[Lili received a box containing a broken CYBuddy, was properly distrubed by it, and then proceeded on with her day. It figures that the first gift that she receives is from CERES and of course it's incredibly off-putting. Regardless, it is her birthday and... she has let very few people know. For the most part, she's forgotten about it herself since in the chaos of the ghost animals, she didn't bother planning anything. So she thinks that it will pass easily indeed.

What she doesn't realize is that anyone who is familiar with Kashuu Kiyomitsu will have heard that it's Lili's lovely eighteenth birthday, because Kashuu Cannot Be Trusted.

Who needs enemies when you have friends like these?]

[For anyone who actually wanders to the flower shop where Lili works, they'll find that her coworkers took the liberty to celebrate her birthday even though she had no interest in doing so. As a result, maybe festive, blooming wreaths and banners saying Happy Birthday sure are hanging at the very front.

So here's Lili, in the middle of pulling off a blessedly bedazzled crown as she huffs outside, red-faced and already clearly embarrassed as she is going to switch out the decorations for things that will actually make money and she's not expecting to see anyone out there.

It's a close call but she avoids running into you but in her surprise, she runs into a knot in her hair as she's pulling out the tiara and wincing-]

Ow!

[And then she's going to pout at you like this is your fault.]

Step out of my way...!

[Okay, birthday girl. Nevermind that you pretty clearly need Help.]

[Lili continues to need Help, nothing is new.

The idea of a complimentary birthday cupcake being sent to her is a sweet idea. It really is. Except it's not quite so well in practice, especially when the birthday cupcake is a ) covered in candles and b ) given to someone as uncoordinated as Lili. Worse so as she's thinking about what it means to turn a year older so soon after her last death.

So when it's otherwise a simple and unsuspecting night in Cerealia, any loud sounds (whether they're a party popper or a car backfiring) will absolutely startle Lili.]

What?!

[So startled that she's going to jump and lose her grip on this beautiful cupcake.

Where are you? Are you right in front of her and now risking getting set on fire? Are you too far away and watching as Lili's sleeve absolutely catches flame? Are you going to just watch this flaming pastry fall to the ground?

[Birthday cupcakes are IMPORTANT, okay. They're important and it would be a downright sin to let one go to waste, especially tonight when everything needs to be up to insanely perfect standards!

So as soon as Kashuu spots that cupcake toppling out of Lili's hands, he makes a dive for it like he's a dang football player, catching it by the paper-covered bottom moments before it hits the ground and duck-and-rolling so he doesn't dirty up his jacket.]

Safe—!

[Okay but has anything caught on fire, because he sure wasn't paying attention to that little detail in his mad dash.]

[When Takeru saw the text message, he didn't know what to think of it. However, if there was caked involved then that must mean it was somebody's birthday right? Trying his best to buy a last minute bithday present, he eventually thought up of a journal with a few pencils here and there! If he liked to write a lot, hopefully this mysterious birthday person will like it too!

Of course, once he figured out who it was, he had to admit. He suddenly found himself frozen in one spot. After their last encounter, he wasn't even sure how to approach the girl. Although, when he saw Lili having trouble, he wasted no time in helping out]

Lili-san? Do you need help?

[ Kuramochi's just spending his time doing whatever when he receives the text. There's probably a "?" appearing over his head for a moment because why would Lili tell him about a cake...

Lili's one of the first few people he got to get acquainted with but it seems like talking about themselves aren't really a thing for these two stubborn kids. ]

what's this about cake?

[stahn doesn't have any reason to be buying flowers, so he's just passing through the area...

and spectating, of course. even after all these months, the hustle and bustle of the city distracts him sometimes—and naturally that means he's not going to see lili in his path to sidestep.]

Whoaaaugh! Sorry, sor—

[he's apologizing pretty profusely because he knows he wasn't paying attention (just how often does he do this?), but then he realizes who he bumped into.]

...Lili?

[ Izuku's not actually looking to celebrate any birthdays, he's just incredibly unlucky, as always, his attention on his CereVICE. He looks up in time to assist this girl in a - crown? - in preventing a collision, but goes red at the accusation. ] I, um, I'm sorry...?

[ Tentatively: ] Do you... want a hand? [ He's gotten plenty of things stuck in the mass of curls on his head, he knows how it goes. ]

[ Imano is in and out of that flower shop like a brisk summer breeze, if they were to exist in Cerealia's shopping district. He got himself some cake, don't worry! But he figured that doing his little thing and not hanging around too long was good enough, since he... didn't know how a.) birthday parties work and b.) how Lili works, and he doesn't know if she'd take a gift if he gave it to her directly??? Also about that second bit, he didn't have one for her on his first visit to the flower shop, so he left on a little journey to fix that!

So later in the day while the flower shop is still open, there's a nice little box with some fancy store logo stamped on it, left on the table with the cake. If she asks who put it there, one of her coworkers will describe a silver-haired boy who they assumed had a crush on Lili and that's why he ran off... Why else did they let him get away like that, hahaha.

