[The cultural festival at the school has been in full-on planning mode for a few weeks. Rise is no exception to the planning and included in the flyers that have gone up is a notice printed on bright pink paper and bold lettering for a very special event.

The booth itself has been set up with a small cluster of tables to accommodate for the amount of people who have been signed up and even for a few last-minute sign-ups. The tables themselves have been decorated with special candles and a tray containing two bowls, two spoons, and a a tray with all the ingredients needed for an ice cream sundae.

At the front of the booth is a collection of heart-shaped name tags with all of the names of each individual whose signed up, along with a number attached. Rise will smile at each person, handing both the name tag and a small envelope to them with instructions not to open it until she says so.

It’s only when everyone has arrived and is crowded inside the booth that she pulls out a megaphone (and really, who gave her that?) and she turns it on.]

Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Cerealia School Speed-Matching event! Meeting people can be really hard here, but don’t worry, we’re making it easy! You’ll see that the tables all have numbers assigned to them. On my count, open your envelopes and see who you’re starting with. When the bell rings, switch partners! Seems pretty simple, huh?

[Nobody gets to get a say in this apparently, but they may see one Yu Narukami who’s sitting on the table behind Rise just watching everyone casual as can be. Why is he wearing glasses? Who knows.]

Okie dokie! Let’s get this show on the road! On your mark…get set…open!

[Hope you’re ready, colonists. Inside each envelope is a starter number for the first match, and also a list of starter questions for asking people about themselves. Some people have lists corresponding with the speed dating route, while others are for the “friends only” route. But wait…what’s that? Some of those lists are crosswired? Your character would try to mingle with everybody and flirt anyway? Well hey. At least people will be talking and mingling.

Oh, and don’t mind the people who may wander in and out of the event. Rise will try to moderator the event to her best ability but hey, she’s pretty social herself. Some people are bound to slip in and out under her watch. Have fun! And remember, beware of the bell! (Or Rise announcing "SWITCH" in a loud voice via megaphone, same thing.)]

[Hiro was a mix of both, so he sits down and stares at Levi. He didn't exactly need cards to make conversation, but he keeps them in mind anyway.]

[He holds out one of his hands as if he's holding something in said hand. Then after a moment of focus for casting, a sphere of pure wind appears in his hand.]

[A nervous smile crosses her face, she didn't even notice that he was nearby her until he spoke! It felt like her cheeks were getting more and more pink, maybe she should try and makes this a little more comfortable for them both by asking a easy question.

Fumbling with her question sheet, she takes a few minutes before picking one out.]

So, umm... What's your favourite season? [pauses before she gives her own answer] I'd say summer is mine because I enjoy riding my bicycle during that time! Nice warm days with a cool breeze rushing through my hair is very enjoyable.

[ a wider smile. he puts his cola on the table, not yet ready to attack that sundae... he'll shuffle through those cards instead, glancing at their questions. he's never attended something like this, so it's all so very mysterious. let's see, let's start out with an easy one... ]

[ She does her best to keep her bounciness in check as she picks up the phone and looks through the pictures. She has to bite her lip to keep back a squeal of delight a couple of times. Something about knowing this tiger is one the person in front of her has actually seen and handled makes it more real to her. More real than the pictures taken for magazines, at least. ]

That's fair. [ He's still going to marvel at the sword and now be a little unsure if he should really take it for himself. It was going to disappear in a matter of hours anyway. ]

[ She's at a loss. On the one hand, she doesn't want to be here, but on the other, that sure is a skeleton talking to her. She's sure she's not dreaming, but one can never be sure. ]

Suuure. [ Why the hell not. ]

[ At least Weiss doesn't have to worry about conversation being an irritation. Lucy's perfectly content to ignore her and busy herself with the sundae ingredients. She's not about to let free ice cream just sit there and turn into a goopy mess. One has to wonder if she even realizes Weiss is there at all, although occasionally her eyes will flick over in her direction. ]

Must've been pretty far in the future in that case, huh? Unless you're one of those lucky guys from the worlds where everything's high-tech even in the 1970s.

[He still seems pretty interested, either way. Learning about the other worlds out there is almost always entertaining.]

[ Well, the politeness is only going to continue as Giorno doesn't plan on letting up. He'll speak calmly and casually with a certain air of practiced grace. Never overbearing though, still the news of the festival keeps the smile on his face. ]

Good, I definitely recommend that you do that. I haven't been here long but I get the feeling that things like these are not too terribly common.

[she busies herself with looking around the room, curious about the kind of place they find themselves. she looks back to him as soon as he asks the question he's found, though, and it doesn't take her very long to think of an answer.]

Aha, I'm not really too caught-up with these sorts of things, admittedly.

[ He smiles a little at Usagi's enthusiasm, tips his head to the side to take a gander at what she has on her own plate. It's impressive, everyone truly is much better at these things than he is. ]

[ Is he talking about sundae-making or speed dating? Even he doesn't really know. ]

[ The admission comes a little awkwardly, with his hands up in 'sorry' position. He's not sure how to make that sound less bizarre than it already is, but there you have it... ]

[ 'Impressive' is one way to describe it. Atsushi is an Ability user, himself, but it's nothing like this; he's seen a lot of strange things in his life, but he'll still be earnestly awed every time.

His eyes go wide and he pulls hack from Angelo's hand, just in case being too close to that sphere is dangerous. ]

Wh, whoa...! That's amazing, is your Ability the power to control wind...? [ At the very least, he's speaking as if he knows what these sorts of things entail. ]

[ Somewhat heartened by her own nervousness and the fact that he's not alone in feeling a bit out of his depth, Atsushi relaxes incrementally and smiles as he digests Suzuha's answer. It's so earnest that he can't help but feel a bit safer in her company, already. ]

That...sounds really nice. I've never ridden a bicycle before, but that's definitely making me want to learn.

For me... I think it'd be spring. It's a little exciting when everything starts changing and getting warmer, isn't it? Ah, maybe that's a really generic answer...

[It'd be impossible for him not to notice considering how Yu had also called Yosuke by his full name before this, and Chie's familiarity with Rise means that they had to have been friends in their world.

Now that they're properly seated and talking he's quietly taking in details such as her nametag, raising an eyebrow right as Chie slams her hands on the table. Chie Satonaka...Yu had told him about her before this, but for Chie herself it'd be pretty hard to tell what is he reacting to.]

She can be pretty persuasive. [Or demanding. Whatever.] You must really like steak to say it like that...Mmm, I like ramen but I prefer to eat it in the restaurant.
