What: Edgeworth takes his dog around, and runs into people. Adorbs ensues.
Rating/Warning: Dog. Grumpy prosecutor being a little less grumpy.

[OPTION A: RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT

Edgeworth is taking his dog out for a walk around the district. And before he can do anything, the big and very real tricolor border collie suddenly stands up on his hind legs and barks excitedly at the first person he sees (which is you, sorry). Pess may or may not brace his front paws on your thigh or any part of you he can reach, tail wagging with anticipation. It's a new friend. New friend!!! On the bright side, he's a pretty clean dog. NEW FRIEND!!!

Edgeworth doesn't care, and gasps at this public display of affection.]

Pess, no. [That firm "no" is all it takes for Pess to behave, although his tail is still wagging like crazy and he's panting and grinning as a dog would. Edgeworth sighs, shaking his head. He's quick to apologize.] I'm sorry; he enjoys meeting new people.

[Far more than his master.]

[OPTION B: SHOPPING DISTRICT

There's a cleaning robot. It's doing its business, sweeping up some debris from a nearby food stall. Suddenly, out of nowhere comes this border collie. He bounds over to the robot, starts sniffing it, and promptly raises one leg ominously over the poor thing.

What do you do, responsible citizen of Cerealia? What do you do - well, while Edgeworth hasn't caught up with his dog, anyway?]

[OPTION C: GARDENS

Pess is a pro at getting people to play with him. So while you're there, you may just find this dog walking up to you with a stick, or a ball, in his mouth. He drops this at your feet, wanting a game of fetch. If you take too long to decide what to do, he'll just sit down, tail wagging happily and staring up at you with those big pleading puppy eyes.

Edgeworth is close by. He'll be looking for his dog when Pess takes a bit too long to get back to him.]

[OPTION D: GARDENS/SHOPPING DISTRICT/RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT/POLICE DEPT.

Drop something? If you did, you might just find this dog picking it up and offering it back to you suddenly before Edgeworth can act. Yeah, I guess Edgeworth is in this prompt too. Thank his dog. And the master, maybe. THEY'RE GOOD PEOPLES...er, peoples and doge.]

[ what tadashi drops, or in this case, intentionally throws a few feet away from him is a ball. and what comes after it is not tadashi, but a miniature st. bernard cybuddy! demo, the cybuddy, sees pess and barks at him before speaking: ]

Hello! My name is Demo.

[prosecutory]

[Pess barks, dropping the ball he got in the process. He starts sniffing and trying to get to know this other dog excitedly; sorry, he only speaks dog. And while that happens, Edgeworth strides over, wondering where his precious pooch has run off to.]

Pess?

[The prosecutor pauses, and stares down at the other dog...hmm, a CYbuddy?]

[ the cybuddy looks up at the human, and scans him. nothing seems to be out of the ordinary, thinks the nurse dog. so he just barks again to greet him. ]

No, I'm Demo! Hello!

[Well, Takeru isn't going to say no to that! In fact, with his own CyBuddy walking on right him, he just started laughing]

[on the morning of the fourth, England wakes up finally. he's disoriented, doesn't even know what day it is. all he can think about are the last few moments of his life...

that's right. he was...

the first thing he needs to do is get home. ...no, the first thing he should probably do is think up the excuse he's going to tell Edgeworth when he gets back to the apartment after missing for a few days. the guy's a lawyer, he'll be able to tell if anything sounds fishy.

but England is quite certain he won't be able to tell Edgeworth anything, so... maybe he'll look convincing when he's lying? he's pretty good at that, hiding the truth.

in any case, he finds a place to wash his face before trudging home. it's still dark outside so it must be late. his CereVice still works like a key to get him into the apartment... what he wasn't expecting was the dog]

[Alice was sitting on the bench in the police station, sighing in absolute and utter boredom as she waited for Integra. Her feet were kicking back and forth and she had already finished all her homework from the Academy. She had started drawing and coloring instead. One of her colored pencils rolled away and she started to set everything aside to go get it, only Pess beat her to it.]

Oh! Why thank you so much! You're such a good dog! [She started to scratch and pet him behind the ears and smiled bright.] Ah, are you one of those doggies they use to run after nasty criminals? You must be such a brave dog!

[it doesn't matter, really, why Kaneda's in the gardens. It certainly isn't for the sightseeing or anything, or the healthy air.

Either way, when he's approached by Press, he'll stare at him for a couple of seconds, and then dutifully ignore the little guy.]

No....no, shoo...go find a girl to hump. Go on.

[ But why would anyone stop him, when there is a little black-and-gray corgi trotting over to join him gamely in whizzing on the robot.

And then there's Yang, coming to haul him away, Ruby somewhere behind her. ]

Hey--! What'll you do if you get yourself zapped doing that??

Dog! Nooooo!

[This is Ruby's helpful contribution, even as she runs in to shoo the dogs away from the robots.]

[if edgeworth hadn't said no, stahn would have been completely content to play with pess with the same level of enthusiasm.

but it's fine though, because even once he's calmed a bit, stahn will still crouch to his level, smiling and laughing a bit. excited dog can have some vigorous headpats from human-puppy incarnate himself.]

It's fine! He seems like he's really friendly. You don't see too many things like that around here! [you know, real animals. it's refreshing.]

