I would think that because our consciousness is stored as code, any anomalies there wouldn't be visible to the rest... Unless it's a glitch in the object that stores all of us. Or unless they're just crappy programmers. But as for this, maybe they only exist on the level of our perception, so they're inextricably tied to us? Or maybe they're not code at all.
