[It's something he'd sort of expected, from the bits and pieces and snippets he'd heard over the last year with Haru. That's the reason he had joined them in the first place, right? Something about sending his siblings away - they're in... foster care, now? A safer place, with parents who will love them and accept them and treat them with care and not-- scream, pull their hair...
It's a reality, he knows. Not every parent will love their children properly. Not every parent is suitable to be a parent. But his love and loyalty are fierce, and he can't help but feel angry about these people who made Haru's life anything less than the beautiful thing he deserves.
So as he works, finishing fishing out the pieces of glass and beginning to wrap up his foot, he says one thing first:]
You're loved, you know? I hope you remember that. I'll remind you more often, if I have to.
[He'll probably start doing that anyway, especially after this entire mess.]
