Knights don't have katanas. [A pointed look. He's just as biased but there's a small hint of embarrassment then.] I don't really know history as well I know science but let's just say it was a really, really long time ago but the tradition's still kinda held up.

[Ahem. Anyway.] App. Like a program. You've seen the little icons on your CereVice haven't you? Those are different apps. There's one for calling, one for texting, one for the library now...for...whatever reason...they're programs to tell devices what functions to perform and provide a whole bunch of information. There're apps for games and movies and books--Tadashi made one, too. His is used to track people in the colony and it'll tell you when people show up or disappear and they're connected to his robotic birds that can pinpoint a person's location in the city via a tracking system. That's how he found out I was here in the first place.

[And GPS trackers in his hoodies are exactly how Tadashi kept tabs on him at home. It's clear that he likes to talk about these things and that he's comfortable explaining them.] Don't say I didn't warn you, okay? I don't mind questions either. [Especially when he knows he has the answers. With that, he launches into a rather detailed explanation about the dragon, the work Tadashi put in to design its flexibility and how Hiro modified the wings to be more aerodynamic and keep it up for longer periods of time and about the wiring and the engineering and the pyrotechnics involved (including pairing them with the hydraulics and modifying the temperature for the ice to stay cold enough and the flames to stay hot enough.)

It's a lot of discussion of metal and welding and programming and maybe he's talking a little too much but it's a pretty big project. And he finally stops and gives her another tentative grin.]
Like I said it's kinda complicated. But Tadashi and I have been inventing stuff since I was a kid so it was just about applying the same fundamentals we know about.
