While he might have found the creature a handful to deal with and a bit irritating when the dog first unexpectedly showed up, after Cerberus protected him from those mechanical monsters when they were trapped in the dark zone, when Nico had been shaken by having his memories of Tartarus and being held captive brought to the surface, after Cerberus got hurt because Nico hadn't been paying attention... He won't take the dog for granted ever again. As long as Cerberus is here, he's his dog, as far as Nico is concerned, and nobody hurts or insults his dog.]
