PHASE I [ it's been a few good days since athena last got out of bed. she had no plans of getting out of bed today either, but her own bed decided to cancel her plans for her.
she's already weak from not eating much since merlin's disappearance, so being flung onto the wall doesn't help her physical state, either. but more than anything, it was a wake up call. things are going down, and she shouldn't just be in bed. something is moving. the gears are turning.
people could potentially be in danger.
it's why she rushes to grab a bag and shoves her notes and a ton of books in it. she doesn't even bother dressing up. she'll go out in her pyjamas if she has to. there really is no time to waste if she wants to see the state of the colony. only once she's ready to leave, the door won't exactly open.
and it's why if anybody is at the residential district this time of day, and ends up passing by athena's building, they'll find a girl trying to slide herself down a ton of blankets tied together from a window.
she's about ten storeys up, too. ]
PHASE II I really don't know what you're talking about!
[ normally, being chased by the police wouldn't bother athena so much. she may be well-known in the precinct for damaging some police drones back in the day (their fault!), but she hasn't done any violence towards the police recently. there shouldn't be any reason for them to be after her.

ATHENA CYKES, AGE 18, OFFENCE: ATTACKING AN ALIEN WITH A BANANA. SURRENDER.
[ to be honest, she may as well surrender even if she did nothing wrong. she's never hit anybody with a banana before, though admittedly, the idea of it is becoming more appealing by the second. she just has no strength to fight, or to run as much as she already has.

PHASE III [ at first, it was just silence. an abnormal and eerie silence that athena's never experienced before. she doesn't know what it's like to have regular hearing—to not hear other people's emotions, but this is just far too much. her entire ability to hear is gone.
but it only lasts for a few seconds.
when she's back to, it's like surfacing from the water after drowning. she tries to catch her breath, a hand by her throat. all seems to be normal until she feels something slap her upper thigh. she turns.
and sees that she now has a tail. ]
Uh oh…
[ she tries to see what else has changed. she pets herself all over, until she manages to touch her head. ears. cat ears.
well!! at least she's still clothed. but it looks like she's part animal now. for now?!
it doesn't really seem so harmful or disturbing, at least! until she ends up trying to nuzzle against you, anyway… (i'm so sorry.) ]
