Who: Daughter!Marinette (
buginette) & Daddy!Steven (
geophile)
When: Backdated to IC 7/1, after Marinette's freak out over her missing Crush
Where: Some quaint high tea place with sandwiches and cupcakes laUGHS
What: Steven invites Marinette out on a lunch date to get her mind off matters, which will most likely (d)evolve into consuming way to many freshly baked sweets and an inevitable chit-chat about her ~*feelings*~ for one (1) Adrien Agreste
Rating/Warning: Cavities from too much sugary sweetness, i guESS?
[ growing up in a bakery, no one knows better than marinette how food can help lift a mood, even in the most trying of times.
and, the disappearance of the Love of Her Life definitely constitutes as a "trying time."
so, when steven so kindly extended the invitation to do lunch, she was not reluctant in the least to accept, even when the gps pin revealed that he had chosen the very same café in which another incident (read: trainwreck) involving him took place. what are the odds, right? cerealia really needs some more variety up in hurr.
nonetheless, it has been a Day already, and marinette just wants to fill her tummy (COUGHand purseCOUGH) with something sweet to calm her feels, of which she has quite an abundance after the blur of the past few hours. without a second thought, she makes her way inside and spots steven sitting at, coincidentally, the same table as their previous encounter, er, rather, his encounter with ladybug. no bad jubies there, right? ]
Hey, um I made it! [ she offers a brief wave of greeting before immediately heading over, collapsing into the chair opposite from him as if her bones were made of lead. and no, you totally did not just hear a tiny "oof" just then, whatever do you mean? ] What a morning.

What do you find difficult about it?
[ not!dad also has the romantic experience of a literal rock, so he'll need some explaining done. ]
slides back in here all casual-like...
Well, I mean... what if he rejects me? [ or, where the real crux of the issue lay— ] That is, what if we lose our friendship because of it? It'll all be ruined because of me being selfish...
[ being a teenage girl is super hard, not!dad. :c ]
kisses ur forehead
[ hm... it could make things awkward, to say the least. he's thinking about this methodically. ]
I think I understand. In that case, it may be wise to hold off until you can predict how he feels in return. From there, you can act accordingly.