As for what's in the box, it's a scarf! Happy Birthday, Lili. ]

[ free cake doesn't actually sound that appealing to somebody who works with cakes every day. works with cakes being... a very loose term, but anyway. still, that probably means it's a party, right? and when he actually gets there, and notices whose party it is...

well, that just makes everything that much funnier.

so cue him grabbing a hold of the tiara and pulling on it none-too-gently, attempting to tug it out of the knot in her hair. ]

Ah, jeez. Brush it once in a while, will you? [ look at his hair? it's fabulous? do you need tips? ] So, how old are you now? Six?

[ disappointingly enough, there's no free alcohol laying around, which is really the only reason he bothered coming here? but listen, he's always prepared for parties that are bound to be boring trainwrecks -- and it's by keeping a small bottle of wine inside of his coat at All Times.

... ok, maybe not All Times, but times when he's headed to a party, yeah.

so cue him standing next to whatever refreshments are available (i hope it's a cheesy, prom-like punch) and pouring the wine... straight into them. ah yes, perfect.

he'll even nudge you when you pass by, too! ]

Hey, you want some? I just tasted it, and it's pretty great.

[ why did he stick around here... well, for the potential of sweet (free) food, of course. he hopes it's homemade. yet, marco's still not sure if he'd been purposely invited, so he's had a good time of wallflowering in the meanwhile. knowing nothing until he'd arrived, he's embarrassed he hadn't brought a gift.

it's something he'll rectify later. for now, lili's sleeve has caught fire. sometimes marco wonders how she's made it this far in life. ]

[ that's the .3 second warning before he's splashing the entire contents of his cola on her. indeed, as suspect as the soda might be, at least it isn't flammable! ]

[If anyone asks, he's not here by choice. He's here because he accidentally wandered here, that's all there is to it. He's even considering just leaving before he's spotted or before anyone says anything, except--

Then there's that cupcake that is 100% a fire hazard.

And there it goes, falling.

And honestly? Leon's still irritatingly competent, so he immediately is reaching out to snag the cupcake mid-air, catching it from the bottom.

So that they can casually watch a single candle fall to the ground with a plop and splutter out there.

[ DON'T PEOPLE HERE PRACTICE COMMON COURTESY. Hakata who was simply trying to get a better look at the banner looks rather hurt at Lili's blunt comment. ]

Wha - ? But you're the one who came out suddenly!

[ He should talk to your manager about your attitude lil' lady!! But well, she did cry out in pain. ]

[Cake? Also it's likely that Kashuu, who has begun to spar with Edgeworth every so often, might have let Lili's birthday slip. That and Lili's text prompt Edgeworth to pick up a tin of sugar cookies that go well with almost any blend of tea. He didn't know her too well yet, but it wouldn't hurt to be polite.

So here he is, stepping into the flower shop with the package in hand.]

Oh--!

[ Well. There's Lili, and that's certainly a hair problem, and Otome is no stranger to frustrated and temperamental teenage girls (Airi comes to mind), but all the same, Lili's snappy order gets her to gentle raise both eyebrows. ]

Is that what you'd prefer, Lili?

[Of course she heard from Kashuu that it was Lili's birthday. How could she not have? She also knows better than to make a fuss out of it but she did have a little time to prepare. In her purse there's a small, nicely wrapped box with a little bow on it and she's quick to make her way to the flower shop after her short shift at the tofu shop.

Granted, she doesn't get a chance to do anything about it because as she approaches the shop Lili seems to be Struggling. She's almost too amused by the other girl's pout and she stops her before smiling gently anyway.]

Here, you're just going to make it worse if you keep moving. Do you want some help? [She knows better than to say "do you need help" because that could only end poorly.]

[The loud sound in question is absolutely without a doubt Lee entering, carrying a stack of presents and loudly announcing his entrance.

But when he spots Lili and the falling cupcake, he gasps.]

No!! [Tears streaming down the face, he dives forward and slides along the floor in an attempt to catch the beautiful cupcake, which he now imagines as a personification of Lili's chances of future happiness, even if he burns his hands in the process!]

What time? [ He has questions, but he'll ask them when he's there. ]

[ Well...

Who can say no to a text of FREE(!?) CAKE! Okay, technically Hijikata can when you're Scary Vice Commander of Shinsengumi that doesn't eat cake...

But this is also Hijikata 'I love sweets just don't tell anyone'... Hmm... Yeah, whatever. Although, after his own Kashuu thrown birthday party, and also most likely being told by Kashuu himself... He knows what this is probably for (so yes, Hijikata comes to the flower shop with a gift box in hand... Look at this, he's prepared).

Of course, he has to be greeted with YELLING, huh!!!

So, naturally, Lili will receive a glare in response and... Oh no, there he goes. He grabs her by the collar, lifting her up just a bit. ]

Is that how you treat guests? I thought you had some decency.

[ says the Very rude man right now.

Also he's not going to put her down until she starts being less rude! Your move, Lili. ]