( Cassandra has not been here very long - a week, maybe less - and she's still doing her best to get used to her new surroundings. She mislikes this place; it is too clean, too perfect on the outside not to be hiding secrets and corruption. While she's not dressed in her full armour, even in her leathers she looks somewhat out of place. She has never been one to pay much attention to fashion, but even she knew she stood out here, and she wasn't sure how comfortable she truly was with that.

She's making a mental map of the streets when her concentration is scattered by the sound of bounding paws, and before she can even turn around, or draw her sword from its sheath (a force of habit), the dog has leapt up on her, tail wagging madly.

This is no Fereldan warhound but all the same, the dog is quick to respond to his master's commands, sitting back on his haunches with not so much as a whinny, although the grin on his face makes it clear that he had his way, Cassandra's face would be covered with slobbery, canine kisses. )

It's fine. ( She says, eyes trained on the man as she slides her sword back into the scabbard, having made it a third of the way out before she had analysed the situation. ) You've trained him well.

( Despite the compliment, Cassandra still eyes the dog warily, as though at any moment something may tempt it to act out irrationally. She's never really been much of an animal person. )

[Oh. Ohhhh. While Pess braces his front paws on Edgeworth's thigh and gets a pat on the head, the prosecutor regards the CYbuddy.]

Ah, er...I was referring to my dog. [He gestures to his pet. Is he talking to robots again? Apparently.] It's...nice to meet you, Demo.

[What else does he say??]

[Yamutto...really, Takeru?]

[Edgeworth glances at the CYbuddy. Pess now moves over to sniff at Yamutto and try to get to know this dog who doesn't smell like a regular dog. But he'll be back for you, Takeru. HE'LL BE BACK.]

I hope not; Pess is also eager to meet other dogs. Even robotic ones.

[prosecutory]

[Oh no. Though Pess doesn't try and jump up on her again, his tail is wagging at Mach speed and he's panting and so happy. He leans in as if to tell her that he likes being petted in other places too.]

It's difficult to meet new dogs here, unless you prefer robot dogs.

[It's true.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth is asleep right now; that's how late it is.

The border collie was asleep in his dog bed, but the click and the creak of the door opening wakes him, and he sits straight up. Then he bounds toward England excitedly.

Incoming jumping dog and slobbery kisses.]

okay, that's not how this is going to go down. it's not his first time encountering an excited dog while on a stroll with his own companion, but this little pooch seems pretty excited! steven doesn't falter when she hops up on her hind legs to paw at his thigh - on the contrairy, he'll be more than happy to give her a scratch behind the ears. ]

You're a feisty one, aren't you?

[ he'll look up when he hears a voice, and it does belong to a face that he recognizes - he fought alongside this man in ViViD back when he arrived. they had never exchanged names, but the way he holds himself intrigues steven. aron looks on as well, tilting her head curiously at dog and owner. ]

It's quite alright. As long as he's friendly, there's nothing to worry about.

[prosecutory]

[Pess raises a foot and leans against Alice's knee, just reveling in all the scratching and petting. He half-closes his eyes in contentment.

After some scratching and petting time has elapsed, Edgeworth emerges from one of the offices with a stack of folders, and stops at the sight of his dog befriending a young girl. He can't help but smile faintly; Pess was making friends left and right at this rate.]

Ah, I see you've met Pess. I trust he hasn't been a bother? [Doesn't look like it.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth hasn't quite found his dog yet, so Pess will just keep sitting there, staring. Puppy dog eyes at full throttle.

C'mon, you know you want to throw him a stick.]

[prosecutory]

[Just as Ruby and Yang try to do damage control, Edgeworth bursts into the scene and bellows while pointing his finger:]

HOLD IT!

[Pess at first huddles with Ruby and Zwei, and then bounds over to Edgeworth, who gives his dog a look of deep disapproval before remembering that Yang and Ruby were there too. The disapproval is gone from his face when he regards the two girls, although he sighs, holding a hand to his forehead.]

Thank you for stopping him, I suppose.

[prosecutory]

[You just placed your face within range of slobbery doggy kisses, Stahn. Enjoy them, because Pess is going to try and lick your hand and your face. Somehow he can tell that Stahn is 100% friendly.]

That is true. Many of the dogs here are CYbuddies, not real ones. [Edgeworth nods in agreement, folding his arms across his chest. There was nothing at all like a real, truly live dog.]

It's nice to meet you too!

[ and here comes tadashi, running towards his cybuddy because wow. what have you been doing, little guy? ]

Demo-oh... [ another dog! ] Mr. Edgeworth, hey.

[doge attack! England makes a noise of surprise as Pess catches him completely off-guard. he almost knocks the nation over in the dark.

the sound of England and the dog wake up the fairy. soon, it also tackles England... well, England's head]

Sir England, Sir England! You're back!

[prosecutory]

[If Cassandra got close enough, within range, Pess would let loose with the canine kisses faster than Edgeworth would be able to stop him. The prosecutor is almost sure that despite all his training, Pess' reflexes would still top his.

Anyway, Edgeworth can't help but bow.]

Thank you. He isn't perfect, of course, and remains very excitable.

[Right now? Edgeworth places a gentle but firm hand on Pess' neck. Normally he would allow Pess to greet people who were more than amenable to such displays of affection, but this woman looked like a no-nonsense type.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth, likewise, recognizes this young man; although the same can't quite be said for the young man's companion. Anyway, Pess is enjoying the scratches, although the other creature...doesn't quite look like the kind that likes to be scratched.

The prosecutor shrugs and shakes his head, with a grin of agreement.]

He can be too friendly at times.
