Open!
Who:
mermaiding & you!
When: Like ICly 10/29ish. After the event
Where: Various
What: After becoming visible again, Oona 'celebrates' by touching everyone to reconfirm that she's solid
Rating/Warning: Random touching?
[Being invisible had been one thing-- she could deal with that. Sure it made everything a little difficult, but it could have helped her in the long run; you know, if she could have touched people.
She hadn't thought about how much she'd miss it until it was gone. It was...lonely. Cold. She'd felt more bitter and angry than she had in months, trying desperately to get the attention of others to no avail. It hadn't taken long for the anger to change to despair, and it had taken all she had not to cry when she found herself 'cured'.
It was a cautious optimism, but it had quickly grown to an almost mania as she ran around the streets, mostly looking or familiar faces, but strangers weren't immune either as she suddenly grabbed onto people with open delight]
Ah! Touch! Can touch you! You can feel, yes? Touching you! [She grabs at arms and hands, pressing at the skin and squeezing hands (lightly, she's mindful of her inhuman strength thankyouverymuch), even going so far as rubbing her cheek against shoulders if the person isn't too tall or doesn't throw her off right away.]
[Closed for Tenka]
[There is one specific person she's looking for though, and she's quick to track him down to his house again. She debates a moment on how best to go about contacting him, and while she knows deep down that calling him first would be best... Yeah she's not doing that.
She raises her fists and knocks. Insistently. No pausing until he answers eeeyyy.]

[She reaches for Poko, wanting to grab Poko up and press her face to her fur or something.]
Did not think how much touch would be missed. [A light sigh.]

Both Poko and Kagemitsu allows her to pick Poko out of Kagemitsu's arms, and he smiles. He's had the same therapy with Poko way too many times, now. Poko-therapy is the best, really.
He's sobering up at the following, though; ]
It's really weird to not be able to do it, isn't it.
no subject
Kagemitsu's words get her looking up though as she prepositions Poko in her arms for optimal petting.] You were the same? Was... [Oona pauses, not sure she has the words to describe how much it disturbed her.]
Touch very important to my people. Touch and body language. Without either, might as well have been blind.
no subject
Yeah. It's not as important in my culture but to me it's definitely important, so I sort of know how you feel. [ He adds the "sort of" because it's not like he knows exactly how she feels about it. ]
no subject
[She looks down at Poko thoughtfully.] Was Poko alright? Only heard of it, eh... happening to people.
no subject
Poko was fine. Nothing happened to him, at least, but he was a bit distressed. [ But that wasn't weird, was it? ]
no subject
Animals are better than humans. Do not know why some choose to stay with them. Why does Poko stay and not leave? Could, could he not? But he stays. Weird.
If was me, would have eaten you in your sleep.
[Thanks Oona.]
i'm sorry for the delay, I have absolutely no excuse. feel free to ignore this if you want to.
I like humans and animals about the same. Though humans can definitely be crueler, from what I know of. [ Except the Orochi.. But the Orochi was, well, the Orochi. There was no comparison, for him. ] So humans in general are worse, even if not all are bad.
Poko stays because he's chosen to. I don't know why, but I know he's always been there, and that he apparently will be there for my descendants as well.
That's...good to know. [ Thankfully, he's heard weirder things. ] I guess.
it's cool! I'm up for continuing if you are!
Oona's looking at him like she's never actually seen him before--though it's more like he's finally given her a reason to notice him beyond "the human with the cute pet."]
You believe that? About humans being worse? Have not heard many humans admit such things. [Her brow furrows] You are human, yes?
no subject
He looks back, and tilts his head a little to the side. ]
I do. I also think that humans should admit their faults, and when they're doing something wrong, so that they can rectify that. Unfortunately, people rarely does that. [ Huh? ] I am, yes. Is it really that weird?
no subject
Is very weird. Huans are arrogant and full of pride. Do not admit being wrong I they can help it. [A pause and she adds, a bit awkwardly:] Usually. Have met different ones here, sometimes.
But is not common. [Oona's brow furrows and she taps her fingers on Poko] Do not know what to do with this... Was easier when all humans were the same.
no subject
Not everyone are arrogant. No matter what someone is, human or otherwise, there are many different personalities to be found, even in one place. [ As can be seen in this place. ] Arrogance and pride are two different things, too.
But it's good you've met people who are different. You might think they're rarer than they are, though. [ It was easier..? ] Easier to think that all humans are bad? [ If he's read into her words correctly. He grins. ] I'm sure you'll manage to figure it out.
no subject
[She slowly resumes petting Poko, before lowering it gently back to the ground.] Exactly. Do not like liking humans. It makes things complicated. [Oona heaves a sigh and rests her hands on her hips, tilting her head as she regards him again.]
But people like you or Tenka or others are too nice. It is weird. Am rude, or mean, but you and they just accept it, say nice-sounding things like that. Do not know how.
no subject
I hope you'll figure out how to look on us, now that we've made it complicated for you.
[ It's hard not to know how to think of others.
But Tenka is like that after all, and Kagemitsu has noticed that it might be a Kumou trait. ]
...you know Tenka, Nee-san? [ He wasn't aware of that. ]
no subject
Yes, of course! He is always sticking nose where it does not belong, would be more surprised to find people who do not know him. [But it's said fondly and she laughs a little.] Yes. Know him. You know him as well?
[She's sure he introduced himself by his full name before, but honestly Oona wasn't paying that much attention........]
no subject
That sounds like him. [ And very much like a Kumou. He's proud (even if he wants Tenka not to get in trouble) ] He's my descendant. There's 600 years between us, but he's family and I love him.
[ It's many years, but it changes nothing. ]
