Who: steven stone (

What: a general day-to-day mingle log with steven and his team of horricute pocket monsters. steven will eventually show up in each thread to ~~bail you out~~ say hello.
Rating/Warning: PG for... battling? it's pokémon guys it's not gonna be hardcore

I. SKARMORY

[ out of all of steven's pokémon, skarmory is the one who enjoys being on his own the most. it's actually quite common to find him away from steven's side, flying around the colony and resting on building rooftops. it's a habit of his lonely nature... and he likes to think that it makes him look cool.

today, he's found himself quite curious at not the colony itself, but its residents. as you're walking throughout the city going about your day, you may take notice to the fact that you're being followed by a fairly large metal bird. maybe you've got a delicious-looking snack with you. maybe he likes that hat you're wearing. or maybe he just thinks you look like you'd be fun to mess with. whatever the reason, whenever you look up, you'll see skarmory looking right back down at you with intrigued, yellow eyes.

better not make too many sudden movements - those wings look sharp as blades, and he's a bird of prey. ]

II. CRADILY

[ if you're in the CERES gardens for a stroll, you might notice that something is a little... out of place. while most of the flowers and plants are of a reasonable size, there's one that's "planted" into the ground that looks as alien as can be. its roots have visibly lodged into the ground, and it seems to be basking in the sunlight's gentle rays. those petals sure look weird, too! and what the heck is up with that dark crescent opening and weird patterns on its head? welp, this is an alien planet. maybe it's not so weird after all.

if you're curious (or brave) enough for a closer look, you'll be greeted with two glowing, yellow orbs staring at you. that isn't any plant - that's a cradily, and you've interrupted her lunch/nap combo. her neck stretches as she begins to wake, and with the way those "petals" are moving and flexing, maybe sticking around isn't be the best idea...

...wait, those are tentacles. ]

III. ARON & AGGRON

[ if you frequent the junkyard (what a nice place to spend your time), you'll find that you aren't alone today. even the biggest behemoths need time to get fresh air and eat some good grub, and aggron is no exception. a junkyard full of steel means plenty of delicious leftover iron ore to snack on, and who doesn't love diving into a pile of snacks? no one, that's who.

aron has tagged along on the excursion as well - while she doesn't need nearly as much ore as her big brother, a growing girl needs her food! and with luck, maybe she can find something cool in this pile to bring back to her trainer. if they notice someone nearby, they'll stop their pigging out for long enough to look inquisitively at you. if you're friendly, aron will even waddle over to introduce herself and help you with whatever you're looking for. how friendly! ]

IV. BELDUM

[ the baby of the group always seems to get itself into trouble. beldum lives up to that reputation well, due to the fact that today, it's literally gotten itself stuck in a garbage can. that's really all there is to this prompt - in its latest attempt to be brave and independent, it decided that checking out that overturned trash can with space to float into would be cool... until it got spooked by the dark and turned it over completely, trapping it inside.

if you're passing by in the shopping district, you might be surprised to see an overturned trash can making distressed beeping and chirping noises while moving around jerkily. poor beldum isn't strong enough to lift it with its magnetism just yet - will you be its saviour? ]

V. STEVEN & METAGROSS Steven OD.png

[ in a nice, peaceful turn of events for this post, you may simply come across steven and metagross in the residental district park. steven is taking the time to relax, book in hand as he rests against his partner's front leg. metagross doesn't seem particularly bothered at all, resting quietly and watching people go by. beside them lays a mask, its lips caught in an expression somewhere in between a smile and a frown.

if you know them, come on over and say hello! if not, come on over and ask what the hell that five-foot tall metal monster is! ]

VI. ALL Steven OD.png

[ in the absence of a proper battling arena, the best place steven has found for training is ViViD's virtual environments. it keeps property damage to a minimum while allowing him to formulate strategies that can be fluidly applied to real life battles.

he's reserved time in one of the PVP arenas for space, but he's the only "player" inside. in the arena, he's surrounded by all of his team members (even the little ones), watching him with enthusiasm once they've been released from their poké balls. ]

We'll be doing some general training today - strength, agility, and move combinations. Let's do our best, everyone.

[ a champion has to keep himself and his team in tip-top shape, after all. if you're curious upon seeing that there's only one player in this arena, you'll walk in to see a virtual barrage of organized chaos - pointed stones erupting from the ground in various patterns, large boulders scattered about, acid bubbling on the ground, small, hastily dug holes in various areas...

and steven in the middle of it all, orchestrating each move. when he's not dictating move combinations, he's watching over agility training, watching his pokémon spar and helping them along. it's a scary, yet strangely captivating scene, especially because everyone seems to be having fun - even steven himself. it isn't often that you'll see such an excited smile on his face. ]

[He understands the apprehension- after all, it looks pretty rare and too many people in his own world would have been quick to catch it rather than to help it. Minato tucks his hands into his pockets before giving the Beldum another glance, looking in the same direction it's pointed at.]

You're brave. ... [He was about to suggest they leave, when he suddenly gets a better idea and fishes out his CereVice to show it to Beldum while scrolling down the list of people.] Do you recognize any of these people?

