[The cultural festival at the school has been in full-on planning mode for a few weeks. Rise is no exception to the planning and included in the flyers that have gone up is a notice printed on bright pink paper and bold lettering for a very special event.

The booth itself has been set up with a small cluster of tables to accommodate for the amount of people who have been signed up and even for a few last-minute sign-ups. The tables themselves have been decorated with special candles and a tray containing two bowls, two spoons, and a a tray with all the ingredients needed for an ice cream sundae.

At the front of the booth is a collection of heart-shaped name tags with all of the names of each individual whose signed up, along with a number attached. Rise will smile at each person, handing both the name tag and a small envelope to them with instructions not to open it until she says so.

It’s only when everyone has arrived and is crowded inside the booth that she pulls out a megaphone (and really, who gave her that?) and she turns it on.]

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Cerealia School Speed-Matching event! Meeting people can be really hard here, but don’t worry, we’re making it easy! You’ll see that the tables all have numbers assigned to them. On my count, open your envelopes and see who you’re starting with. When the bell rings, switch partners! Seems pretty simple, huh?

[Nobody gets to get a say in this apparently, but they may see one Yu Narukami who’s sitting on the table behind Rise just watching everyone casual as can be. Why is he wearing glasses? Who knows.]

Okie dokie! Let’s get this show on the road! On your mark…get set…open!

[Hope you’re ready, colonists. Inside each envelope is a starter number for the first match, and also a list of starter questions for asking people about themselves. Some people have lists corresponding with the speed dating route, while others are for the “friends only” route. But wait…what’s that? Some of those lists are crosswired? Your character would try to mingle with everybody and flirt anyway? Well hey. At least people will be talking and mingling.

Oh, and don’t mind the people who may wander in and out of the event. Rise will try to moderator the event to her best ability but hey, she’s pretty social herself. Some people are bound to slip in and out under her watch. Have fun! And remember, beware of the bell! (Or Rise announcing "SWITCH" in a loud voice via megaphone, same thing.)]

Still...it was definitely real in his hands. Which was natural in one way and not in another. He sets it on the table so the snake can do what it wants.]

I've experienced an eternity and can say I've never seen something like that. I'll admit that I didn't expect to have to hold up my end of the bargain but it looks like I'll have to. Even so, I'd be careful with a 'trick' like that. The more religious types might find it an offense.

[ Once on the table, the snake will just casually explore their table and see what's interesting. Though, it'll want to return towards Giorno. ]

They should be fine given that I can't turn water into wine. [ But he could cure the blind, probably. He has never tried nor has it ever really occurred to him trying. Still, the tone is light disregarding the fact he just joked with a guy who claimed to have experienced an eternity.... ]

If you could, I'd like to see you replicate Crocea Mors. That should be acceptable, right?

...an interesting choice of weaponry. And probably a predecessor to King Arthur's Excalibur. But considering his involvement in the invasion of Briton, it can't be discounted.

[Archer holds out his hand. In a shining light, a sword forms, which he drops on the table.]

It'll vanish in a couple hours. A weapon this powerful, well, copies can't last forever.

I can, but I assure you that my abilities are nowhere near as impressive. [ God, now there's truly dangerous territory. Though his tone doesn't change too much, just dropping the somewhat carelessness, as he watches the sword be formed out of nothing and dropped onto the table. The corn snake slithering away quickly from anything that would harm it. ]

...you may have just warned me about my own abilities but seeing something like this is impressive as well. Did it just appear from nothing?

[ He tests the sword by touching it. It's a lot more than he could have imagined. Honestly he was expecting something a little bit smaller. More manageable. ]

[ Ah. Adelina is really too kind— her suggestion brightens his expression, and he nods at her to indicate that he'll definitely use that as an excuse to check up on her, if necessary.

But now with this wedding charm! He leans forward over the table to look at it, and his features soften that much more. ]

Ah... wow, I didn't know you were married. That must be really precious to you...!

Weird Christmas stuff?

[Before he had come here, it had been near Christmas time back home. How strange to think on it now.]

It wasn't always like that with ViViD? A shame. I think I would have much preferred something more mundane. That is not the best way to experience the technology of the current age after all.

[Weird Christmas stuff indeed... He waves a hand as if to dismiss the creepy deers though, and then nods in agreement.]

Same, same. I'd take a party over creepy stuff like that any day. Or all that gross stuff they've been doing lately... Like when they dumped us into that garbage heap!

[Kashuu does a lot of that himself, though it's mostly for War Reasons so he doesn't actually get to enjoy the places he visits. The true tragedy... He'll pull his hand back and fold both of them on the tabletop.]

[her smile grows a bit; the fondness it holds is joined by a tinge of longing. it's hard to express just how much she's missed him while she's been trapped in this place, but thinking about him does bring her some comfort.

I keep thinking I shouldn't wear it out of my apartment. Such unexpected things can happen here, I always worry that it's going to get broken at some point. I suppose that's a bit silly to worry about, though.

[truth be told, she still isn't completely sure how this event is meant to work. her home certainly didn't have speed friending events, but while the concept confuses her somewhat, it seems appealing to her as well. she's not the type that dislikes meeting new people or making friends.

adelina smiles in return, relieved that he seems friendly.]

[ You better believe Papyrus is all over this, like white on bones. He even wore his special date outfit. Who knows who he might meet here! He wants to be prepared and put his best self forward. Which is what he does all the time, but especially when meeting potential friends and dates.

And so, his would-be matches need only step and sidelong glance in his direction (and sometimes not even that much) for him to engage them enthusiastically. ]

[ It does occur to him that if she is married, she must be missing her husband a lot: he misses his own companions as well, and he'd only been their coworkers.

His expression doesn't exactly drop, but he shakes his head insistently at that last comment she's made. ]

It's not silly at all, is it? It's something important to you, of course you don't want anything to happen to it. [ For all his timidness, he's firm on this point. ] But, if it really does break... I'm sure it'd want to break in your hands, not hidden away in your apartment.

[Unless it is too runny, there needs to be a certain thickness to it. But Usagi appreciates most any sweets and chocolate so maybe she is. Kind of biased here. Just a bit.]

Haa, you've never had that sort of sauce before? It's pretty neat. Means it's not so runny or sticky. But you still get that chocolate taste!

[Ryuuga has to stop and think on that one a bit. While a lot of places may not have some of the best memories associated with them, this one still is probably at the top of the list for being the most interesting:]

Probably the last major city I stopped at before settling in. Met a lot of good friends there. Actually, it was kinda like the colony here in terms of technology. Kinda. Hard to explain.

[To be honest, Ryuuga's a bit taken aback by the sheer politeness. It's honestly not something he's used to, even if he's supposed to garner some respect from his peers due to his title.

Regardless, his surprise gives way to a smile and a nod.]

Ryuuga, Dougai Ryuuga. I haven't had too much of a chance to look through the festival, no, but definitely planning on it later. [Whether that was as himself or keeping the high ground as Garo was another question altogether, though he doubts he'd need to pull off the latter.
