Rating/Warning: William has two sets of memories: his own and King Solomon's. So if you want to see a memory, please specify which. Also let me know if you would prefer to avoid anything overly upsetting or traumatic and I'll keep it light.

A. The Twining Apartment
[The dove has been cooing at him for hours now and William ends up giving it a sharp look, which causes it to stop for a long moment and stare at him.]

Listen, I am very sorry for your state, but I cannot do anything about your wing, as you would know. So you should learn to tough it out a little.

[It looks at him sadly, cocking it's head to the side and William feels guilty. And then it hops onto the coffee table and starts to coo again. Slumping into the couch, William groans.]

Oh bother.

B. Library

[It's probably better for him to not be at work. William's had enough experience with such things to know that there is usually no benefit to going out except increased danger. But it doesn't sit well with him to just do nothing either. He gets bored and restless and doesn't know what to do with himself. And danger doesn't care about the sanctity of one's home anyways.

So he's at the library, doing his usual duties, with the bird obediently perched on his shoulder. This isn't so bad, so he's in a pretty pleasant mood when he offers to assist someone.]

May I help you with something?

C. Arcade
[He's stressed and taking a break for the day, because this has been tedious. And the arcade rolled out a new game here that he wants to try anyways. It's platformer, akin to Mario brothers, but with a title in some alien language William cannot pronounce. Still it's fun and his dove has decided to take up a spot on the console, seemingly asleep for once. Nothing can possibly go wrong here, right?]

[As Takeru and Patamon happend to be wandering around the library, he was certain that he forgotten something! After a mysterious blond boy told him that he was his brother, he was wondering why he can't remember him. While it was Cerealia's doing, he wanted to figure out a way to remember his brother and fast!

Looking through an aisle of books, he only gave a pout. Nothing seemed to be turning up and it was frustrating him to no end! Although, when he saw a familiar face running around?]

William-san! Can you help me, I'm trying to look up a book about getting memories back?

Oh Takeru and Patamon.

[William smiled at them, then sighed at the question. Because really, how unfortunate. That this whole memory nonsense was going around was bad enough, but a kid like Takeru probably had fewer memories to lose.]

I think what you might want is something about memory recall. Or maybe advanced brain surgery.

[Still he should make a suggestion anyways.]

[Oh yeah, absolutely nothing.

Maybe he'd get away with it if it weren't Leon, that guy who makes a habit of leaning on and draping over things wherever he goes. Right now he's got a choice between that thing being 1. William or 2. the arcade console, and unfortunately, he chooses the console, flopping right up against it on the free side as he gets a load of what William's playing today.]

Oh yeah, haven't tried this one y—

[That . . . was probably the sound of him accidentally touching the dove.]

[William barely has a chance to greet Leon before it happens and dammit. Suddenly that memory is there, of a past long centuries old ago. Only the person who is featured isn't William, but someone who looks so much like him, or at least the person he might grow into that it's uncanny.

It was that time after Solomon had won the battles against his brothers and had been declared King of Israel. But, his father, David had not accepted it and thus Solomon had been forced to imprison him. Solomon had not wished for such a thing and had promised to free his father, if he would just acknowledge him as his own blood. This visit, like so many others had proved fruitless, with David calling him a child of sin who consorted with demons. One who should never have been born into this world. Feelings of desperation and bitterness were welling inside, along with despair. And then... it's over just like that.]

...did you see that?

[William glanced at Leon, obviously unable to see the fox he was about to bump into. This was actually not as bad as that time with the mirrors, but his brain is still in a state.]

[William, don't scare the kid when he already has faulty memory! He just stared at the other boy with big wide eyes!]

I-I'm not going to do that! I think it would be really scary to have surgery in Cerealia! I just want something that will help me remember better, that's all!

[Especially when he can't remember his brother! Although, he wondered why he was able to recognize who Hikari and Taichi were. And yet, why was his brother the one he can't remember?]

—Yeah, what the . . . what was that? That wasn't you . . . how'd I . . . ?

[He's completely thrown off, his mind still trying to wrap around whatever just happened. It was like having a movie beamed directly into his brain, as if that had actually happened to him, but—how? Why? Was that William's ancestor? Was this some weird power of his he hadn't talked about before?

Leon leans heavily on the console, rubbing his face vaguely with his hand, and he is definitely not paying attention to his fox when it bumps into William's legs.]

In this memory, he's much younger than he is now—maybe 14—and he's sitting sprawled out in an upper-class modern Japanese house with a girl harassing him. It's the same girl whose picture sits in a half-blocked off photo frame in his living room in Cerealia. She's pleading desperately with him, but he's turning her down yet again:

"Coooome ooooon, how many times do I gotta say it? I don't see you that way!"

"No! See me that way! Let's get married!"

"I'm tellin' you it's not possible! I don't wanna!"

"That's not true! You just don't understand your own feelings! The truth is you must be helpless with the desire to marry me!"

" . . . I'm begging you. Seriously, how many times do I gotta say it?"

"Oooohhh . . . "

The girl begins to sob bitterly, and Leon feels his chest tighten and twist. Ugh. This again? He loves her; he loves her so much! Just not . . . like that! This is his cousin, and this is like literally the two thousandth time they've been through this same song and dance. Why does he always have to be the bad guy? Why won't she let go so they can have a normal relationship? But no, it's always like this:

"It's not impossibleeee! Me and Onii-chan would definitely be happyyeeeuuhhh! Waaaahhh! We should be getting marrieeeeed! Ughughuuugggghhhhh!"

"Ahh, geez, this's so annoying. Sorry."

Why is he apologizing? Well, he is sorry, in a way. He doesn't want this . . . but he doesn't want her to hurt, either. She's his favorite relative, after all. She'd be cool to hang out with if she'd just accept he sees her like a sister. So Leon reaches out to pet her head and fluff at her hair, trying to comfort her . . .

