...They'd turn you into a dusk, or destroy you.

[he mutters the words, bluntly and bitterly. that was always their solution to these things, wasn't it? if a nobody betrayed them or expended their usefulness, they lost any remaining free will they had.

xemnas kept everyone under his thumb that way. sure, saïx may have been a lot more heavy-handed about it, but it was all to meet the same ends. those in castle oblivion, xion—even roxas himself hadn't been free of threats like that. he knows it, too. it's meant that living in cerealia has been arduous at times—not knowing if or when someone would suddenly pop out of a corridor to drag him back to headquarters and try to end his life. they weren't above it.

so even without knowing what happened with naminé, he understands that much. there's no getting around the fact that her reason for being in hiding was because whatever did happen... they were after her. it does leave him to wonder who was tasked with finding her, and just what happened. they were missions that never met his ears, and axel never mentioned anything of the sort either...

(though he's not even sure why he'd expect axel of all people to tell him things. that's a can of worms for another day.)

of course, he doesn't know the greater implications of what her destruction would mean, and he'd really be none too pleased at this juncture if he was to learn he was supposed to return to sora; he and riku clashed enough over things of that nature.]
