those since I'm not sure how their degrees of temperature convert to ours. I've found that cookies generally need the oven to be about 375 degrees.

[He hits the 'Bake' button, which defaults to 375 thankfully, and hits the 'Start' button after.]

It'll heat up and keep it at that temperature. While it heats up, we can start mixing. Questions so far?

[Mikleo doesn't want to lose her, so he'll take this as slow or fast as she needs him to.]

That's for sure.

[Mikleo's certainly pleased by these inventions! He lists out all of the ingredients they need, pulling them out from where they're stored in the kitchen. The seraph lays them out on the counter next to the mixing bowl.]

Before we start mixing, we'll need to wash our hands. The last thing we need while handling food is to get people sick. And we'll need to wash our hands again when we're done putting in the ingredients.

Yeah, exactly.

[Ugh. Let's not find out if he can get a disease like humans can. After they wash their hands, Mikleo will continue.]

Okay. I think you'll learn best by doing rather than by example. So, let's start with the eggs, first. It'll be easier to clean and start again if you get some shell mixed in on accident.

[And with these cookies, the order of the ingredients really doesn't matter. The seraph leans against the counter out of Alisha's way so that he can observe.]

You'll need two eggs, since we're making double the original batch.
