What: Takeru wants to introduce Yamato to Han. Yamato is less than enthusiastic.

So... This is where you've been living this whole time?

[Yamato turns to Takeru, as they arrive at the apartment where they agreed to meet Han. Though he's not showing it, the older boy feels... nervous? Apprehensive? Cautious? He needs to know if Takeru has been taken care of as well as he says he has, whether Han has been treating him right. Until he knows for sure, Yamato knows he won't be happy with Takeru staying here.

Especially when Takeru had compared him to their father. Now Yamato will be scrutinising him down to the last detail for how he matches up to the real thing.

But he doesn't want to make anything difficult for Takeru, so he's resolved to try and trust Takeru's judgement and give Han a chance, rather than distance himself and treat him coldly. Which is why they're here now, Yamato bringing Gabumon in tow.

...Hopefully this meeting won't go as badly as he expects it to.]

[The view when they walk into the apartment definitely gives the impression of a family home. There's some random mechanical project of some sort in one corner, but the bulk of the living area screams "Children live here". Because Han has never been one for trying to keep a pristine home that conceals that fact. Especially if it's not an official residence that is used for entertaining state guests.]

Feel free to have a seat.

[The couch is exceptionally comfortable.]

[Takeru had no idea where this would go but he just hoped that it would turn out for the better! Ever since he compared Han to his dad, he was worried his brother wouldn't like Han at all. But that didn't stop him from being hopeful. Yamato would like him sooner or later right?

Right??

Either way, as they entered the apartment, he just smiled back at the older man before putting his brother toward a seat!]

Oniichan, this is Han-san! He's been taking care of me and Hikari-chan all this time! And he's super nice and has been making a lot of food for me too! [Because you know. He doesn't want anyone to start fighting around here!]

[Yamato is on edge as he looks around, and that doesn't change even when Takeru pulls him towards a seat. Before he sits down, though, he turns towards Han and gives him a low bow.]

...Thank you for taking care of Takeru.

[It was the respectful thing to do, right? Even if he hadn't made his mind up yet what his opinion of Han was.]

[He smiles at the boy, trying to put him at ease a bit]

He's a good kid. And if it were one of mine here on their own instead, I'd have to hope someone would keep an eye on them.

[Because they are his children and therefore a bit impulsive.]

[So far, everything seemed to be good! He just hopes that it stays that way.

As Yamato sat down, Takeru made his way toward the fridge]

Is there anything you want to drink? You too, Han-san?

Juice is fine, Takeru.

[He calls over to him, before focusing his attention back on Han.]

You have kids of your own? [That... made things a little better. At least he knew what he was doing when it came to taking care of kids.] Didn't they make it here?

Three of them. None of them are here now. [Which is actually a bit of a sore point. Especially since the two that were apparently met a gruesome fate and there was nothing he could do about it]

[With Takeru getting something for the both of them, all he could do was just listen to the conversation between the both of them.

Still, listening to how Han's children weren't here anymore, it hit a sore spot for Takeru as well. But wearing a bright smile on his face, he just handed drinks to the both of them]

Yeah, they were really nice too when they were here! It was a lot of fun seeing them! [As much as he tries to hide it, there was a hint of saddness in him]

Oh... I'm sorry.

[Silently accepting his drink from Takeru, Yamato flushes, and he looks down to stare at his knees. He was so concerned thinking of his own brother that he didn't consider whether it would be a sensitive question, and now he feels guilty for even asking.]

It's... difficult, with people coming and going and us not being able to control it. All we can do is look after each other while we're all here.

[It's not much. But it's what he can manage for Takeru and Hikari.]

[As Takeru sat next to his brother, he stared down at his feet before swinging them around a little. He didn't want to think about it but it was true]

Yeah and it's a good thing that there are a lot of people who want to help us out too! Even if they do come and go, I'm still glad that I got to meet them!
