[You know how Kousetsu's been leaving food offerings at their new makeshift Dropped Sword Minishrine? Well Naki thought it'd be a great idea to do the same thing for Mikazuki, who - while not gone exactly - is still kinda...well....not around?

So when the long-lost sword butterfly pops his head out of his cocoon, he might notice a certain uchi about to add a small plate of rainbow flower fruit gummies at the door.

...He kinda froze when Mikazuki spoke up though. Caught!?]

Eh? Naki-kun? [ He doesn't mind it that someone WAS indeed out here since he was kind of hoping for it. Luckily, any of Mikazuki's recent general weirdness is also forgotten in favor of eyeing those gummies. Junk food like this are still something he never quite got the grasp of so whenever he sees anything like candy...it's always a bit of a surprise. ] Oh. What are those? They look so colorful...

[ One of his hands manage to sneak out of the blanket cocoon he's made for himself, plucking one of the gummies up and holding it up to the light. He's squinting a little before squishing and squeezing the gummy, then plopping it into his mouth -- HE DOES ALL THAT BEFORE EVEN ASKING... ] You're supposed to eat these, right?

[Does Mikazuki's reaction mean he likes them? Naki picked them because he hoped Mikazuki would like them. Rainbow colors! Flower shapes! He nods at that last question, slowly relaxing a bit as he...properly sets down the plate, and kneels down at the older sword's level.]

Is it good?

It is...haha, thank you. They're all very cute shapes and colors, I appreciate that you brought them here for me. [ Mikazuki kinda sorta realizes that there was an accumulating shrine for him outside his door but he's not sure why? He HAS been kind of holed up in his room for a few days, almost a week so maybe the others were worried... ]

I hope no one was too concerned over me. I realize it's not very like me to not be out and about but...ah, I suppose even an old man like me can feel silly about some things. [ It's always easy to talk to Nakigitsune, he's a good listener and both him and his fox have always been kind to him. Perhaps this is why he feels he can spill out a bit of his worries to him. ]

[Holed up long enough his door has become another shrine...truly the most holy of swords. (???) Smallest fox perks up though, tail waving as he speaks up.]

There's nothing silly about it! Nakigitsune often needs time alone as well - and we've never seen you hide away like this before, so it must have been a long-deserved rest.

[Is it okay to pet Mikazuki? Because he's in easy petting reach and Naki's taking advantage of that.]

[ It's okay to pay him though he's a little surprised by it! No one ever really pats his head in the same way that he happily pats others but he has to admit...it's very nice. He feels comforted and he's able to smile a little! Mikazuki even manages a small laugh... ]

I think it was long overdue, yes. Aha, I'm just glad that we're no longer in that weird place but knowing CERES, I wonder where we'll end up next at this rate. [ Mikazuki thinks that he prefers the ViViD randomness than being physically dumped who knows where. ] Still. I DO hope that you didn't go through anything unpleasant while we were...wherever that was.

[Even the oldest and fanciest swords need headpats sometimes! Naki believes in this universal truth.

Mikazuki's words just sort of emphasize the need for pats, really. Did he go through unpleasant things? Did he see sad memories maybe, he knows that mirror place was pretty bad for...the other swords.......]

.....I didn't. [Unless you count losing his mask to terrors of the deep.]

We were lucky enough to come out of that ordeal without too much in the way of injuries or problems...Are you alright though, Mikazuki-dono? We wouldn't want to disturb you, if you need more rest.

[ It's a relief to hear that...Mikazuki wouldn't wish that mirrored room especially on even his worst enemy. Nakigitsune was fortunate to have avoided it and the older sword won't dare to talk about it. He still feels so overly exposed but he's thankful that Naki and his fox don't seem to know anything about it. ]

Please don't continue to worry too much about this old man, haha. I'm doing much better now and I don't think isolating myself will help...I appreciate both of your company quite a bit.

[Naki did visit that mirror room...he just didn't have any traumatic memories for it to take advantage of.

He keeps patting, for now.]

We're glad you're feeling better...everyone was worried, you know. [Including Naki and fox.]

[ Head pats are so nice...he really doesn't get enough of them. The way Naki keeps patting makes Mikazuki feel like a little kid in a way but it's so nice? Very comforted. ]

Ah, were they? I should properly apologize later. I did not mean to cause worry but I felt...strange. Not quite like the Mikazuki Munechika that I am "supposed" to be. [ HE'S LEARNING...slowly but surely. ] Thank you though, for all the worrying and the head pats.

[The Mikazuki Munechika he's supposed to be.....that gets a questioning look from Nakigitsune. What was Mikazuki's story again...is he supposed to be beautiful? Because he's still very pretty, even with the blanket burrito.

It's alright! Nakigitsune enjoys giving headpats, and we are happy simply to see you again.

[ It sounds more complicated than he's letting on but it's a long story and grandpa is enjoying his head pats...if Nakigitsune and his fox want to know the story, then he'd be happy to tell them. At the moment however, he'll reach over to give both fox and sword returning head pats.

They deserve them too. ] Naki-kun gives very good ones, haha. I think I'll be alright now, besides! I have your "offering" to help me feel better if I ever feel less than my best. [ Nothing heals like cute gummy snacks. ]

[Headpats for foxes!!! They both close their eyes at the pats, obviously enjoying the returned affection.]

What kind of offerings would you give me? [ He can only guess but he'd rather not have a shrine dedicated to him like that. He's still here, after all -- and still giving Naki and his fox happy, little head pats. ]

Come to think of it, I think I'd like it better if we could go shopping for things like your gummy treats. I'm still learning about "junk food" so next time we can, let's go together.

[They should be saying something like That's a great idea! or We'll go anytime you like! but the headpats are too distracting....even smallest fox is getting quiet and leaning into Mikazuki's hand.]

...Yes, we'd--love to go with you...whenever you like.
