A lot of time and money and effort goes into the dresses and the events. I think there's a main party and an after-party that goes on until well into the morning.
Though, in the movies, there's usually just a lot of drama, with big final confrontations and confessions happening.
[She gestures to the party at large] I think CERES or ViViD--or whoever's in charge of deciding these things--just knew proms were parties and decided to go with it. There's a lot of people here who clearly aren't students, after all.
