He's totally serious, Kaneda - Duo is a pro at running and hiding when it suits him. Which, right now, is all that's really keeping him sane. Duo did take note of which way they'd gone, though, intent on getting back to helping the other kid (however grudgingly) when he gets himself a little more inconspicuous to the current enemy he's dealing with. His hair gets pinned to the back of his head in what's almost an after thought - His shirt as dry as he can get it after trying to scrub as much of the blood as he could out of it. The idea of chasing down someone he barely knows just because they're being chased by some monster doesn't really spur him as a great idea, but...

Sitting in a tree was pretty boring, so he heads in the direction where they went, albeit a bit more carefully than the breakneck run he'd kept pace with not too long before, hoping that if he caught the beast off of its guard he could maybe manage to find a weak spot, shoot it there, and finally kill it.

.... Plus, there's a sneaking suspicion that he'd need his ears more than his eyes to find him.