Maybe it'd be easier if she hated him instead, but he can't stand the thought of that, either.

Sorry! Sorry!

[He waved his hand, feeling just a little guilty.]

But, well I think like I said, memory recall would be the best bet. Come on, follow me.

[William sad as he started off.]

Is it anything in particular you are trying to remember?

[As the memory faded, William leaned against the console himself, take a moment to gather himself, ignore the game over music blaring on the screen.]

Ah, this keeps happening to us, doesn't it? Though I guess this time it is slightly less one sided.

[And then probably not helpfully...]

That girl, your cousin, seems a bit troublesome.

[Then there was a long pause in Takeru's end. He didn't want to say anything since he made somebody feel sad. But at the same time?

Wasn't that all the more reason for him to do something about it?]

Mhmm, I'm trying to remember my brother. But I just can't remember him at all and I made him really sad! I don't know if he's telling the truth but it seems like he was!

Your brother?

[Oh that is a bother then. William can't help but feel sorry for him, since family is so very important.]

But I think that whatever this is, it will pass eventually and then you will remember him.

[He thinks on it for a moment though.]

Still we can try to find something for you. It never hurts to try.

—You saw that?

[But he should have realized. Of course William would have seen something too . . . why is he surprised? It could have been worse, though. The last time Leon experienced an event like this, it definitely was. Kanon—he just snorts and makes a face, though there's some tenderness in his expression too, as much as he's trying to play it off.]

She never learned, y'know? Least not that I remember . . . what a pain in the ass! She used to straight up stalk me if I went out with anyone.

You really think so? I don't know what Cerealia is planning on doing but I really don't want to forget him! Especially when he looked really really sad!

[While Takeru knew it was a library, he couldn't help ut raise his voice just a bit. After all, he was starting to panic. If he can't remember his brother, what else couldn't he remember?]

...that sounds like a pain.

[William is keeping his eye on the dove now, which is huddling back a ways, looking contrite and possibly like it jostled itself. Serves you right, he thinks to himself.]

She's the one you have a picture of in your apartment, isn't she?

[And here he had thought it was possibly a girlfriend.]

[William stopped and turned around.]

We will try Takeru, alright? But I can't promise anything. And if you really are brothers, then I think you can work around it.

[And as he's saying it, that dove decides to take this moment to try and find a new, shorter perch.]

[Leon's vaguely aware of where his fox is skulking off behind the machine, but since it doesn't seem inclined to go rubbing up against anyone else anymore, he's not sparing it much attention; he's still feeling some vertigo, which is draining a lot of his focus from anything not the conversation. Maybe they need some air. For now, though, he just remains flopped across the console.]

Yeah, you remember! That's her. Trust me, she's definitely a pain! . . . But I'm just glad she's doin' okay. I heard she's alive, y'know, even after everything—that's all I care about.

[It's a little embarrassing to be sappy over his cousin, but it's true.]

. . . That guy in your memory looked just like you, man. It was freaky.

You really think so? I still feel bad that I don't remember but he does. How do you think we can work around it?

[Of course, they could still act like brothers. But the problem was that it was going to be really awkward!]

[Angelo grins at William when the other addresses him. He was coming back to return some books, but seeing one of his favorite people wasn't terrible either. And sure, he had one of these weird spirits following him, a dove specifically, but he was going to ignore it like he usually does. Also the fact that he felt as though he was forgetting some things, but of course he wasn't going to let that show it was bothering him either.]

Don't you help me enough as it is, William?

[This isn't the first time William has had unbidden memories come out for him, though normally they are day dreams or he's blacked out. So he takes a moment to brace himself.]

That's a good thing then. That she is alive after everything that happened back in your world.

[He meant that sincerely too, strange as she seemed. It meant that if Leon ended up going back home he wouldn't be entirely alone.]

Freaky... doesn't even begin to describe it. I do not even understand how the genetics work in this case.

[He did wonder if all of Solomon's descendants had resembled him to this extent, and if not, was that why William could handle the presence of that other, incredibly overbearing mind when others had failed?]

Get to know him then. If you really are brothers, then isn't it worth rebuilding that?

[He sees the dove hop and grabs at it.]

By the way, you had better dodge, or else something you cannot see is going to hit you.

[Don't worry Angelo, you get used to the forgetting things part of life. Really you do.

But William laughs a little and shrugs, quickly glancing at his shoulder to make sure the dove was in place. No need to share any more memories than he had to.]

Probably not, judging by how you just happen to pop up in front of me all the time.

What books do you have there?

I dunno, man, if you're reincarnated or whatever, does genetics even come into it? I guess that's way beyond the scope of the science we learned about in school.

[Not that he learned any science in school, but still, he's pretty sure he'd remember if that came up. Probably.]

—You okay? You wanna get out o' here? Or you good to keep playing?

Of course it is! It's going to be pretty awkward but I don't mind giving it a shot. I just hope my uh...brother will.

[He might not 'know' Yamato that well but he couldn't deny there was a hint of worry things might not be the same ever again between them]

Huh? [he said before looking around] What's going to hit me?

[Kevin has been trying to charm his grumpy and yet cute but probably demonic kitty. He has tried food, with some success. The weird thing has been judiciously lapping at a milk saucer when he spots William and his sad companion. Kevin takes one single look at the damaged wing, and immediately turns his eyes away, shuddering in sympathy for the poor birdie.]

Oh dear, young master has one of those too.

[He laughs at the other then looks down at the pile of books in his arms.]

Some books to return. [He follows his words by dropping said books on the counter, many of them are... very adult in theme from what William will see.] I'm looking to see if you've got any new ones.
