DIES ON THE FLOOR

[ It's not as simple as that. He still has no idea why Uther fears it so much. Doesn't know what happened other than there was a time when too many sorcerers who used their powers for bad and control was lost. He knows Gaius practiced it once. He knows Gaius is a good person, too. He knows Nimueh is -- was -- part of the problem before he took her life and while that leaves a bitter taste in his mouth he firmly believes she deserved it.

She tried to kill him. Then she tried to take Arthur away from him. Then his mother. Then Gaius.

He gets why some people without any power to stop a sorcerer might fear them, but he's saved Arthur's and Uther's lives so many times already it's draining to know that he'd still be burned alive come dawn if either found out. Or at least if Uther found out... he's still not sure about Arthur. ]

That's my... destiny. [ He says the word dryly. ] To ensure Arthur lives to become King. To create Albion. To create a place where magic won't be punished. Arthur isn't. He isn't like his father, I think one day he'll understand but I can't make him choose. What is important is just being there for him.

[ Widget on the other hand he doesn't really notice. He's more focused on the words she says because no. No. ] You can't. I mean... He might not hold any power here but if he could do something, he'd have you punished just for supporting magic. [ Sadly she only made the panic go up. ]

I'll figure it out over time, I mean I am a trusted servant now so. [ His own smile is a little shaky but he's trying to explain this clearly. ]
