[Look... look! She might've expected his thanks for it. He doesn't know! People are mysterious creatures and Leon only understands the bare minimum when it comes to emotions and feelings.

And he fails to see how this is right, and he fails to see how this is a good path for her to take. She's clueless, and an idiot, and aggravating, but even so, all he can say in response to that after looking her over for a long moment is:]


You are not naive.

[Now, after having seen his past and the situation, and still deciding to want to be beside him then... that isn't naive.]

But there's...a part of him that's relieved. That even as she stops crying, that's what she says--that she won't stop. That she doesn't want to stop. He's not sure what he's done to deserve loyalty like that, but... it's new enough to him to be a little exhilarating too.]
