It would have been sooner, but the wind magic the other boy had cast to clear away the dust had thrown him off-course, knocking him a little away from his prey before he could reach him. It wasn't enough to do anything aside from being an obnoxious set-back, so Yusuke had been able to shake it off and keep with his plan until the time was just right.
Hopefully this worked! Being the descendant of a battle-god of a demon make him more clever at battle curves than the average man-hungry demon, but it was getting obnoxious to put in this effort for some food.]
