He doesn't care one bit that the outfit he's wearing is covered in blood and some cuts here and there. He can be fast with his feet, but he's no long distance runner; he can't run at his top speed for miles!
He's out of breath as he has his back against a tree, trying to keep himself quiet as he hears someone nearby. He's hoping they'll go by without noticing him, he doesn't want to kill anymore than he needs to. ]
