[Then again, given the questionable validity of this conversation, that certainly had been Padme's influence. Had to have been, what other answer is there? He's out of his element with politics and he knows it; they're boring, too often crooked, and real people hardly end up affected outside of having to suffer the aftermath of wars or negotiations they have no real say in. All politicians do, aside from, of course, the obvious exceptions, is make him impatient and more than a little irate.

But with the right influence, he finds that this is a reveal he doesn't mind all that much. Disagreements or no, Padme has a head on her shoulders, and cares even beyond that chamber where so many of her peers don't.

It's the second half of this that leaves him gaping and surprised all over again. Just when he's starting to come around to the idea...]