[ oh! he knows that thing - steven has one, too! and he uses it to talk to people, so maybe...

oh!!! oh!!!!! when minato scrolls by steven's name, it chirps excitedly and tilts down, trying to point at its trainer's name in the most accurate way it can without arms. what a good idea! ]

[Minato stops immediately after hearing Beldum chirp and takes a close look at the list of names. He hasn't quite been able to put it together before as he's only seen Skarmory out of Steven's Pokemon, but instinct tells Minato that out of the people listed Steven seems to be Beldum's most likely owner.

With that said he points a finger at Steven's name to help the excited little creature out, smiling a little because its reaction is adorable.]

Is he your owner? I know him too.

[ !!!! oh my gosh!!!! you know steven!!!! yes!!!! those words don't quell its excitement at all, prompting more excited chirps and movements around him. they have a mutual friend! isn't that awesome?

it likes you (and trusts you!) a lot more now, minato. now they can really get along! ]

[The excited chirps elicit a soft chuckle from Minato, finding it really cute that this tiny creature is now moving around him and likes him.]

Let me just call him then and I'll take you to him, alright? [He makes the call shortly, looking around to see if there's any landmarks if it'd make it easier for Steven to find them.]

Good afternoon, Steven. It's Minato...I found one of your companions near the park. We're near the north entrance, would you like me to look for you or will you be coming here?

[ MEANWHILE... steven has been looking around the residential district for poor little beldum, all to no avail. he's sure it wouldn't have run away for a reason - he mentioned needing to run some errands, so maybe it thought it could help him... regardless, he shouldn't have kept his eye off of it for as long as he did.

but then his cerevice rings, and... huh. he recognizes that name. ]

Minato? [ ... ] You found Beldum? Thank goodness... [ ... ] No, stay where you are. I'll be there in just a moment.

[ and he isn't kidding about that! he's a little far from the park, but taking to the skies with skarmory means that he can reach them in no time. he's able to spot them from the air, arriving only minutes after hanging up with minato. ]

[ he'll dismount off of skarmory's back as it swoops close to the ground, approaching them with a relieved expression. beldum looks elated to see its trainer, leaving minato's side to rocket straight into steven's chest and nuzzle itself there. he'll embrace it, but not without having to step back a bit from the impact. ]

There you are... How many times have I told you not to wander like that?

[ he's technically scolding, but he's just happy to see it safe. ]

[Minato's already aware of Steven's Skarmory, so it comes as little surprise to him when he hears the flapping of wings minutes after cutting the conversation. So Beldum is what it's called... He waves at the pair when they arrive, and smile seeing Beldum basically lunging at Steven- How cute.]

Hey, Steven and Skarmory. I found Beldum stuck under a trash can just now, and I'm glad that it's alright now.

You have my gratitude, Minato. It would have taken much longer to find it if you hadn't first.

[ he lifts his eyes up from beldum to meet the younger boy's, his smile polite, but relieved. that changes into something more surprised at his next words, looking down at beldum again. ]

A trash can? How on earth...

[ beldum simply chirps innocently, hoping that acting cute can get it off scott-free. ]

[Beldum's innocent chirps remind Minato of simpler days when Koromaru would whine his way to anything he wanted, and he laughs softly.]

It might have been looking for something to give to you. I guess it's still a little too young to know that there's not much to find in a trash can.

That sounds like something you would do... Is that right?

[ another innocent chirp, and steven can't help but smile. he's always had a soft spot for his favourite pokemon, and this beldum is no exception. ]

Well, the important thing is that it was found before getting into something dangerous. Again, thank you.

[Minato understands that sentiment since he's spent a long time having only animals as companions, and it's clear from his faint smile that he's really amused by the baby Pokemon, if not as fond of it as Steven clearly was.]

You're welcome. [Minato points to Skarmory shortly after, as if he has something to ask.]

It seems really tiny compared to your Skarmory...is it a baby?

[ he nods, letting go of beldum to let it float by his side. it's a little smelly from the trash can, but it's nothing a bath can't fix. ]

All Beldum are this size regardless of age, but you're still correct - it hatched from its egg shortly before I was brought to the colony.

I see. [He doesn't know they're called Pokemon yet, but Minato's pretty impressed anyway watching Beldum float beside its master.

He returns a stare when it looks at him. It's pretty awkward, to be honest.]

That would explain how it got stuck in the trash can...guess it's too young to be on its own.

I do try to give it its freedom, but not keeping a close eye on it can be... problematic.

[ he turned his back for two seconds. TWO. SECONDS. ]

Though I'd say this was a good learning experience, seeing as things turned out fine in the end. You have learned your lesson, correct?

[ with rapid chirps and nods, beldum affirms it. no more leaving steven's side to look at shiny things unless he comes along! it could be dangerous! it knows now! ]

Looks like it's learned its lesson. [There's something about this that amuses Minato, and it clearly shows in his smile.]

It's been nice talking to you again, but I should be going now. See you. [This is finished with a small wave of the hand at Steven, Beldum and Skarmory.]
